An oral composition which comprises containing therein synthetic amorphous zirconosilicate containing 0.1 to 10 wt % of zirconium in terms of ZrO.sub.2 based on SiO.sub.2 and a fluoride compound. The fluoride compound is retained stable for a long period of time.

Oral composition containing zirconium-bonded synthetic amorphous silicate

A stable toothpaste composition which includes as an abrasive amorphous silica or silicate having a specific surface area of 5 to 100 m.sup.2 /g as measured by BET method with nitrogen adsorption and a specific surface area of 100 to 400 m.sup.2 /g as measured by BET method with water vapor adsorption.

Transparent and translucent dentifrice compositions improved in cleaning ability, stain removing ability and feeling are disclosed which comprise a mixture of an amorphous silica and an amorphous silicate containing at least 70% by weight of SiO.sub.2 which is partially inter-bonded with 1-10% by weight of an oxide of a metal selected from the group consisting of aluminum, magnesium and calcium and a transparent vehicle having substantially the same refractive index as that of the silica, the ratio of the silica to the silicate being in the range of 4:6 to 6:4 on a weight basis, the content of said mixture being in the range of 1 to 25% by weight of the composition, and the pH of the composition being in the range of 4.5 to 10.

Dentifrice composition

A dentifrice composition having an excellent storage-stability which comprises a zirconium-bonded synthetic amorphous silicate (zirconosilicate) with a zirconium content of 0.1 to 10% by weight as ZrO.sub.2 based on SiO.sub.2 and a dentifrice vehicle containing water, humectant and flavor, and by adjusting the refractive index of the vehicle substantially identical with that of the silicate, the dentifrice composition can be made transparent.
