In a thermo-shrinkable polyester film, the thermal shrinkage ratio in a main shrinking direction is about 20% or more after being treated in water of about 70.degree. C. for about seconds, about 35 to about 55% after treated in water of about 75.degree. C. for about 5 seconds, and about 50 to about 60% after being treated in water of about 80.degree. C. for about 5 seconds. After the film is shrunk by about 5% by treatment in water of about 75.degree. C. for about 10 seconds, the probability of the elongation at rupture of the film in the direction perpendicular to the main shrinking direction being about 20% or less, is about 10% or less. The ratio of .tau..sub.1 /.tau..sub.2 is about 0.05 to about 0.45, where .tau..sub.2 is the stress of shrinkage in a main shrinking direction of the film at about 90.degree. C., and .tau..sub.1 is the stress of shrinkage in a direction perpendicular to the main shrinking direction of the film at about 90.degree. C. The sealing strength of the film is about 1.2 kg/15 mm of width or more.

Thermo-shrinkable polyester film

Heat-shrinkable polyester films having a heat shrinkability of 30% or more, preferably 40% or more, in the direction of major shrinkage after treatment in hot water at 80.degree. C. for 30 seconds, the ratio of heat shrinkability in the direction of major shrinkage after treatment in hot water at 80.degree. C. for 5 seconds to heat shrinkability in the direction of major shrinkage after treatment in hot water at 80.degree. C. for 30 seconds being 0.8 or less, preferably 0.7 or less. The heat-shrinkable polyester films are suitable for label applications because of their particular heat-shrinkable properties such that not only do they scarcely cause longitudinal sinking when shrunk but also they have very few wrinkles, shrinkage spots and strains remaining after shrinkage.

Heat-shrinkable polyester films

A laminating film for a metal sheet, which comprises a thermoplastic resin and which is free of a pinhole having a diameter of not less than 0.1 mm .phi. at least in the portion laminated on the metal sheet, a metal sheet prepared by laminating this film, and a metal container formed from this metal sheet. The film of the present invention is superior in corrosion resistance, flavor resistance and printability. Hence, the metal sheet and metal container of the present invention have beautiful appearance and high food protection effect.

A polyester film having a coefficient of dynamic friction between the film and a metal at 80.degree. C. of not more than 0.45, a polyester film composed of a polyester comprising an ethylene terephthalate unit in a proportion of 70% or more by mole, the polyester film comprising a cyclic ethylene terephthalate trimer in a proportion of 0.7% or less by weight, laminated metal sheets and metal containers manufactured from said laminated metal sheet. According to the present invention, the polyester film shows superior sliding property and superior scratch resistance during can production, as well as the elution of oligomer from the film can be suppressed, so that when the film is used for metal containers for food, the change in and smell of the food contained therein and degraded appearance of the surface of the film caused by the deposition of oligomer are avoided.

A polyester film having a coefficient of dynamic friction between the film and a metal at 80.degree. C. of not more than 0.45, a polyester film composed of a polyester comprising an ethylene terephthalate unit in a proportion of 70% or more by mole, the polyester film comprising a cyclic ethylene terephthalate trimer in a proportion of 0.7% or less by weight, laminated metal sheets and metal containers manufactured from said laminated metal sheet. A thermo-shrinkable polyester film of this invention is obtained from a composition that comprises acid components including terephthalic acid and glycol components including ethyleneglycol. The polyester film has a heat-shrinkage ratio of 30% or more in a certain direction at 100.degree. C., and a shrinkage ratio of 5% or more at the point of intersection of a curve showing the internal shrinkage stress of the film and a curve showing the tensile stress of the film.

An anti-fogging multilayered film suitable for packaging fresh vegetables and fruits comprising a base layer and at least one surface layer containing an anti-fogging agent, said film having a water vapor transmission of 15 to 200 g/m.sup.2 .multidot.24 hr.multidot.40.degree. C., an oxygen permeability of 3,000 to 35,000 cc/m.sup.2 .multidot.24 hr.multidot.atm.multidot.20.degree. C..multidot.90% RH, and a carbon dioxide permeability of 12,000 to 130,000 cc/m.sup.2 .multidot.24hr.multidot.atm.multidot.20.degree. C..multidot.90% RH, and said anti-fogging surface layer having heat sealing properties. A packaging bag produced from this film is also disclosed.

An anti-fogging multilayered film suitable for packaging fresh vegetables and fruits comprising a base layer and at least one surface layer containing an anti-fogging agent, said film having a water vapor transmission of 15 to 200 g/m.sup.2 .multidot.24 hrs.multidot.40.degree. A packaging material having an excellent seal packaging property, which comprises (A) a base layer consisting of a stretched film made of a polymer composition comprising a propylene polymer and (B) a surface layer consisting of a stretched film made of a polymeric mixture comprising a polymer blend provided on at least one surface of said base layer, said polymer blend comprising a copolymer of ethylene and propylene and a copolymer of butene and any other polymerizable monomer having an ethylenic unsaturation in a weight proportion of 5:95 to 95:5.
