A barrier mechanism, which is often utilized in a disk changer device, is disclosed herein, in which the barrier mechanism includes two wheels and a barrier belt loop. The two wheels are respectively installed on a top terminal and a bottom terminal of an edge of the disk insertion opening of the magazine. A barrier belt loop which is used for selectively traverse one of the plurality of disk holding members, includes an inner section with a traversing recess carved therein. The inner section is adjacent to the disk insertion opening of the magazine of the disk changer device, and the mechanical coupling between the barrier belt loop and the processing mechanism enables the traversing recess constantly aligned with the optical pick-up unit. Accordingly, the traversing recess is horizontally aligned with the predetermined disk holding member, thereby the procedure enables the drafting unit to extract the predetermined disk holding member through the traversing recess into the optical pick-up unit.

Disk changer device and barrier mechanism thereof

A disc changer comprises a housing, a disc box, a selecting mechanism, an elevating mechanism, and a driving device. The housing has at least one oblique slot in each side wall. Projections of the oblique slots are interlaced to each other. The disc box fabricated in the housing has a plurality of trays stacking vertically. The selecting mechanism is used for moving vertically to a horizontal position of a predetermined tray of the disc box for pulling out the predetermined tray from the disc box. The elevating mechanism is fabricated in the housing and comprises two slides and a transmission shaft. Each slide is attached to the oblique slot with at least a slide protrusion. Each slide slides back and forth along the respective side wall. The slide protrusion of each slide slides back and forth along the attached oblique slot. By this way, the selecting device can move up and down inside the housing to reach the predetermined tray of the disc box.

Disc changer

A disk drive includes a chassis and first and second disk-positioning members mounted respectively on two opposite sides of the chassis. The first and second disk-positioning members have two straight inner portions extending perpendicularly and respectively from the opposite sides of the chassis to define a first distance therebetween, and two outer portions extending inclinedly and respectively from the inner straight portions in such a manner to define a second distance therebetween. The second distance is longer than the first distance. When an optical disk is moved to a reading and/or writing position from a temporary position, the inclined outer portions of the first and second disk-positioning members are spaced apart from the disk to permit smooth rotation thereof.

The disk changer comprises a disk holder and a casing. The disk holder has a holder bottom wall and a fastening hole therein, and the fastening hole has a position part. The casing has a holder receiving space and a bottom plate thereof. The holder receiving space is used for receiving the disk holder. The disk holder further comprises a movable body and a fastener. The fastener, protruding from the movable body, is fixed at the position part when the disk holder is inserted into the holder receiving space.

An optical disc reading apparatus includes a main body, a first disc entrance and a second disc entrance. The main body has a disc-reading room therein for accommodating the optical disc. The first disc entrance is arranged on a first face of the main body for providing the optical disc with a first approach to the disc-reading room. The second disc entrance is arranged on a second face of the main body different from the first face for providing the optical disc with a second approach to the disc-reading room.

Optical disc reading apparatus with multiple loading/ejecting approaches

The present invention is directed to a disk holding device for use in an optical disk reading device that accurately receives and positions an optical disk inserted into the optical disk reading device. The disk holding device comprises a substrate, a holding frame, two holding rods, two guide pins integrally formed on the corresponding holding rods and a sliding plate. Two gear racks are integrally formed with the holding frame, and the two spur gears are integrally formed on top surfaces of the holding rods. Thus, two spur gears of two holding rods respectively mesh the gear racks of the holding frame when the optical disk reading is in use. Further, the sliding plate functions to keep a positioning pin disposed on top surface of the holding rod in place, thereby causing the holding rods to be away from the optical disk when the optical disk reading device is in use. The disk holding device is adapted to receive and position the optical disk of different sizes even though the optical disk reading device is positioned vertically.

An optical disk player has a clamping device which includes a substrate, a support frame that is pivotably coupled to the substrate, a gripping plate carried on the support frame and extending into the opening, and a slider coupled for slidable movement on the substrate. The slider has a block with an angled surface along which a projecting tab on the support frame travels when the slider is moved. The slider also has a pressing tab that presses the gripping plate through the opening to fix a disk on to a turntable of the disk player.

The first gear link includes a flange provided with a notch and a plurality of first toothed portions on the lateral surface thereof. The second gear link includes a finger corresponding to the notch and a plurality of second toothed portions on the lateral surface thereof, corresponding to the first toothed portions. When the first gear link engages with the second gear link, the finger engages with the notch so as to avoid the misalignment between the first gear link and the second gear link, problems associated therewith.

A transmission apparatus includes a gear having a plurality of gear teeth and a rack having a plurality of rack teeth to mesh with the gear teeth. The rack further has an end formed as a cantilever beam structure. In an initial contact of the gear teeth with the rack teeth at the cantilever beam structure of the rack, the cantilever beam structure can deflect to buffer an impact resulted from the contact so that the meshing of the gear teeth and the rack teeth can be much smoother and possible collision in between can also be avoided.

The deceleration device has a module case body that is formed in one piece, and a plurality of gears, all of which are attached to the module case body.

Clamp mechanism for an optical disk reading device

A disk reading device has a housing having a disk receiving space provided therein, a first rod having a first guide pin, a second rod pivotably coupled to the first rod at a pivot point in a manner such that the first and second rods achieve a scissoring movement about the pivot point, with the second rod having a second guide pin. The device also includes a locking mechanism for locking the first and second rods at a fixed position, and a detection mechanism coupled to the first rod for detecting the size of a disk that is being inserted into the disk receiving space. The locking mechanism unlocks the first and second rods when a disk having a first size contacts the detection mechanism, and the locking mechanism maintains its lock on the first and second rods when a disk having a second size smaller than the first size is inserted into the disk receiving space.

A reed-type clamp device. The reed-type clamp device comprises a main body, a rotating ring, a reed and a clamp. The rotating ring has a ring portion and a lever portion. The ring portion has a plurality of protrusions formed on the inner circumference of the ring portion. The rotating ring is disposed on the main body and rotates clockwise and counterclockwise. A plurality of swing arms are extended from the outer edge of the reed. The swing arm has an outer end fixed on the main body and a driving portion. The protrusions of the rotating ring touch the driving portions. The clamp is fitted in the reed. By rotating the rotating ring, the swing arms of the reed fixed on the main body are pushed upward or downward such that the clamp can be moved upward or downward.

Reed-type clamp device

A disk-positioning device for a slot-in optical disk drive. The device can identify the size of the optical disk inserted in the slot-in optical disk drive. The disk-positioning device includes a substrate, a positioning rod, a locking rod, a floating lever, and a sliding plate. The positioning rod is linearly movable on the substrate, and the locking rod is slidably connected to an end of the positioning rod, providing the positioning rod with a location in which to position the optical disk. The floating lever is slidably connected to the other end of the positioning rod. The sliding plate activates a disk-fixing device to fix the optical disk to a spindle of the drive.
