An optical carriage of scanner has a mirror assembly and a device assembly, the mirror assembly has a mirror mount, some mirror holder, and some supporters, and the device assembly has a chassis. In this invention, the mirror assembly and the device assembly are mechanically connected after separately formation. Further, to ensure correct shape of these mirror holders and these supporters, they could be formed by metal punch, plastic ejection, or plastic process.

Optical carriage of scanner and method of the same

A lens module with adjustable magnification is installed in a scanner. The lens module can be used to collect and focus a scanning light beam to form an image onto at least one optical sensing device, which may be replaceable. The lens module includes a primary lens and at least one correction lens. The correction lens is with respect to the size of the optical sensing device, such as the total length of the effective pixels, and is installed at a location in front of the light collection end or between the image output end and the optical sensing device. This allows the size of the image focused by lens module to match with the size of the optical sensing device, so that the image can be captured by the optical sensing device.

A back-light module for an image scanning device includes a casing, a pair of tubular lamps, a light guide plate, and a frosted transparent plate. The image scanning device includes a document supporting plate and an optical scanning module movable in a longitudinal direction. A calibration of illumination with the back-light module is done by (1) activating the back-light module to project light onto the optical scanning module, (2) driving the optical scanning module in the longitudinal direction, (3) obtaining illumination signals associated with selected pixels of a longitudinally-extending calibration zone formed on the document supporting plate, (4) comparing each illumination signal with a reference to obtain a result and manipulating the result to obtain a calibration parameter, and (5) calibrating the illumination of pixels of an image with the corresponding calibration parameters in scanning a transmissive original document.

Back-light module for image scanning device and method for calibrating illumination with back-light module

A vertically oriented image scanning device includes a chassis with a vertically oriented scanning window and a flap cover pivoted to the chassis. A document support flange is formed along a lower edge of the scanning window for aligning a document with respect to the scanning window. A thin metal plate has opposite edges attached to an inner face of the flap cover and forms a convex configuration for elastic deformation and thus applies a force to retain the document against the scanning window. The convex configuration also helps guide the document into position. Alternatively, a resilient pad replaces the thin metal plate for applying a force to the document.

Document retainer for vertically oriented image scanning device

A method and system for scanning comprises rotating a scanning chassis of an optical scanner to create an acute angle between the scan line and a scanning direction, such that the scanning chassis has two ends, and moving the scanning chassis in the scanning direction and with the acute angle between the scan line and the scanning direction, both two ends of the scanning chassis being moved in the scanning direction, while one of the two ends is moved more slowly than the other one so that the scanning chassis is made to be rotated with the acute angle.

Method and system for changing a scanning resolution

A height adjustment structure for an image-scanning device. The scanning device has a guiding rod, an optical system and a document panel. The guiding rod and the document panel are fixed relative to each other. The optical system includes a box body and an axial rod bearer that can slide along into the guiding rod. The height adjustment structure includes a first positioning section and a second positioning section. The first positioning section is attached to one side of the box body and the second positioning section is attached to one side the axial rod bearer that faces the first positioning section. The first positioning section and the second positioning section has hooking mechanism, screwing mechanism or teeth-meshing mechanism for fixing the box body relative to the axial rod bearer and hence setting the distance from the box body to the document panel.

Back-light module for image scanning device and method for calibrating illumination with the back-light module

A reflection mirror support structure, applied to support a reflection mirror of an optical scanner. Using three points or a single point and a line to construct a plane, projecting rib and projecting point are formed on a carrier to hold the reflection mirror. The image distortion caused by bending the reflection mirror and twist deformation because of structures not being parallel to each other is improved.
