A communication control apparatus is configured to calculate a turnaround time per unit data amount between a server to be controlled and each of a plurality of servers including an other server, based on a required time from when the server to be controlled starts transmitting a signal to such other server until the server to be controlled receives a response to the signal from such other server, and a data size of the signal; determine, based on the turnaround time, a priority for selecting from among the plurality of servers a connection destination server to which the server to be controlled is to be connected; and select the connection destination server from among the plurality of servers based on the priority.

A microscope system includes a microscope body, a camera connected to an observation optical system of the microscope body, and an XY stage on which a slide of an observation object is placed and which is configured to move in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction that are orthogonal to each other. The XY stage includes an XY two-dimensional scale plate. The XY two-dimensional scale plate includes a first mark configured to provide X-axis direction axis information and Y-axis direction axis information of the stage, and a second mark which is provided within an observable region of the camera on the same plane as the first mark and which is available for recognizing a position of an XY plane of the first mark in a Z-axis direction at each of a plurality of points by focus detection of the camera.

A microscope system includes an observation optical system including an objective lens, an XY stage capable of moving an XY plane in an X-axis direction and an Y-axis direction, a first change unit configured to change a slant of the XY plane with respect to an optical axis direction of the objective lens, and a second change unit configured to change a slant of a slide placed on the XY stage with respect to the XY plane. Changing the slant of the XY plane by the first change unit is performed based on a first mark arranged on the XY plane at a position observable by the observation optical system. Changing the slant of the slide with respect to the XY plane by the second change unit is performed based on a second mark arranged on the slide.

A slide used for observation by a microscope includes a label area configured to arrange a label, a cover glass area configured to arrange an observation object and a cover glass, a position reference mark arranged in a vacant area between the label area and the cover glass area and configured to specify a reference position of the slide and an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction that are orthogonal to each other, and focus reference marks in which a predetermined pattern is repetitively arranged along two opposing sides of four sides of a periphery of the cover glass area, the focus reference marks being configured to specify a Z-axis direction orthogonal to the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction.

A device mounting apparatus that allows the orientation of a device to be easily adjusted alone. The device mounting apparatus is mounted with a device. A mount includes a seat fixed to a base, and a rotation mechanism portion that is supported by the seat and can change the orientation of the device relative to the seat. An adjustment jig is attachable to and detachable from the mount and includes a driving unit driven by operation. The rotation mechanism includes a supporting unit that supports the device, a changing unit that changes the orientation of the rotation mechanism according to driving of the adjustment jig when the adjustment jig is mounted to the mount, and brakes that fix the orientation of the rotation mechanism when the adjustment jig is detached from the mount.

There is provided an electronic apparatus that can solve the problem with the prior art that a removable electronic device is removed while the removable electronic device is in operation, leading to unfavorable results. A disk unit is removably attached to the main body of the electronic apparatus and receives at least one removable hard disk as a removable electronic device removably attached thereto. A locking mechanism locks together the disk unit and the main body. A CPU controls the locking mechanism to inhibit the disk unit and the main body from being locked together while the removable hard disk is in operation.

Electronic equipment attachable to and removable from a main frame apparatus includes a container and a connector. Guides are formed on both sides of the connector, and aperture portions are provided in these guides such that parts of shutter lock portions are exposed. The lock portions can move between a lock position and a lock releasing position. In the lock position a shutter protects a connection portion of the connector, and in a lock releasing position, the shutter is maintained in a movable state.

Disclosed herein is a card adapter for electrically connecting electrical connecting portions of a card-shaped electronic device such as a CF card to contacts in a slot for a PC card provided in a personal computer. The card adapter includes a chassis , a pair of conducting plates provided on the upper and lower sides of the chassis , and a grounding member , and the like. The grounding member is used to provide an electrical path for electrically connecting a grounding contact portion of the CF card to a grounding part of the slot without using the conducting plates and it is formed into a single part. By using such a grounding member , the card adapter can directly connect the grounding contact portion of the CF card to the grounding part of the slot to accomplish stable and reliable grounding.

A card adapter is provided which may connect/disconnect a card-shaped electronic device and has a chassis , a push member disposed in the chassis for pushing a CF card , an eject lever movably mounted with respect to the chassis , a link arm pivotably mounted on the chassis via a rotation axis , and the like. In the card adapter , one end of the link arm is linked with the push member via a first linking part , and the other end of the link arm is linked with the eject lever via a second linking part, whereby the movement of the eject lever is transmitted to the push member via the link arm . Disclosed herein is a card adapter which can reliably isolate a slot provided in a personal computer and a card-shaped electronic device from a user. The card adapter includes a chassis , a pair of conducting plates provided on the upper and lower sides of the chassis , and the like. The chassis includes a pair of arms L, R, and the tip portions of the arms L, R are provided with a pair of insulating grip portions L, R, respectively, for insulating the pair of conducting plates from a user. According to such a structure, the card adapter can prevent the possibility that static electricity charged in the body of a user is discharged to the slot or to the card-shaped electronic device connected to the card adapter through conductive parts such as the conducting plates and the like so that electronic circuits provided in the card-shaped electronic device or in the slot are broken or damaged.

Disclosed is a portable, hand-held printing apparatus capable of maintaining high printing quality even when the movement of the apparatus becomes unstable due to looseness or wrinkles of a printing medium or even when the moving velocity of the apparatus changes. When a user moves the housing of this apparatus on a printing medium to print on the printing medium by using a printhead, the apparatus itself detects the moving velocity of the housing. On the basis of this detection result, the apparatus adjusts the supply timing of a driving signal for driving the printhead.
