In a method for assembling an electric compressor which contains a rotor having built-in magnets, magnets in a pre-magnetization state are inserted into a plurality of slots of a magnetizing jib made with a nonmagnetic material. After magnetizing the magnets, the magnetizing jib is fitted to the rotor to have the magnets transferred into magnet slots. A magnetizing method and an assembly method for implementing high reliability electric compressors at low manufacturing cost is implemented.

A transport system for use in a hospital. When patients visit the hospital, data items representing their ID numbers and the ID codes of their doctors are input to a minicomputer. In accordance with these data items, the covers containing the patients' medical cards are automatically withdrawn from three card storages installed in the hospital, in groups each consisting of cards which are to be transported to the same destination. The covers of each group are inserted into a case by way of the card-ejecting device provided for each card storage. The case containing the covers, which are to be transported to the same destination, is automatically transported to the destination via a case transfer apparatus.

Transport sytstem

An apparatus for conveying carrier cases between different locations in a building includes a main conveyance path. A plurality of stations is located along the path so that each station is located in a different room. The main conveyance path includes a linear induction system for moving the cases between the stations. The stations include a stop position located on the main conveyance path and a branch conveyance path adjacent the stop position. Each branch conveyance path includes a horizontal storage section with two conveyer belts and a subconveying section which includes a reversible vertically disposed conveyer belt with a horizontal portion adjacent to one horizontal belt. The subconveying section extends to an input/output section which opens into the room. One embodiment of the input/output section is provided with a plurality of storage positions located in a U-shaped configuration and belts to automatically move the cases along the positions. An input position includes an automatic opening device for the carrier cases and an output position includes an automatic closing device.

Apparatus for conveying articles

This invention provides a three-dimensional conveyance system for automatically conveying card, chit, medicine or the like from one position to other position in a general hospital or the like. Conveyance in each of stories is carried out in accordance with a linear induction motor system which is effective for conveying article accommodated in a container case while the latter is carried on a moving body. The adjacent stories are connected to one another with the use of suitable vertical conveyance device by which container cases can be conveyed therebetween. Further, this invention provides a container case usable for the conveyance system includes a pair of guide rails and a flexible lid and by sliding the lid along the side wall surfaces of the housing of the container case, the upper open end of the container case can be opened or closed. The container case is provided with a locking mechanism in order to assure that the lid is kept in the closed state.

Conveyance system for article container case

An apparatus for conveying articles in carrier cases between one location in a hospital to a second location is disclosed. A station with a control panel is located in each room in the hospital which is to be reached by the system. A main conveyance path including a linear induction motor extends between each station. The stations include a branch conveyance path extending from a stop position on the main conveyance path to an input/output section for inputting carrier cases into the system or receiving carrier cases sent from other locations. A transferring device is located at each stop position and transfers carrier cases from the main conveyance path to each station. The system is run by a central control unit which controls the conveyance of the carrier cases along the main conveyance path as well as transference of the articles between the main conveyance path and the station and the movement of the carrier cases at the station itself. A detector is located in each station to detect if a malfunction occurs in any of the stations and reports any malfunctions to the central control unit. If a malfunction is detected, the central control unit operatively disconnects the malfunctioning station from the rest of the system so that no carrier cases may be sent to the malfunctioning station and no carrier cases may be sent from the malfunctioning station to the rest of the system, while maintaining normal functioning of the rest of the system.

An image reading apparatus comprises an original table, a lamp located above the original table and used as a first light source for irradiating light to an original placed on the original table, another lamp located below the original table and used as a second light source for irradiating light to the original, and a photoelectric converter for receiving the light passing through the original or the light reflected therefrom, and converting the light into electric signals. Upon the pushing of a passing-light mode key incorporated in a console panel, the first light source is turned on and is moved, together with the photoelectric converter, in a straight line along the original table, in order to read the image formed on the original which is of the type through which light passes. Alternatively, when a reflected-light mode key is depressed, the second light source is turned on and is moved, together with the photoelectric converter in a straight line along the original table, in order to read the image formed on the original which is of the type from which light is reflected.

Image reading apparatus

A conveying apparatus conveys storage cases, each containing at least one item of article to be conveyed, along a conveying path and includes main conveying mechanisms and sub-conveying mechanisms. The respective main conveying mechanism has a pair of guide rails which define a main conveying path for storage cases. Stations are located on the main conveying path and carriers are guided along the guide rails on the main conveying path. The carrier includes a storage section for storing the storage cases. The carrier is moved by a linear motor along the main conveying path and stopped at at least one station so that the storage case is conveyed to a destination. The sub-conveying mechanism includes a pair of case guides on sub-conveying path which extends from the station. The storage case is conveyed by a conveying belt along the case guides on the sub-conveying path. A supply section and receipt section are provided on the sub-conveying path, the supply section supplying the storage case to the conveying belt and the receipt section receiving the storage case from the conveying belt. A transfer mechanism is provided at the station to transfer the storage case between the carrier on the main conveying mechanism and the conveying belt for the sub-conveying mechanism.

