In one embodiment, a steam turbine facility includes drain piping in which a shut-off valve is provided, the drain piping being either a valve drain pipe that leads a drain from the main steam regulating valve to an outside thereof, or a casing drain pipe that leads a drain from the turbine casing to an outside thereof. A heat absorber disposed in a range, upstream of the shut-off valve, of the drain piping to absorb heat of the drain piping.

An active sound muffler for reducing a sound to be reduced as emitted from a sound source located at one of the opposite sides of a sound insulating wall and diffracted and transmitted to the other side, the muffler comprises a control loudspeaker arranged at the front end or the other side of the sound insulating wall and adapted to output a control sound with a predetermined amplitude and a predetermined phase, a control microphone arranged above the sound insulating wall and adapted to gauge the sound pressure or the acoustic intensity of the sound to be reduced and that of the control sound and a control circuit for controlling the output of the control loudspeaker so as to minimize the sound pressure or the acoustic intensity, whichever appropriate, based on the outcome of gauging of the control microphone, and the control loudspeaker showing a line sound source characteristic.

Active sound muffler and active sound muffling method

A three-dimension active silencer includes a measuring unit for detecting a signal relating to a sound radiated from a target sound source which is located in a closed box. A plurality of additional sound sources are arranged around the target sound source. A microphone is arranged at a predetermined position for detecting a sound power at the position. A controller is adapted to control respective amplitudes of the additional sound sources which can be different from an amplitude of the target sound source and respective phases of the additional sound sources, based on the signal detected by the measuring unit, in such a manner that the microphone detects the lowest sound power. The additional sound sources are arranged in such a manner that a position xof the target sound source, respective relative positions d(i=1, 2, . . . , N) of the N additional sound sources from the target sound source and a wave number k of the sound radiated from the target sound source can substantially satisfy the following expression.According to the feature, it can be achieved to reduce the total sound power in the closed box including the target sound source.

A nuclear reactor internal pump has a pump shaft connected to a motor and rotatably passing through the bottom of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel, an impeller fitted to a front end portion of the pump shaft, a diffuser disposed on the downstream side of the impeller and having an inner cylinder fixed to the bottom of the reactor pressure vessel to surround the pump shaft, a purge water passage defined between the pump shaft and the inner cylinder to communicate with the inside of the reactor pressure vessel and a purge water supply device for supplying purge water to reactor pressure vessel through the passage. Further, the nuclear reactor internal pump comprises a clad dropping preventive device for trapping clad coming from the reactor pressure vessel in the passage to prevent the clad from dropping.
