A power supply device includes a main power supply, a sub-power supply, a main power supply path, a sub-power supply path, a power supply selector switch, and a load selector switch group. The main power supply path is connected to the main power supply. The sub-power supply path is different from the main power supply path and is connected to the sub-power supply. The load selector switch group is disposed between the main power supply path and the sub-power supply path, and the load unit, and performs switching so as to connect one of the main power supply path and the sub-power supply path to the load unit and to disconnect the other from the load unit, according to switching of the power supply selector switch.

Power supply device

One-side plates of first and second condensers are connected to a one-side electrode of one of a plurality of secondary cells. First switches connect the other-side electrode of the secondary cell to the other-side plate of one of the first condenser and the second condenser. An MCU controls the first switches to connect the other-side electrode of the secondary cell to the other-side plate of the first condenser when the plurality of secondary cells is in a first state, and then connect the other-side electrode of the secondary cell to the other-side plate of the second condenser when the plurality of secondary cells is in a second state. A differential amplifier circuit outputs a differential voltage of voltages of the other-side plates of the first condenser and the second condenser. A cell monitoring IC detects states of the secondary cells based on the differential voltage.

Secondary cell state detector

A battery state notifying unit, a bus bar module, a battery pack and a battery state monitoring system are provided, and allow for reduction of the number of electric wires guided to a unit monitoring a battery state, and the signal voltage applied to the electric wires. A battery power source system is provided with a battery state notifying unit corresponding to each battery pack. The battery state notifying unit generates battery state information indicating the electrode voltage and temperature of the battery cells 21, and transmits the battery state information to the battery state monitoring unit. The battery state information is based on a cell voltage signal corresponding to electrode voltage outputted from terminal fittings of the battery pack, and a cell temperature signal corresponding to voltage outputted from the temperature sensor.

Battery state notifying unit, bus bar module, battery pack, and battery state monitoring system

A voltage measurement device for measuring an output voltage of a battery assembly includes voltage addition sections that add a predetermined voltage value to output voltages of the cells, voltage detection sections that detect addition voltages which are output voltages of the voltage addition sections corresponding to the cells of the individual blocks, A/D converting sections that digitize analog voltage signals of the addition voltages detected by the voltage detection sections, and a control section that outputs voltage measurement request signals to the voltage detection sections respectively, and that acquires the addition voltages, subtracts the predetermined voltage value from the acquired addition voltages and provides voltage values after the subtractions, as the output voltages of the cells.

Voltage measurement device for battery assembly

The battery voltage adjusting device includes: a voltage detecting means provided corresponding to a block including at least one unit cell of an on-vehicle high voltage battery consisting of a plurality of the unit cells connected in series and detecting a terminal voltage of the unit cell in the block; a charge-discharge means charging or discharging the unit cell in the block on the basis of the terminal voltage of the unit cell detected by the voltage detecting means; a temperature detecting means detecting a temperature of the unit cell; and a changing means changing a time period, from a time point when the charge-discharge means finishes to charge or discharge the unit cell to a time point when the voltage detecting means detects the terminal voltage of the unit cell, on the basis of the temperature of the unit cell detected by the temperature detecting means.

Battery voltage adjusting device

The state-of-charge adjusting apparatus which enables to shorten a time to reach a capacity equalization is provided. A CPU extracts a block consisting of a plurality of unit cells connected continuously to each other, the plurality of the unit cells each having a voltage higher than a target voltage, and connects both ends of each block to a discharge resistance to make each block discharge. Thereafter, the CPU extracts a unit cell having a voltage higher than the target voltage and connects both ends of the extracted unit cell to the discharge resistance to make the extracted unit cell discharge until the voltage of the extracted unit cell reaches the target voltage.

State-of-charge adjusting apparatus

Providing a charge condition adjusting apparatus, which can shorten a time for equalization of each charge in unit cells, a low-voltage CPU selects each smallest unit cell in the each cell block, which has each smallest voltage between the both electrodes, from among plural unit cells structuring the cell blocks. The low-voltage CPU controls ON/OFF of a block-discharging switch to connect the both electrodes of each cell block and each block-discharging resistor for discharging the each cell block until the each voltage between the both electrodes of the selected smallest unit cell reaches the target voltage. Successively, the low-voltage CPU controls ON/OFF of a selecting switches and a cell-discharging switch to connect the both electrodes of each unit cell and each cell-discharging resistor to discharge the each unit cell until the each voltage between the both electrodes of the unit cells reaches the target voltage.

A method and an apparatus for regulating state of charge in a battery assembly in which respective voltages across unit cells can be equalized in a short time. Among a plurality of unit cells Bto B. . . Bn, the unit cell having the largest voltage across the cell is referred to as the largest unit cell, and the unit cell having the smallest voltage across the cell is referred to as the smallest unit cell. Electric charge is transferred from the largest unit cell to a capacitor Cso that the voltage across the capacitor Cmay be made higher than the voltage across the largest unit cell. Thereafter, the electric charge is transferred from the capacitor Cto the smallest unit cell thereby to equalize the voltages across the unit cells.

