An elastic member according to an embodiment is an elastic member that biases a ferrule retaining a plurality of optical fibers in a connecting direction. The elastic member is stored in an inner housing that accommodates the ferrule, the elastic member has a space in its inside into which a 16-fiber tape fiber is inserted, and the elastic member is in a noncircular shape in a cross section intersecting with the connecting direction. The elastic member includes a pair of first portions having an outer surface opposite to a pair of inner surfaces in an arc shape of the housing, the inner surfaces being opposite to each other along a first direction intersecting with the connecting direction and a pair of second portions opposite to the tape fiber along a second direction intersecting with both of the connecting direction and the first direction.

Elastic member and optical connector

An optical connector comprises: an inner housing including an engagement recess for engaging an optical adaptor on its surface; a boot connected to a rear side of the inner housing; a first outer housing covering the engagement recess; and a second outer housing covering a part of the first outer housing and provided freely movably in a front-rear direction relative to the first outer housing. When the second outer housing moves frontward, the engagement recess is exposed by the second outer housing and the inner housing moving relative to the first outer housing, and when the second outer housing moves rearward, the engagement recess is exposed by the second outer housing and the first outer housing moving relative to the inner housing.

An optical connector is an optical connector that is connected to another connector in a predetermined connection direction. The optical connector includes a ferrule that includes insertion holes into which guide pins to be connected to another connector are to be inserted; and a pin keeperthat is provided on a side of the ferrule opposite to the another connector and includes retaining holesretaining the guide pins inserted into the insertion holes. The pin keeperincludes a pair of side portionsin which the retaining holesare formed, and a bottom portionthat connects end portions of the pair of side portions. The retaining holesare formed in a shape in which inside surfaces of the side portionsfacing each other are notched.

An optical fiber with a connector includes a first connector and a plurality of optical fibers attached to the first connector. The first connector includes: at least one fiber-shaped member; and a ferrule including a first end surface and a second end surface arranged in a first direction, and a holding portion holding the optical fibers and the fiber-shaped member. In the holding portion, a plurality of fiber insertion holes extending from the first end surface in the first direction is formed such that the optical fibers and the fiber-shaped member are insertable thereinto. One end of the optical fiber and one end of the fiber-shaped member are held by the holding portion in a state of being inserted into the fiber insertion hole. The optical fiber extends to the outside of the ferrule. The other end of the fiber-shaped member is located inside the ferrule.
