A lightweight regenerative brake having a large braking force is provided. A regenerative brakecomprises a brake disc () and a pair of stators () to perform regenerative braking. This regenerative brake () reduces the heat generated in the brake disc (), because a part of the kinetic energy of a railway car is regenerated by generation of electricity in a tertiary circuit of the power source side when the brake is applied, and consequently the amount of energy converted into heat energy is decreased. Compared to a conventional regenerative brake, this regenerative brake () enables the disc () to be made thinner and dispenses with a cooling device such as a fan. Accordingly, a small-sizes and lightweight brake having a large braking force can be constituted using this regenerative brake ().

Regenerative brake

A gas component detector having a gas component detecting element made of sintered metal oxide for indicating an electrical resistance according to the components of a gas to be detected. A pair of electrodes transmit the electrical resistance indicated by the gas component detecting element and a ceramic tube has through-holes into which said pair of electrodes are inserted. The ceramic tube has a cylindrical ceramic heater which is prepared by having a piece of wet ceramic sheet on which a print pattern is formed with metal paste for forming a heat generator wound on and bonded to the outer wall of the ceramic tube before sintering. The heater is then sintered to be integral with the ceramic tube.

Gas component detector

A gas sensing element having an oxide semiconductor element is provided with lead wires partially embedded therein. The lead wires are formed of a nickel core and a cover layer of at least 5.mu. in thickness and made of platinum or platinum alloy containing from 1 to 10 percent low catalytic metal.

Gas sensing element

A gas detecting element including a semiconductor wafer formed of a transition-metal oxide with an electrode layer bonded to both sides of the wafer and a protective layer overlaid on the surface of the electrode layer. A metal lead wire is attached to each electrode layer by means of an electrically conductive adhesive wherein the region at which the metal lead wire is bonded to the electrode layer is reinforced by an insulating adhesive that covers the region. A process for producing such a gas detecting element is also disclosed.

Gas detecting element and process for producing the same

A plug-in type oxygen detector for detecting oxygen contained in exhaust gas is disclosed which comprises a series connected, sintered N and P type oxide semiconductors which have temperature dependencies in the same direction and respond to a partial pressure of oxygen in exhaust gas, an output being derived from a common junction of the semiconductors.

Temperature compensated plug-in type oxygen detector for exhaust gas

A gas detector including a gas sensitive element that provides an electrical resistance which varies with the type of gas detected and lead wires for conducting the electrical signal from the gas sensitive element. A porcelain tube supports the gas sensitive element the lower part of which is positioned within a slot in the tube. Through holes in the tube receive the lead wires. A housing encloses the tube. Only the upper part of said gas sensitive element which is not positioned within the tube is provided with electrodes.