Conveying apparatus and fixing apparatus

The present invention relates to an optical reader for scanning a surface to be scanned by using information beam ray such as laser beam ray and optically reading a recorded information such as bar code recorded in the surface to be scanned. The optical reader is constituted such that optical beam emitted from a light source is reflected on a first rotary multiface mirror to scan on a surface to be scanned, and information beam reflected on the surface to be scanned is reflected on a second rotary multiface mirror to guide to an opto-electric transforming means. A scanning optical path for permitting the optical beam from the light source to pass therealong is formed independently from a reflecting optical path for permitting the information beam from the surface to be scanned to pass therealong. A condensing lens system including a bore diameter large enough to cover the scanning optical path and reflecting optical path as well as a single optical axis is disposed between the surface to be scanned and the first and second rotary multiface mirrors.

Optical reader

There is a sorting apparatus for mixed envelopes according to whether or not the envelopes are face-up, and whether or not they are upside-down. Each envelope is carried lengthwise and a parallel light beam is radiated on the envelope from the right and left oblique directions with respect to the carrying direction of the envelope. When the light beam is radiated on the backside of the envelope from the upper side of the envelope, the shadow of the flap is formed on the envelope. Whether or not the envelope is face-up and whether or not the envelope is rightside-up is determined by this shadow detection.

Sheet orienter using flap detection

Analog switches are connected between corresponding photodiodes and a common output line. The analog switches are sequentially scanned in response to scanning pulses. During the ON period of each scanning pulse, the corresponding analog switch is turned on twice. A first circuit produces a first signal, including an image signal component and a noise signal component, when the analog switch is turned on for the first time, and produces a second signal including only the noise signal component, when the analog switch is turned on for the second time. A second circuit produces the signal derived from the difference between the first and second signals, i.e., the image signal.

Photoelectric conversion apparatus

In a printed matter identifying apparatus of the present invention, the light source illuminates the detecting fields of the note. The reflected light-waves from the detecting fields are lead to the light receivers through the focusing lenses, the diffusion plates, the optical slits, the light conducting paths and red color transmitting and blue color transmitting filters. The output signals from the light receivers are amplified by the amplifiers and sampled by the sampling circuits. Among the sampled color component signals, the red component signals are applied to the subtracter to produce the red component difference signal and the blue component signals are applied to the adder to produce the blue component sum signal. These different signal and sum signal are applied to the comparators respectively and compared with the reference signals read out from the memory. The output signals from the comparators are supplied to the judgment circuit where the judgment of the printed matter is performed.

Printed matter identifying apparatus

The metal detecting device includes first and second coils provided on both sides of a passageway for paper money. This metal detecting device is designed for use in detecting a metal strip embedded in the paper money in order to determine whether the paper money is genuine or counterfeit. The first coil is connected to a high frequency AC source to generate an AC magnetic field. The second coil is connected to a capacitor to form a resonance circuit which resonates at the same frequency as the AC current. The variation of the Q factor of the resonance circuit due to eddy-current losses produced in the metal strip of the paper money is used by a detecting circuit to determine whether the paper money passing through the space between the first and second coils is genuine.

A paper note containing a magnetic strip is transported along a path and adjacent a magnetic detector. This magnetic detector comprises a magnet and a magnetic resistance element provided in the magnetic field generated by the magnet. When the magnetic strip passes through this magnetic field, the change in the field is detected by circuitry. This circuitry detects the change in resistance of the magnetic resistance element. By checking the change in resistance of the resistance element and comparing it with a predetermined value, the existance or non-existance of the magnetic strip can be determined.

Detecting device for detecting a magnetic strip embedded in a sheet

A sheet discriminating apparatus comprises, in addition to a first detecting system for detecting light transmitted through a sheet and a second detecting system for detecting light reflected by the front surface of the sheet, a third detecting system for detecting light reflected by the rear surface of the sheet. The light doses sensed by these detecting systems are integrated by respective integrators for a predetermined period of time, and the outputs obtained from the integrators are coupled to an adder and added together therein. The sum output of the adder and a reference signal generator are compared with each other in a comparator, and the determination as to whether the sheet in question is adequate for re-use or not is effected on the basis of the result of the comparison.
