An airbag module includes an airbag cushion in a bag shape and in a prescribed rolled or folded storage configuration and an inflator that supplies gas to the airbag cushion. The airbag cushion includes: a main chamber that expands and deploys from a side frame to a side of an occupant seated in a vehicle seat, a sub chamber that expands and deploys protruding from the main chamber to the side of the occupant, an upper tether that stretches from a portion of the main chamber above the sub chamber to the sub chamber, and a lower tether that stretches from a portion of the main chamber below the sub chamber to the sub chamber.

Vehicular side airbag device

A side airbag device has an airbag cushion with a deployment profile that may readily be controlled and may reliably receive and protect an occupant. The side airbag device has a bag-shaped airbag cushion that utilizes gas supplied from an inflator to expand and deploy to a side of a vehicle seat, an interior base material panel of the airbag cushion lower end vicinity is folded back to an opposite side (far side) of an occupant of the vehicle seat and makes friction contact with an upper surface of a console box arranged between the vehicle seat and an adjacent seat.

Side airbag device

An airbag device is provided with a bag-shaped airbag cushion in a prescribed rolled or folded stowed form, and a cover member for covering an outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form formed of a ductile fabric material containing a plurality of polymer fibers. The cover member has a hard portion in a state in which at least a portion of the plurality of polymer fibers are melted together, and a soft portion that bends more readily than the hard portion in which the percentage of the plurality of polymer fibers that are melted is at least lower than that of the hard portion. The airbag device is characterized by a state in which the cover member is bent along the soft portion, covering at least a portion of the outer periphery of the airbag cushion in stowed form.

Airbag device

A side airbag device comprising a bag-like cushion that is provided to a side section of a seat back of a vehicle seat and inflates and expands toward the side of a passenger in the vehicle seat using a gas. The cushion includes: a first part having four sides and including a first chamber; a second part that has four sides, is adjacent to the first part, and includes a second chamber; and a third part that has four sides, is adjacent to the first part and the second part. When inflated and expanded, the cushion is a triangular column that is a columnar shape having a space open on both the top and bottom and surrounded by the first part in which the first chamber is inflated and expanded, the second part in which the second chamber is inflated and expanded, and the non-inflated third part.

To prevent outward gas leakage between the airbag cushion and inflator during expansion and deployment with a simple configuration. The present invention provides an airbag device including: an airbag cushion having at least two panels; an inflator that discharges gas inside the airbag cushion; a first piece extending from an edge of a first panel of the two panels that is folded in the middle into the airbag cushion; a second piece provided on a portion near the edge of a second panel facing the first piece inside the airbag cushion and sewn to the folded part of the folded first piece; and an insertion passage for the inflator formed from sewing the folded part and the second piece, and extending from inside the airbag cushion to outside.

Airbag device and method for manufacturing airbag device

A vehicle airbag device and a method for manufacturing the same, in which stud bolts for securing the device to the vehicle body can be inserted avoiding the sewn sections, and in which unbalanced stresses are not generated in the panel parts during expansion and deployment. The device having a pair of panel parts, a pair of expansion parts integrally provided on the pair of panel parts, the expansion part of the first panel part overlapping the second panel part, and the expansion part of the second panel part overlapping the first panel part, forming an overlapping section by joining each expansion part to each panel part at a sewn section, and joining the overlapping section with a pair of panel part outer edges, the outer sewn section forming a hollow bag body, and providing inflator insertion holes and bolt insertion holes provided through the overlapping section.

Vehicle airbag device and manufacturing method therefor

An improved modularization of an airbag cushion covered with a cover member and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. A first press is performed on the first portion of the cover member in a state where the folded airbag cushionis not covered with the cover member. The first portion has at least a portion that includes a position corresponding to an inflator within the folded airbag cushion. Next, the folded airbag cushion is covered with the cover member, and in the covered state, a second press is applied to at least a part of the second portion of the cover member excluding the first portion.

Airbag device and method for manufacturing same

PROBLEM: To provide a side airbag device that can be stored compactly. RESOLUTION MEANS The present invention is an airbag device to be stowed in a vehicle seat, comprising: an airbag cushion that restrains an occupant by expanding and deploying; an inflator arranged on the inner side of the seat frame which supplies expansion gas to the airbag cushion; and a cover member made of a ductile material that melts and shrinks under heat and pressure to retain the airbag cushion. The airbag cushion includes a rear chamber section where the inflator is stowed, and a front chamber section that extends forward from the rear chamber section that is arranged outside of the seat frame when stowed. The cover member is then configured to heat and pressurize the region corresponding to the front chamber section of the airbag cushion, thereby pressurizing and retaining the relevant section of the airbag cushion.

