A method of producing an electrostatic latent image developing toner includes: preparing a resin particle dispersion by polymerizing, in a water-based solvent, a polymerizable monomer that comprises a polymerizable monomer comprising a vinyl-based double bond; extracting a liquid from the resin particle dispersion by heating; mixing the distilled resin particle dispersion with a colorant particle dispersion prepared by dispersing a colorant; and aggregating the resin particles, the pigment particles and a release agent particles to form aggregate particles, and then conducting heating to fuse the aggregate particles.

Method of producing electrostatic latent image developing toner

A magenta toner for developing electrostatic images provided which contains a binder resin and a colorant, wherein the colorant includes a mixed crystal of two or more colorants and when a solid patch is fixed on art paper complying with the ISO standard by using this toner, a resulting fixed image color satisfies at least one of the following formulae (b*)&#x3c;0.85 (a*)&#x2212;67.92; and (b*)&#x3e;&#x2212;7.94(a*)+591.85. The color difference &#x394;E between the color of the fixed image and the color characterized by L*: 46.6, a*: 75.1 and b*: &#x2212;4.4 is preferably less than 6. The colorant is preferably a mixed crystal of a quinacridone colorant and a monoazo colorant. Moreover, the invention provides a method for producing the magenta toner, a developer containing the magenta toner, and an image-forming method using the magenta toner.

A developing device for developing an electrostatic latent image, which is formed on an image-bearing body, with a developer which includes a toner and a carrier, the developing device comprises a developing roll, which includes a fixed magnet at an interior portion and a rotatable sleeve at an outer side thereof, and which is disposed to oppose the image-bearing body, rotates while carrying the developer, and conveys the developer to a developing region in a direction opposite to a direction of progress of the image-bearing body for developing the electrostatic latent image formed on the image-bearing body, wherein the developing roll includes a magnetic pole which includes, in a circumferential direction of the developing roll, at least two magnetic flux density peaks with the same polarity in the developing region, one of the magnetic flux density peaks opposing an end portion of the developing region at a downstream side in the direction of progress of the image-bearing body.

The present invention relates to an image forming method wherein the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a compound having an unsaturated double bond, a toner for electrostatic latent image development has a binder resin obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer having a vinyl double bond, has at least one kind of metal oxide particles and/or metal nitride particles on the surface of the toner and has a shape factor SFof 110 to 140, and the storage of elastic modulus at 160&#xb0; C. (G'(160)) of the toner for electrostatic latent image development is in a predetermined range.

Image forming method

The present invention relates to a toner for developing electrostatic images characterized in that a reactive polymer which cross-links when heated at a temperature higher than a maximum temperature at the preparation of the toner for developing electrostatic images, at image fixation and/or after fixation, is contained in a toner for developing electrostatic images containing at least a binder resin, and/or is added to the surface thereof.

The present invention provides an image forming method comprising the steps of forming an electrostatic latent image on a surface of an electrostatic latent image bearing body, forming a toner image by developing the electrostatic latent image by using a toner, transferring the toner image to the surface of a recording medium, and fusing the transferred toner image on the surface of the recording medium by bringing the toner image into contact with a heating medium, which has a resin coating layer formed on the surface thereof, and thereby melting the toner image. The toner contains a binder resin containing monomers having vinyl double bonds. A storage elasticity of the toner at 180&#xb0; C. is in a range of 1&#xd7;10to 8&#xd7;10Pa and a contact angle of the surface of the heating medium to water at 25&#xb0; C. is in a range of 50 to 100&#xb0;.

A toner for developing an electronic latent image, including toner particles containing a binder resin and a colorant, and an external additive, is provided. The external additive contains silica formed by a sol-gel method of which the surface is subjected to hydrophobic treatment and which has an average primary particle size of 80 to 300 nm, a water content of 3 to 15% and a volume resistivity of 1&times;10 &OHgr;cm or more. The invention further provides an image forming method and an image forming apparatus using the same. The toner for developing an electrostatic latent image is good in transferability over a long period of time and gives a high image quality without causing an image defect.

An image-forming process capable of keeping a high transfer efficiency for a long period of time, reducing the amount of the toner to be recovered and wasted and obtaining stabilized images without causing image quality defects such as density lowering, density unevenness, ghosts, fog, etc., wherein inorganic fine particles contained in a toner transfer from the toner to an electrostatic latent image holder surface and attach thereto, the attached amount of the inorganic fine particles to the electrostatic latent image holder surface is from 1 to 20% as the average occupied area ratio (C ) in the electrostatic latent image holder surface, and the difference (C &minus;C ) of the maximum occupied area ratio and the minimum occupied area ratio of the attached inorganic fine particles in the electrostatic latent image holder surface is not larger than about 5%.

Electrophotographic image formation comprising an arylamine in a charge

An electrophotographic toner comprising toner particles having adhered on the surface thereof a polymer comprising a monomer unit derived from a fluorine-containing vinyl monomer represented by formula (I) or (II): ##STR1## wherein X represents --COO--, --OCO--, --O--, or a p-phenylene group; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; m represents an integer of from 1 to 7; n represents an integer of from 1 to 19; o and p each represent an integer of from 0 to 7; and Y represents a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom. The toner exhibits satisfactory charging stability against the environment or mechanical forces while having a narrow charge distribution. It can be prepared with a wide choice of materials and without requiring any special reaction apparatus.
