A scanner, including a contact image sensor module and an elasticity-providing element, is provided. When scanning, the elasticity-providing element is capable of avoiding vertical shift of contact image sensor module resulting from mechanical friction or other unexpected. Therefore, the contact image sensor module can retrieve clear images all the time.

Scanner

An automatic document feeder (ADF) with a feeding roller used to carry a paper sheet to a reading position is provided. The ADF comprises a feeding path, a paper cartridge, an exit roller set, and a first lever. The feeding path is arranged in the ADF for guiding the paper sheet reaching the reading position and leaving the reading position. The paper cartridge has a fixed front edge aligned with an inlet of the feeding path. The exit roller set is located by the feeding path and at a downstream position with respect to the reading position. The exit roller set includes two exit rollers leaning against each other for carrying the paper sheet leaving the ADF. The first lever is connected between the paper cartridge and one of the exit rollers. As the paper sheet is jammed at the exit roller set, the paper cartridge may be raised to drive the first lever to separate the two exit rollers for removing the jammed paper sheet.

Automatic document feeder (ADF) with a releasing device

An optical scanning apparatus. The optical scanning apparatus includes a cover module, an optical module and a spacing element. The optical module is connected to the cover module. The spacing element is connected to the cover module and abuts the optical module. The cover module is separated from the optical module at a predetermined distance by the spacing element, and the optical module slides on the spacing element.

A guiding and positioning apparatus for accurate guiding and input of a print media sheet to a business machine. The guiding and positioning apparatus includes a rotating shaft, a retaining member, a guiding member, a sliding member, a roller, a first spring, a second spring, a tray and a positioning element. The rotating shaft has a protrusion, a first end and a second end. The retaining member is fitted on the first end. The guiding member is fitted on the second end. The sliding member is fitted on the rotating shaft. The sliding member has a sliding groove and a guiding groove. The roller is fitted on the rotating shaft. The first spring is disposed between the retaining member and roller. The second spring is disposed between the roller and sliding member. The tray is disposed under the roller. The positioning element is formed on one side of the tray.

Guiding and positioning apparatus and method thereof

An adjusting device provided on a transmission belt to adjust the tension of the transmission belt. The adjusting device includes a housing and a fastener fixed on the housing, the fastener engaging the transmission belt so that there is no relative displacement between the fastener and the transmission belt. A sliding mechanism is disposed on the housing and is capable of sliding in a linear direction on the housing, the sliding mechanism engaging the transmission belt so that there is no relative displacement between the sliding mechanism and the transmission belt. An elastic device is fixed to the housing at a first end and fixed to the sliding mechanism at a second end for maintaining proper tension in the transmission belt.

An ink-jet printing module, positioned in an ink-jet printing mechanism, includes a first side, a second side opposite to the first side, and a guiding bar between the first side and the second side, a print head movable along the guiding bar, a cleaning device, a covering device, and a printing platform. The cleaning device for cleaning the print head is adjacent to an interior of the first side. The covering device for covering the print head is adjacent to an interior of the second side. The printing platform is located at the bottom of the ink-jet printing module and between the cleaning device and the covering device.

An ink-jet printing module, positioned in an ink-jet printing mechanism, includes a first side, a second side opposite to the first side, a guiding bar between the first side and the second side, a print-head movable along the guiding bar, a cleaning device, a covering device, and a printing platform. The cleaning device for cleaning the print-head is adjacent to an interior of the first side. The covering device for covering the print-head is adjacent to an interior of the second side. The printing platform is located at the bottom of the ink-jet printing module and between the cleaning device and the covering device.

A wiper for avoiding ink residues adhering on side surfaces of a print head comprises a main body. The main body comprises a supporting portion, flexible portion, and wiping portion, which are sequentially connected with each other from bottom to top. The wiping portion has a wiping end and a contacting end. The wiping end extends from one side of the wiping portion while the contacting end is positioned on the top of the wiping portion. Before the print head contacts the contacting end, the contacting end is higher than the nozzle surface and the wiping end is lower than the nozzle surface. After the print head contacts the contacting end, the flexible portion bends down so that the contacting end is lower than the nozzle surface and the wiping end contacts the nozzle surface for wiping the ink residue on the nozzle surface.