Airbag device and method for manufacturing the same

This invention relates to a side airbag device stored inside a vehicle seat and fixed to a side frame. The device includes an airbag that expands and deploys to restrict an occupant; an inflator that supplies expansion gas to the airbag; and a bracket connected to the side frame that holds the airbag and the inflator. The airbag includes a prepush chamber having an inflator stored therein and mainly deploys inside of the side frame; and a main chamber connected to the prepush chamber and mainly deploys forward of the side frame. The bracket includes a first surface oriented in the forward direction of the vehicle; and a second surface oriented to the inside of the seat in the width direction of the vehicle. When the airbag is stored by being folded and/or rolled, at least the main chamber is disposed on the first surface of the bracket.

Side airbag device, vehicle seat provided with same, and method for manufacturing side airbag device

An airbag cushion including a cushion rear portion on the inner side of a frame side plate part, a cushion folded portion folded to the outer side of the frame side plate part, and a cushion front portion on the outer side of the frame side plate part. A cover enveloping portion of a cover member has a first end portion engaged with the cushion rear portion and a second end portion that covers a front surface of the cushion folded portion to the cushion front portion and is engaged with a back surface of the cushion folded portion. A cover extension portion connected to the cover enveloping portion by a joint portion and is engaged with the frame side plate part. The cover enveloping portion or the cover extension portion is provided with a weak portion (breakable).

The present invention is a side airbag device housed in the side support part of a vehicle seat and includes an airbag for restraining an occupant and an inflator. The airbag includes a first bag housing the inflator which is capable of inflating and deploying, and a second bag capable of inflating and deploying on the side of the first bag. The second bag is configured to be deployed by inflation gas flowing in from the first bag. At the upper edge of the second bag, an inclined part is formed that is inclined to be lower at the front thereof than at the rear thereof when viewed from the vehicle width direction. The front portion of the inclined part is configured to be located lower than the center line extending in the longitudinal direction of the upper arm of the occupant seated in a vehicle seat.

The present invention is an airbag device mounted on one side of a vehicle seat in which both ends of a seat-shaped cushion that are opposed in horizontal and longitudinal directions during expansion and deployment are respectively bent a plurality of times and formed into molded parts R, R, and is provided with a first holding memberthat holds the first molded part Ron one end of either of the ends at least until the start of expansion and deployment and a second holding memberthat holds the second molded part Ron the other end at least until the start of expansion and deployment.

A far side side airbag device provided on the side part in the center in the width direction of a backrest portion of either of separated seats arranged in the width direction of a vehicle, which restrains the movement of an occupant. A cushion and an inflator expands and deploys the cushion. The cushion has a first portion and a second portion that expand and deploy onto the front surface of each of the adjacent separated seats when a signal is received to restrain the occupant and capture the side part of the occupant, and a center portion provided in between the first portion and the second portion. A protruding part is formed on the center portion in order to capture the head of the occupant.

Side airbag apparatus

An airbag which is a constituent of a side airbag device installed in the vehicle seat according to the present invention is provided with a main chamber which deploys toward the front of a side support portion of the seat, and a sub-chamber which accommodates an inflator and which deploys at a position inward of the main chamber in the width direction of the vehicle. The main chamber is divided, by means of a baffle panel, into a main front chamber at the front, and a main rear chamber at the rear. The sub-chamber is linked to the main rear chamber at a side in the width direction of the vehicle. When the airbag is deployed, the baffle panel extends along a front edge of the sub-chamber, as viewed from the width direction of the vehicle.

Vehicle seat

An airbag cushion, which expands and deploys between adjacent seats in a passenger compartment, comprising a top panel and bottom panel that are separated and face each other vertically when deployed, side panels connecting the edges of the top panel and the bottom panel, a protruding part that protrudes upward from the top panel, a cylindrical inflator attached along the inner surface of the side panel on the side of the protruding part is stowed in a folded state by overlaying the top panel and the side panel provided with the attachment part of the inflator, and lining up a first roll part which is the protruding part rolled up, a fold-back part which is the first side part folded back to cover the attachment part of the inflator, and a second roll part on top of the top panel with the second roll part in the center.