Method and apparatus for regulating state of charge in battery assembly

A method and apparatus are provided, by which a state of charge of a battery is accurately computed without being influenced by the polarization effect. An estimated voltage of the battery in a constant load discharge with a predetermined large current value is estimated from a voltage-current characteristic when the discharge current of the constant load discharging process by the battery that is in an equilibrium state is decreasing from the predetermined large current value corresponding to a maximum supplying electric power to the load. A difference between the estimated voltage and an open circuit voltage, which estimates the estimated voltage and is a terminal voltage of the battery that is in an equilibrium state before the start of the constant load discharge by using the predetermined large current value, is calculated. Then, the difference is memorized by first memory means for memorizing a residual voltage drop defining as the residual voltage drop due to a residual polarization at the end of the discharging process of the battery . The residual voltage drop memorized by the first memory means is added to the estimated voltage of the battery , thereby a present charging capacity of the battery is computed.

Battery capacity calculating method and device therefor

A battery capacity detection system according to the invention is provided with: a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the battery; a full-charge voltage calculation section for calculating a voltage of the battery in a full charge state by using the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor; and an SOC calculation section for calculating an SOC of the battery by using the voltage of the battery in the full charge state calculated by using the temperature in the full-charge voltage calculation processing section.

Battery capacity detection system with temperature correction

A remaining capacity measuring apparatus of this invention operates as follows. A current value and a voltage value from a current sensor and a voltage sensor respectively provided in a battery connected to a hybrid mechanism portion are sampled every 1 millisecond. Each time when eight pairs (N,) of this current value data and voltage value data are collected, the current values and voltage values are each averaged. When 100 pairs (N,) of the average current values and the average voltage values are obtained, the 100 pair data are plotted on a voltage-current coordinate system. A correlation between the current and voltage is obtained based on the plural data plotted on this coordinate system. When a strong negative correlation is indicated, an approximate line indicating a relation between the voltage and current is obtained. By substituting a predetermined current value for this line, a voltage value is defined and a value corresponding to this voltage value is regarded as a current remaining capacity.

Battery remaining capacity measuring apparatus suitable for hybrid car

A survivor capacity measuring apparatus for a battery is presented. The apparatus is constructed so as to determine whether or not the battery is deteriorated and indicates the result of this determination to a user. In the apparatus, a data read unit reads the current flowing from the battery to a load and the voltage of the battery. A survivor capacity calculation unit periodically collects the thus read current and voltage, detects the survivor capacity of the battery on the basis of the thus collected current and voltage, integrates the collected current, and determines the deterioration of the battery from a first survivor capacity of the battery before a predetermined amount has been reached and a second survivor capacity of the battery after the predetermined amount has been reached, when the integrated current has reached the predetermined amount.

Survivor capacity measuring apparatus for a battery

Each voltage sensor is provided one to one for a plurality of batteries, for detecting a terminal voltage of each battery. A current sensor detects a current flowing from the plurality of batteries to a load. A reading section reads for each battery a voltage value detected by a corresponding voltage sensor and a current value detected by the current sensor at every predetermined period of time, and collects a predetermined number of detected voltage values and corresponding detected current values. A detection value inputting circuit samples a voltage across a battery connected to a load and the current flowing through the load. A correlation decision section obtains a voltage-to-current correlation coefficient between the plurality of voltage data and the plurality of current data. A nonvolatile memory stores as capacity data the inclination and intercept of a voltage-to-current approximate straight line and the battery remaining capacity attained on the basis of the approximate straight line. A data employing range determining section reads out the capacity data from the nonvolatile memory when the correlation coefficient exceeds a given value, determines a data employing range on the basis of the capacity data and further deletes the voltage data and the corresponding current data which do not exist within the data employing range. An approximate straight line calculating section calculates a voltage-to-current approximate straight line on the basis of the plurality of voltage data and current data left after the deletion of the data not existing within the data employing range. A battery remaining capacity calculating section substitutes a predetermined reference current into the approximate straight line to obtain a voltage corresponding thereto and obtains a battery remaining capacity corresponding to this voltage. The data employing range determining section stores the data on the inclination and intercept of the approximate straight line and the data on the corresponding battery remaining capacity as a set in the nonvolatile memory.

Battery capacity measuring system employing a voltage-to-current

In each time slot, along with processing collected sets of amperage data and voltage data and a data on a reference current to provide a first value as an estimated residual capacity for a normal travelling, the amperage data are processed to provide a second value representative of a discharge quantity, and the second value is subtracted from the first value to provide a third value as a residual capacity for a high load condition, permitting the first value to be displayed in the normal travelling and the third value to be displayed under the high load condition, as this condition is detected by checking a significance of correlation in dispersion of the collected sets of data.
