An object of the invention is to provide a rubber modified asphalt type of waterproofing composition which can be used in a normal temperature type of spray waterproofing method and can find its application in waterproofing, moisture-proofing, rustproofing, and filling buildings and structure for engineering works, said waterproofing composition coagulates instantaneously to form a stable yet firm waterproofing layer. This rubber modified asphalt type of waterproofing composition comprises a cationic rubber modified asphalt emulsion and an organic coagulating agent.

A method is provided for making a fiber-reinforced slag gypsum cement lightweight hardened product. The method consists essentially of mixing (1) from 5 to 140 parts by weight of aggregates having a maximum size of not larger than 2000 .mu.m to (2) 100 parts by weight of a mixture which comprises 100 parts by weight of Portland cement, (3) from 20 to 350 parts by weight of slag fine powder which has a fineness ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 cm.sup.2 /g as Blaine's specific surface area, (4) from 0 to 20 parts by weight of lime, (5) from 20 to 100 parts by weight of calcium aluminate and gypsum fine powder, (6) 0.01 to 1.5 parts of a setting retardant; mixing water, prefoamed foams and reinforcing fibers with the mixture to obtain a slurry; subjecting the slurry to molding to obtain a molded product; removing the molded product to obtain a hardened product; and curing the hardened product with steam. In the method of the invention, the slurry sets and hardens within a short time, permitting the hardened product to be immediately removed from a mold.

A coating composition comprising (A) a polyorganosiloxane graft copolymer emulsion, (B) a reaction product between an amino functional silane and/or a hydrolyzate thereof and an acid anhydride, (C) colloidal silica, (D) a curing catalyst, and (E) an inorganic filler is useful in coating exterior and interior building materials. The composition is applicable to a substrate to form a coating at room temperature having sufficient extensibility to follow cracks in the underlying substrate as well as low-to-high temperature sensitive performance, moisture permeability, flame retardance, and decorative effect.

An exposed aggregate finishing method for concrete. The method comprises coating the inside faces of a form for concrete with a cement setting retarder, drying, coating the dried faces with a synthetic organic polymer coating material which is soluble in an aqueous alkaline solution of cement, but is insoluble in water; and drying the coated faces. Alternatively, the method may be carried out by coating the inside faces of the form for concrete with the mixture of the cement setting retarder and the organic polymer coating material and drying the coated faces. Concrete is thereafter placed in the concrete form, the form removed and the surface of the molded concrete washed to make the surface rough.
