There are provided a solvent composition containing tDCE, which does not exert an adverse effect on the global environment, has high solubility and incombustibility, and can maintain initial incombustibility even in use accompanied by a phase change, a cleaning method using the solvent composition, a coating film-forming composition including the solvent composition, and a method of forming a homogeneous coating film using the coating film-forming composition. A solvent composition includes: tDCE; a first HFE having a boiling point of 40 to 65&#xb0; C.; and a second HFE having a boiling point of 70 to 120&#xb0; C., in which a ratio of tDCE is 65 to 80 mass %, a ratio of the first HFE is 5 to 25 mass %, and a ratio of the second HFE is 5 to 25 mass % with respect to a total amount of tDCE, the first HFE, and the second HFE.

A throat plate switching mechanism includes a first throat plate and a second throat plate. The first throat plate is formed with a first needle hole having an elongated hole shape at a stitch point. The second throat plate is formed with a second needle hole. A width of the second needle hole is narrower than a width of the first needle hole. The second throat plate is equipped in the first throat plate such that the second throat plate is switched into a use position at which the second needle hole overlaps the first needle hole, and a retreated position at which the second throat plate does not cover the first needle hole.

A thread cutting device of a sewing machine is provided. The thread cutting device cuts a thread extending between a horizontal shuttle and a throat plate of the sewing machine. The thread cutting device includes a fixed blade, a first thread catcher, a second thread catcher, a driving assembly which moves the first and second thread catchers such that the first thread catcher catches the thread before the second thread catcher catches the thread and pulls the thread toward the fixed blade to cut the thread, and a guide member disposed between the first thread catcher and the driving assembly. The guide member guides the first thread catcher from an advanced position to a thread catching position to catch the thread, and further guides the first thread catcher from the thread catching position to a standby position to turn the first thread catcher toward the fixed blade.

A thread cutting device of a sewing machine cuts a thread below a throat plate through which a needle is inserted. The thread cutting device includes a first thread catcher operable to catch the thread, a second thread catcher operable to catch the thread caught by the first thread catcher, a fixed blade operable to cut the thread caught by the second thread catcher, a driving portion which drives the first thread catcher and the second thread catcher such that the second thread catcher catches the thread caught by the first thread catcher and guides the thread toward the fixed blade, an attaching member to which the fixed blade is fixed and into which the second thread catcher is slidably inserted from above over the fixed blade, and a cover which covers the second thread catcher from above to restrict an upward movement of the second thread catcher.

To provide a process for removing water, capable of maintaining good water removal performance for a long time continuously and constantly. A process for removing water, which comprises a dipping step of dipping an article having water attached on its surface, in a solvent composition comprising at least one member selected from a hydrochlorofluorocarbon, a hydrofluorocarbon and a hydrofluoroether, and an alcohol, as the essential components, to carry out removal of water, a specific gravity separation step of separating water from the solvent composition containing the water removed from the article, by a specific gravity separation method, and a filtration step of filtering the solvent composition having the water removed in the specific gravity separation step, through a coalescer type filter to further remove water remaining in the solvent composition.

A solvent composition comprising 1,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6-tridecafluorohexane (R52-13), trans-1,2-dichloroethylene (tDCE) and a Calcohol, wherein the content of R52-13 is from 25.0 to 75.0% (by mass, and the same applies hereinafter), the content of tDCE is from 15.0 to 74.9% and the content of the Calcohol is from 0.1 to 10.0%, to the total amount of R52-13, tDCE and the Calcohol. This solvent composition can remove oils and greases and flux with a high cleaning performance.

A solvent composition which comprises a fluorinated solvent containing no chlorine atom in its molecule, a hydrocarbon solvent and a glycol ether and which is free from phase separation, wherein the compositional ratio of the fluorinated solvent and the hydrocarbon solvent is a compositional ratio such that a two component mixture composed solely of the fluorinated solvent and the hydrocarbon in such a compositional ratio would separate into two phases.
