A robot apparatus includes: a door opening/closing robot and a controller. The door opening/closing robot includes a base, a first arm, a second arm, a third arm, and a fourth arm. The door opening/closing robot is disposed between a side surface of the vehicle body and a booth side wall. The controller sequentially performs a door opening control for controlling the door opening/closing robot such that a tool opens a door at an upstream side of a first axis in a direction of a conveyance line, a door following control for controlling the door opening/closing robot such that an opened state of the door is maintained while the vehicle body is being conveyed along the conveyance line, and a door closing control for controlling the door opening/closing robot such that the tool closes the door at a downstream side of the first axis in the direction of the conveyance line.

Robot apparatus and control method

A robot system includes first and third robots arranged along a transport direction in which a workpiece is conveyed, and a second robot arranged between the first and third robots along the transport direction. Each of the first and third robots has a first distal end at which a first end effector is configured to be provided to work on the workpiece and has a plurality of axes arranged in a first axis configuration in which a rotation axis, a pivot axis, a pivot axis, and a rotation axis are arranged in this order from the first distal end. An installing device includes a connection member and a linear motion support. The connection member is disposed at a base end portion of a hollow arm which extends in an extension direction and which has a hollow extending in the extension direction. A linear object passing through the hollow is connectable to the connection member. The linear motion support supports the connection member slidably with respect to the hollow arm in the extension direction.

A robot system includes a robot, a moving body, a determination circuit, a calculation circuit, and a control circuit. The robot includes a mount and a first arm. The determination circuit is configured to determine a lastly moved part of the robot which is lastly moved to make the robot take an operation posture. The calculation circuit is configured to calculate, based on the lastly moved part, an angle between a travel direction of the moving body and an orientation axis of the first arm when the robot in the operation posture is viewed along a height axis of the robot. A robot includes a first arm rotatable around a first axis and a second arm having an extending direction. The first arm includes a first base and a first extending portion. The first base includes a first through hole passing through the first arm along the first axis. The first extending portion extends from the first base along the first axis. The second arm includes a second base and a second extending portion. The second base includes a connection portion connected to the first extending portion such that the second arm is rotatable around a second axis that is substantially orthogonal to the first axis. The second base includes a second through hole passing through the second arm along the extending direction. The second extending portion is provided opposite to the connection portion in the extending direction and extends from the second base along the extending direction.

A robot arm includes a first member, a second member, an actuator, and a speed reducer. The second member is pivotable relative to the first member about a pivot axis. The actuator is configured to pivotally move the second member relative to the first member about the pivot axis. The speed reducer is configured to couple the actuator to the second member to reduce a rotational speed of the second member relative to an output rotational speed of the actuator. The speed reducer includes a grease chamber in which grease is to be provided. The second member including an air chamber in which air is provided, the air chamber being connected to the grease chamber.

Robot arm

A cable includes electric wires, an outer cover, a first cover, and a second cover. Each of the electric wires includes a conductive core and an insulator covering the conductive core. The outer cover covers the electric wires and extends from a first atmosphere to a second atmosphere less explosive than the first atmosphere. An outer surface of the outer cover is supported by a partition separating the first atmosphere from the second atmosphere. The first cover includes a thermosetting resin and covers an exposed portion of the electric wires, which is not covered by the outer cover in the second atmosphere. The second cover covers the first cover and includes a material higher in fracture strength than the thermosetting resin.
