A bobbin carrier in a spinning machine for carrying out full-bobbins from one of a pair of carriers and carrying in empty bobbins to the other of the carriers through peg trays by a full-bobbins-carrying conveyor and an empty-bobbin-carrying conveyor to a plurality of spinning machines arranged in parallel with one another. An endless belt is provided over both of the carriers and the full-bobbins-carrying conveyor and the empty-bobbin-carrying conveyor, and pulleys guide the belt, further a motor is operatively connected to the belt to drive the belt. A pair of linear guiding members are arranged so as to extend along the belt and gasp pegs of peg trays. The belt carries the peg trays with grasping the trays elastically with pressure in cooperation with the guiding members. A full-bobbin-introducing portion is provided in the full-bobbin-carrying conveyor and allows giving and receiving of the peg trays from the belt to the full-bobbin-carrying conveyor. An empty-bobbin-discharging portion is provided in the empty-bobbin-carrying conveyor and allows giving and receiving of the peg trays from the empty-bobbin-carrying conveyor to the belt.

A retainer frame supportiing pat type clearer members is arranged in opposed relation to a draft roller. The retainer frame is inserted at both longitudinal end portions thereof into insert grooves of supporting brackets mounted on roller stands or draft roller bearing members placed on the roller stands. The retainer frame is formed by folding a metal plate. Each of the clearer members is formed with stopper lugs at both side edges thereof. With this arrangement, each clearer member may be easily installed into the retainer frame, and a uniform projection of the clearer member from the retainer frame may be maintained.

The supply chute of the present invention operates to supply empty bobbins to a bobbin reserve unit provided above a conveyor for transporting empty bobbins to a spinning frame, while maintaining the empty bobbins in substantially horizontal position as they fall down the chute. The chute presents a zigzag-shaped route in the direction of movement of the empty bobbins, which route is comprised of a plurality of subtantially vertically extending sections each having a length smaller than the length of the empty bobbin, each section being offset laterally with respect to the adjoining section or sections.

The spinning frame of the invention comprises a passage through which empty bobbins returned by conveyor means provided above the spinning frame are guided towards empty bobbin supply sections associated with automatic bobbin changer annexed to the spinning frame. Halfway in the guide passage are a branch point for branching the guide passage into left and right side sections and a distributer for distributing empty bobbins. Below said branch point and halfway in the left and right side sections are storage sections for storing the empty bobbins in horizontal position.

A dust removing mechanism is applied to each unit of an open-end spinning machine. In each spinning unit provided with an opening roller and a spinning rotor for creating a yarn from fibers supplied from the opening roller, a casing partly surrounds the opening roller and a dust removing opening is formed in the casing. In such mechanism, a dust removing zone is formed so that it communicates with the dust removing opening and the dust removing zone is divided into a dust separating zone and a dust discharging zone. An air-takein opening is provided so as to create an auxiliary air stream, by which the separation of dust from the useful fibers can be effectively carried out.

An apparatus for forming transfer tail windings on a bobbin includes a bobbin having an annular groove adjacent one end thereof which in the case of a tapered bobbin, would be located adjacent the larger diameter end. The annular groove is provided with a radially disposed wall and an inclined wall which is tapered outwardly from the radial wall toward the end of the bobbin. A spring-biased pivoted yarn regulator extends transversely across the path of the yarn from the spinning unit to the deepest portion of the annular groove on the bobbin and is provided with a yarn guide portion opposite the inclined surface of the annular groove. A centering disc engages the end of the bobbin adjacent the annular groove and is provided with a plurality of yarn engaging notches spaced about the circumference thereof. The yarn from the spinning unit is directed over the yarn guide portion of the yarn regulator around the bottom of the annular groove and over the top of the annular groove back toward the yarn regulator. Upon initiating rotation of the bobbin, the free end of the yarn will be shifted laterally into engagement with a notch on the centering disc to wrap the free end of the yarn diagonally about the inclined surface so that subsequent windings will overlie the free end of the yarn. After a predetermined number of turns, the yarn regulator will be pivoted against the bias of the spring to release the yarn from the yarn guide portion whereupon the winding of the yarn upon the main portion of the bobbin will commence.

Apparatus for forming transfer tail windings on a bobbin in an open-end

A pressure roller is generally disposed between the yarn discharge portion of a spinning unit and a yarn oscillating device of a winding unit in a spinning unit. The pressure roller is in contact with a drive roller to form a nip therebetween and is formed with a notch provided in one end edge of the pressure roller to transport the yarn into the nip. The notch intersects the end face of the pressure roller at boundary lines extending from the end edge thereof inwardly. According to this invention, one of the boundary lines provided on the downstream side of a rotational direction of the pressure roller comprises at least two portions extending out of line, and distances between tangential planes to the two portions of the one of the boundary lines and planes parallel to the tangential planes and including a center of the pressure roller are so selected that the distance with respect to the portion including the outermost end of the one of the boundary lines is larger than that with respect to the portion including the innermost end of the one of the boundary lines.

