An information apparatus includes a housing, first and second strain detectors, and first and second stress collectors that transmit distortion applied to a side surface of the housing to the first and the second strain detectors, respectively. Upon having the same amount of distortion is applied to the side surface of the housing, the first and strain detectors outputs different values a processing circuit. This information apparatus has a small size and can be accurately controlled.

Information apparatus

A physical quantity sensor includes a beam-like vibrating body and a fixing part supporting both ends of the beam-like vibrating body. A driving element is formed on a central portion of the beam-like vibrating body, and feedback elements are formed on both ends. A physical quantity acting on the beam-like vibrating body is detected by causing natural vibration in the beam-like vibrating body and detecting a natural frequency of the vibrating body. This enables reliable detection of a physical quantity, such as a strain or load, acting on an object.

Physical quantity sensor

An angular velocity sensor includes a tuning-fork-shaped substrate (), drivers () that are provided on the arms forming a tuning fork and vibrate the arms; monitors () for detecting vibrations generated by the drivers (); and detectors () for detecting displacement of vibrations made in application of an angular velocity. The drivers (), the monitors (), and the detectors () are made of a lower electrode layer, a piezoelectric thin film, and an upper electrode layer formed on the arms. The outer peripheral edge of the piezoelectric thin film is shaped like a step having at least one flat portion. The flat portion along the outer peripheral edge has no upper electrode layer formed thereon. This structure prevents short circuits between the lower electrode layer and the upper electrode layer.

Angular-velocity sensor

A resistor having reliability in electrical connection between an upper surface electrode and a side face electrode, and in bonding strength between a first thin film and a second thin film is provided. The resistor includes upper surface electrodes formed on a main surface a substrate and side face electrodes disposed to side faces of the substrate and connected electrically to the pair of upper surface electrodes, respectively. The upper surface electrode includes a first upper surface electrode layer and a bonding layer overlying the first upper surface electrode layer. The side face electrode includes a first thin film disposed to a side face of the substrate, a second thin film composed of copper-base alloy film and connected electrically to the first thin film, a first plating film formed by nickel plating for covering the second thin film, and a second plating film covering the first plating film.

Resistor and production method therefor

The resistor of the present invention comprises a substrate, a pair of upper electrode layers disposed on one surface of the substrate, and a resistor layer connected to the pair of upper electrode layers, wherein the upper electrode layer includes a first thin film layer that strongly adheres to the substrate and the resistor layer, and a second thin film layer having volume resistivity lower than the volume resistivity of the first upper electrode thin film layer. Further, the resistor of the present invention comprises a pair of side electrodes, electrically connected to the upper electrode layers, at the end portion of the substrate, and the side electrode includes a first side thin film layer and a second side thin film layer, and the material that forms the second side thin film layer has a solid solubility with the first side thin film layer.

Resistor

In a power supply apparatus having voltage doubler rectifier circuit ( ) connected to secondary winding ( B) of transformer ( ), diode ( ) is connected between transistor ( ) and primary winding ( A) of transformer ( ). By detecting an AC voltage at a junction point between primary winding ( A) of transformer ( ) and diode ( ) thereby performing over-voltage protection, the difference between the maximum operating voltage and the no-load operating voltage is decreased and the voltage during no-load operation is lowered and thus small-sized power supply apparatus and peripheral equipment can be provided.

Power supply apparatus

The present invention relates to an infrared detector element to detect infrared rays by means of a pyroelectric material, and an infrared sensor unit and an infrared detecting device using the infrared detector element and has an object of realizing an omnidirectional infrared detector element that can gain an output against an object to be detected moving in whatever directions. In order to accomplish this object, the present invention proposes a setup comprising a pair of first electrodes ( ), which have a function of absorbing infrared rays, are close to trapezoidal in shape, respectively, and are disposed on one of the surfaces of a pyroelectric material ( ) with electrical connections made in such a way that the first electrodes are opposite to each other in polarity, and a pair of second electrodes ( ) disposed on the other surface of the pyroelectric material ( ) and electrically connected with each other, in which the lower side of the close to trapezoidal shape of the first electrodes ( ) of one hand is aligned in the same direction as the lower side of the close to trapezoidal shape of the second electrodes ( ) of the other hand, thereby producing an effect of gaining an output against an object to be detected making a movement from whatever directions.
