Electrophotographic transfer paper comprising base paper having provided on at least one side thereof a coating layer mainly comprising a pigment and a binder at a solids content of 2 to 12 g/m , which has an Oken's smoothness of 60 to 300 seconds on each side thereof, an air permeability of 10 to 90 seconds, and a coefficient of paper-to-paper friction of 0.5 to 0.9 at 28&deg; C. and 85% RH. The transfer paper has excellent running properties on a digital full-color copying machine or printer of indirect dry electrophotographic system irrespective of the environment of use, especially in a high humidity environment, while proving a satisfactory image.

Electrophotographic transfer paper

The present invention relates to transfer paper in electrophotography that shrinks by no more than 0.45% in a direction crossing a flow in making paper process and which has a two sideness shrinkage difference in a crossing direction ranging 0.02 to &minus;0.02%. The present invention also relates a process for producing electrophotographic transfer paper comprising the steps of feeding pulp suspension liquid onto at least one wire to form a paper layer in making paper process, in which a ratio between feeding speed of the pulp suspension liquid and moving speed of wire is controlled to cause a propagating velocity ratio of longitudinal waves of a produced transfer paper in the range from 1.1 to 1.5.

Transfer paper for electrophotography and a method for producing thereof

A double-side and full color transfer paper for electrophotography having a paper layer divided into a felt side and a wire side, wherein the difference between the orientation of fiber in the felt side and that in the wire side of the paper layer is 0.1 to &minus;0.1, and both of residual curvature of the transfer paper in a MD (in a movement direction of a paper machine) and that in a CD (in a direction perpendicular to the MD) are included in a range from 7 to &minus;7 m,and the expansion ratio of the transfer paper in the CD is 0.55 or lower, if necessary.