Disclosed is an open-end spinning machine which comprises a feed roller and a top roller for positively feeding a spun yarn from a spinning unit, a traverse guide for traversing the spun yarn in a direction perpendicular to the spun yarn feeding direction, a winding drum for frictionally rotating a conical surface bobbin for winding the traversed yarn to form a conical cheese, a guide or guides for absorbing yarn path length variations caused by the traverse motion of the spun yarn and by the conical angle of the conical cheese during the winding operation, a device for adjusting the guide in response to the conical angle of the conical cheese. By utilizing this machine, a good-shaped conical cheese of an open-end spun yarn having a uniform hardness along the axial direction of the cheese is obtained. Furthermore, this machine can be utilized for winding of various cheeses having various conical angles.

Open-end spinning machine

A system for transporting cheeses produced by one spinning machinery into a container located in a predetermined position near the end of the spinning machinery is disclosed. The system comprises a first conveyer extending along the major length of the spinning machinery to receive the doffed cheeses thereon directly from the spinning machinery, and a second conveyor extending between the end of the first conveyer and the container to receive and transport the cheeses from the first conveyer to the container. The second conveyer is driven at a higher speed than the first conveyer to allow the cheeses to be automatically contained in the container which has an inner diameter slightly larger than an outer diameter of the cheese in a manner which allows the bobbins of the cheeses to be stacked in end-to-end relationship.

A yarn handling machine includes bobbins on which yarns are wound, forming cheeses. At the beginning of the yarn winding operation, transfer tail windings must be provided on the end of the bobbin. An arrangement for providing transfer tail windings includes a yarn guide movable between an operative position closely adjacent to the bobbin and an inoperative position spaced from the bobbin sufficient to prevent interference of the yarn guide with the formation of the cheese. In the operative position, the yarn guide serves for providing the transfer tail windings.

A yarn winding mechanism includes a reference point through which the yarn always passes during yarn piecing-up and normal winding operations, a pair of yarn taking-out rollers disposed above the reference point, and a traversing device from which the yarn is wound onto a cone cheese. In order to cause the winding mechanism to soon begin and then continue the normal winding operation after completion of the yarn piecing-up, a device for compensating changes in yarn tension is disposed between the traversing device and the yarn taking-out rollers with a yarn guide surface extending generally parallel to the axis of the taking-out roller, and the upper taking-out roller is formed with a yarn catch in one end face edge thereof on the larger diameter side of the cone cheese, the yarn catch being arranged in an optimum position with respect to the parallelly extending surface of the tension compensating device and the reference point.

A textile machine made by assembling a plurality of unit textile machines. Each unit textile machine is provided with a plurality of unit machines, and each unit machine is provided with a yarn package forming mechanism. Each unit textile machine is provided with a unit conveyer belt disposed along a longitudinal direction of the unit textile machine at a position adjacent to the yarn package forming mechanisms. When the unit textile machines are assembled as one body, their unit conveyer belts are aligned and form a combined conveyer belt. At least one step is provided between any two adjacent unit conveyer belts or a unit conveyer belt of a unit textile machine and an auxiliary conveyer belt mounted on a head stock of the assembled textile machine. So as to always maintain the assembled conveyer belt in a clean condition, a cleaning device may be disposed at a position between two adjacent unit conveyer belts.

An improved device for supporting a spindle of an open-end spinning apparatus is provided with a ring shaped resiliently yieldable member rigidly disposed in a space between a bearing supporting the spindle and an inside cylindrical wall of a bushing member, and an additional ring shaped member rigidly disposed in the above-mentioned space separately from the resiliently yieldable member. To prevent accumulation of heat in the spindle, a plurality of grooves are formed on the peripheral surface of the bearing and/or inside surface of the resiliently yieldable member, and/or the additional member, respectively.

A yarn package transportation vehicle comprises a turnable table having a plurality of cylindrical containers arranged in circle thereon. Yarn packages produced by a spinning machinery are canistered in the containers. The vehicle is positioned adjacent to one end of the spinning machinery so that one of the canisters is set in a canistering position in which the canister receives the yarn packages therein. When one container is fully loaded with the yarn packages, adjacent container is readily brought into the canistering position by turning the table a predetermined angle.

In a textile machine provided with displaceable means for carrying out an operation utilizing air pressure, a main duct is disposed along the length of the machine, and the main duct is provided with a longitudinal aperture covered with a flexible covering member which permits formation of a space by deforming the skirt portion of the covering member. A connecting pipe of the displaceable means is inserted into the main duct through the space and the connecting portion is sealed by a sealing member secured to the pipe during the displacement of the displaceable means.
