In a propulsion device including a main wheel having a plurality of driven rollers fitted on and arranged circumferentially along an annular core member so as to be rotatable around tangential lines of the annular core member at respective positions thereof on the annular core member, a pair of drive disks positioned on either side of the main wheel in an individually rotatable manner, a plurality of drive rollers supported along an outer periphery of each drive disk so as to be each rotatable around a rotational center line extending in a skewed relationship to a rotational center line of the corresponding drive disk, and a drive unit for individually rotatively driving the drive disks, a plurality of guide rollers are rotatably supported by a body frame and engage at least one driven roller not engaged by any of the drive rollers from either side.

Frictional propulsion device and vehicle using same

An electric vehicle is provided with a highly simple and convenient structure for detachably retaining a battery, and enabling the vehicle to be lifted by hand. A battery case of the electric vehicle includes an upper extension (F,G) including an upper member (G) configured to be gripped by a hand for lifting the vehicle, and defining a gripping space () for receiving the hand between an upper surface of the battery received in the battery case and the upper member, and a latching structure () is provided between an upper part of the battery and an opposing part of the battery case, the latching structure including an operating member () positioned inside the gripping space.

Provided is an omni-wheel including an annular core member for rotatively supporting a plurality of free roller that is light, economical and strong. The omni-wheel comprises an annular core member having at least one junction defined by mutually circumferentially opposing ends thereof, a plurality of sleeve members defining an inner bore and passed onto the core member and a free roller rotatably supported on an outer surface of each sleeve member in a coaxial relationship, wherein the mutually opposing ends of the annular core member at each junction are fitted into either end of the inner bore of the corresponding sleeve member.

An electric vehicle can include a power unit including a speed reduction device coupled to a motor output shaft. Two systems can be provided which are a drive-power transmission path to transmit rotation of a motor to a wheel hub, and a regenerative-power transmission path to transmit rotation of the hub to the motor. A drive-side one-way clutch is provided between the hub and a second internal gear being the final-stage gear in the drive-power transmission path and is configured to transmit rotation of the drive-side final-stage gear to the hub. A regeneration-side one-way clutch is provided between the hub and a regeneration-side first-stage gear and is configured to transmit rotation of the hub to the regeneration-side first-stage gear.

An omni-wheel of a highly compact and light-weight is provided. The omni-wheel includes a disk-shaped hub member (), a plurality of support arms () extending axially from the peripheral part of the hub member and arranged along a circle concentric to a rotational center line of the hub member at a regular interval, and a free roller () rotatably supported by a free end of each support arm around a rotational center line extending tangentially to a circle concentric to the rotational center line of the hub member and passing through a center of the free roller. The present invention also provides a wheel device incorporated with such a wheel and an inverted pendulum type vehicle using such a wheel device as a tail wheel unit.

A vehicle drive unit includes an axle formed of an output shaft of a motor, and a first support shaft and a second support shaft arranged at both ends of the output shaft. A stator is held on a first holding plate and a second holding plate. The second holding plate and a bearing block form a carrier of planetary gears. The second holding plate includes a bearing holding portion. The second support shaft is supported on the bearing holding portion. The first support shaft is supported on the first holding plate. The output shaft is supported at one end on the first holding plate and the other end on the bearing holding portion.

Vehicle drive unit

A control apparatus for a motor-assisted bicycle detects a pedaling torque applied to a crankshaft with a pedaling force sensor, controls a motor unit of the motor-assisted bicycle in a regenerative control process to charge a battery if the torque value of the detected pedaling torque is equal to or smaller than a predetermined level, and controls the motor unit in an assistive control process if the torque value is greater than the predetermined level. The control apparatus switches between the assistive control process and the regenerative control process depending on the torque value which is detected, increases the predetermined level if the state of charge of the battery becomes lower than a first level, and restores the predetermined level if the state of charge of the battery becomes higher than a second level which is greater than the first level.

Control apparatus for motor-assisted bicycle

A brake structure for a wheel rotating device includes a motor provided in a wheel and is driven for rotating the wheel, and a braking mechanism for actuating brake to brake the wheel. The motor includes: a motor housing; a stator positioned in and fixed to the motor housing; and a rotor positioned in the motor housing and facing to the stator. The braking mechanism includes: a brake rotor to rotate with the wheel; frictional members to be in contact with the brake rotor for generation of braking force; a pressing force generating unit for generating pressing force of the frictional members so that the frictional members are urged to and pressed against the brake rotor by supplying brake fluid through a brake fluid passage to transmit fluid pressure; and a housing for the pressing force generating unit. The brake fluid passage is formed inside a wall of the motor housing, and is connected to a brake fluid supply port provided in the housing for the pressing force generating unit.

Brake structure for wheel rotating device

A wheel rotating device () for an in-wheel motor vehicle includes a motor (), a speed reducer () coupled to an output part of the motor (), a hub () coupled to an output part of the speed reducer (), and a spindle () fixed relative to a vehicle body and supporting the hub () in a manner that permits the hub () to rotate. The hub () is coupled to a wheel () to rotate the wheel (). A stator () of the motor () is disposed inwardly in radial directions of the wheel () along an inner circumferential surface of the wheel (). A rotor () of the motor () is disposed inwardly in radial directions of the stator (). The speed reducer () is disposed between the rotor () and the hub () with bearings provided between the speed reducer () and the hub ().

Wheel rotating device for in-wheel motor vehicle

In a power conversion device including: a converter which steps up or down a voltage of a direct current power supply; and an inverter which converts the direct current voltage obtained by the converter into an alternating voltage to drive an electric motor, a plurality of magnetic parts are arranged above a switching element assembly unit with a water-cooled type second heat sink interposed between the switching element assembly unit and the plurality of magnetic parts, the switching element assembly unit configured by mounting all the switching element modules on upper and lower surfaces of a water-cooled type first heat sink. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a power conversion device capable of housing many switching element modules in a compact space and cooling them effectively, while preventing the influence of a noise due to the magnetic parts from acting on the switching element modules as much as possible.

Power conversion device

A cooling device for a semiconductor element module and a magnetic part, includes: a water-cooled type heat sink having a cooling water passage; a semiconductor element module including a plurality of chips arranged side by side in a circulation direction in the cooling water passage, the semiconductor element module being mounted on the heat sink; and a magnetic part including a core and a winding portion mounted on the core, the magnetic part being mounted on the heat sink or another heat sink. In the cooling device, a plurality of cooling fins is disposed to extend along the circulation direction in the cooling water passage in a manner that the plurality of cooling fins are separated into groups for the respective chips arranged side by side in the circulation direction, and that the groups of the cooling fins are offset from each other in a direction perpendicular to the circulation direction. Accordingly, it is possible to have improved cooling efficiency of a heat sink with cooling fins.

Cooling device for semiconductor element module and magnetic part

A rotor for an electric motor () includes a magnetic assembly () formed into a ring-shaped plate form, a rotor disc () for holding an inner periphery of the magnet assembly, and an outer peripheral ring () for holding an outer periphery of the magnet assembly. The magnet assembly is composed of first and second main magnets (A-A-) having magnetizations directions that are oriented perpendicularly and having orientations that are opposite one another, and first and second submagnets (B-B-) having magnetization directions that are oriented perpendicularly in a circumferential direction and having orientations that are opposite one another. At least one group of magnets selected from the main magnets and the submagnets has a wedge-shaped planar part. The planar parts of the first and second main magnets and first and second submagnets form the same plane of rotation. The magnets are arranged so that the magnetization directions of adjacent magnets are perpendicular to one another.
