Ink is reserved in a cartridge case. On this cartridge case, there are fixed an ink jet head and an electric connecting member in a stacked state. The ink jet head is constructed to include: ink supply holes adapted to be supplied with the ink from the cartridge case; ink passages communicating with the ink supply holes; nozzles formed in the leading ends of the ink passages; and ink ejecting device such as piezoelectric elements disposed to correspond to the ink passages for ejecting the ink from the nozzles. These nozzles and the ink passages are substantially perpendicular. Moreover, the stacking direction, the ink supply direction from the cartridge case to the ink supply holes, and the ink ejecting direction from the nozzles are made substantially identical. The electric connecting member is made of a flexible frame or a metal lead frame. Thus, the ink jet head is assembled merely by stacking those individual components in the common direction.

Ink jet head block

An ink jet head includes a nozzle plate having a nozzle through the nozzle plate in its thickness direction, a base plate laminated with the nozzle plate and having an ink supplying hole through the base plate in its thickness direction, a pressure chamber connected to the nozzle and the ink supplying hole in the substantially perpendicular manner and provided with a pressure means on the bonded surface of the nozzle plate and the base plate. The nozzle and the ink supplying hole are made narrower than the pressure chamber and the connecting channel. The plural nozzles, pressure chambers, connecting channels, and ink supplying holes are provided. A common ink chamber connecting to a plurality of the ink supplying holes are provided on the opposite surface to the nozzle plate laminated with the base plate in the perpendicular manner to the nozzle plate. A projection is formed in the nozzle plate and the nozzle is provided through the projection. The ink head enables to prevent bonding materials from flowing into the thin portions during bonding process, to eliminate variations in efficiency of ink ejection at the respective nozzles, and to improve the printing finish in quality.

Ink jet head

A serial printer comprises a printing head, a carrier for carrying the printing head, a platen, and a pair of guide members extending in parallel with the platen for supporting the carrier in a movable manner. An openable member is attached openably to the casing of the printer and supporting one of the guide members. Engaging receivers are formed in the carrier for allowing the one guide member to engage therewith and disengage therefrom in a direction substantially perpendicular to the extending direction of the one guide member. Engaging brackets may be mounted on the printing head for coming into and out of engagement with one of the guide members at a right angle with respect to the extending direction of the one guide member. Moving members may be supported movably in the casing of the printer for supporting the one guide member, when moved, to bring the one guide member into and out of an engagement with the engaging brackets. One of the pair of guide members can be supported by a front cover which can open and close a printer case. Because of the above described construction, the printing head guide can be made compact in size, light in weight and inexpensive to manufacture.

Serial printer

A dot printer includes: a platen and a printing head encased in a printer case in the vertical direction; a paper housing portion provided laterally of the platen; a feed roller disposed laterally of the printing head for feeding a paper taken out of a paper housing portion to the printing head; and a discharge roller disposed laterally of the printing head for discharging the paper outside of the case. With this construction, the printer can be made thin and can also be miniaturized.

Clock movement

A three-handed clock has a single movement to rotationally drive the second, minute and hour hands. The rotary output of the movement is transmitted directly to the second hand and is transmitted through a transmission belt to the minute and hour hands. The use of the transmission belt eliminates the need for a gear train to drive the minute and hour hands thereby providing greater design flexibility and ease of assembly and maintenance.

A circuit unit including a plurality of lead frames which are made of a metal sheet and one of which is used for die-bonding an integrated circuit. The die-bonding lead member is formed to have at least a generally H-shaped portion constructed of a pair of parallel side portions and a connecting portion for connecting the two side portions for die-bonding the integrated circuit thereto. The remaining lead members are separated from said die-bonding one and have individual end portions positioned in the vicinity of the integrated circuit and connected electrically therewith by means of bonding wires. The die-bonding lead member and the remaining lead members are integrated either with a potting resin for protection the integrated circuit or with the potting resin and/or an insulating plate backing the potting resin. The aforementioned two side portions are fixed on a holding member. Also disclosed is a process for fabricating the aforementioned circuit unit.

Circuit unit for timepiece and process for fabricating the same

A method of connecting a coil as mounted in an electric watch or clock in which a lead wire of the coil is made to cross a conductor near the terminal portion of the coil. The lead wire is drawn so as to traverse beyond a conductor to which it is to be attached, and the lead wire is anchored by an anchoring device so as to hold it against the conductor. The lead wire is then bonded to the conductor at the point of traverse.