A media feeding mechanism mainly comprises a base provided with a first surface and a second surface, a first roller, a second roller, a first one-way bearing used to support the first roller, a second one-way bearing used to support the second roller, a cam gear and a stopper. To prevent media from wrinkling or skewing, the media transmitted by the first roller is deskewed by contacting with the idled second roller for a predetermined period of time. The first roller is idled when the deskewing process concludes. Rotation of the second roller clockwise scrubs the media toward the exit point.

Method and apparatus for deskewing media in a feeding mechanism

A print head maintenance device is used in a printing device. The print head maintenance device cleans a print head of the printing device. The print head is movable on a horizontal track of the printing device. The print head has at least one linearly arranged nozzle array. When the print head moves across the maintenance device, the print head will connect with the maintenance device through the connecting device, making the connecting device capable of moving along the first track to slide the ink brush along the second track so as to clean remaining ink from the nozzle array of the print head.

A recording medium conveying device for an ink jet printing device comprises an active roller, a starwheel and an elastic cantilever beam, so that when the starwheel presses against the active roller, the recording medium is conveyed due to the rolling of the active roller, and is not substantially damaged.

A paper feeding system has a housing, a paper tray, a paper path positioned before a front end of the paper tray, a paper engaging mechanism installed above the paper tray, a paper separating mechanism, and a driving device. The paper engaging mechanism comprises an engaging arm and an engaging roller. The engaging arm comprises a first fixing shaft rotatably installed on the housing, and a second end installed with the engaging roller. When the engaging arm swings down to the paper tray, the engaging roller pushes at least a sheet of paper from the paper tray to the paper path. The paper separating mechanism comprises a separating roller and a friction pad installed respectively above and below the paper path. When two sheets of paper pass between a gap between the friction pad and the separating roller, the separating roller will move only the top sheet forward. The driving device is used to drive the engaging arm, the engaging roller, and the separating roller. When the driving device begins to run, the engaging arm will rotate down to the paper tray, and the engaging roller will rotate and move the sheet of paper from the paper tray into the paper path. Then the separating roller of the paper separating mechanism will successively move individual sheets along the paper path.

The feeding mechanism for feeding media from an initial site to a predetermined site comprises a base, a scrubber, a deskewer, two feeders, a lifting device having two cam portions, a driving element and a releasing device. The deskewer is moved between a first position and a second position and sets the media located at the initial site. The two feeders are used for transmitting the media located at the initial site toward the predetermined site. The cam portions are used as a lifter to move the deskewer from the first position to the second position. The driving element disposed between the lifting device and the releasing device generates forces to actuate the cam portions to move the deskewer. The releasing device is used as an overload protection clutch connected between the lifting device and the driving element, having a first plate separately contacting the driving element. As the driving element is actuated, the driving force generated from the driving element can be transmitted to the cam portions via the releasing device, and the overload from the driving element can be properly set free by the releasing device.

Feeding mechanism

A capping system has a cap for capping an ink jet print head, and a supporting structure for mechanically engaging and disengaging the cap with the ink jet print head. The cap has a vent. When the supporting structure engages the cap with the ink jet print head, the cap covers the ink jet print head to cap the ink jet print head. The vent in the cap ensures that the pressure inside the volume of the cap equalizes with the pressure outside the volume of the cap. This prevents overpressure within the cap.

An ink jet service station has a housing with a right wall and a left wall, and a carriage for holding a wiper. The carriage is moveably installed in the housing, and a scraper is rotatably mounted on the carriage. When the carriage moves to the left wall, the scraper contacts the left wall. A first torque is thus placed upon the scraper that causes the scraper to rotate to the right and scrape the wiper. When the carriage moves to the right wall, the scraper contacts the right wall and a second torque is placed upon the scraper that causes the scraper to rotate to the left and scrape the wiper.
