A network device including a main bridge, a first bridge, a controller, and an Ethernet port is provided. When the Ethernet port is connected to a mesh network, the processing unit performs the following steps: controlling the Ethernet port to transmit a first broadcast packet; when the Ethernet port receives a second broadcast packet, parsing the second broadcast packet to extract the packet path information to determine whether a path loop exists; determining, according to the Ethernet interface weight (EIW), the slave interface uplink weight (SIUW), and the master device weight (MW) carried by the first broadcast packet and the second broadcast packet, (1) whether the network device plays a master device role, (2) whether the bridge of the Ethernet port is set as the main bridge or the first bridge, and (3) whether the Ethernet port allows data transmission.

Method for role decision and loop prevention in a master-slave architecture of mesh network and network device using the same

A wireless communication system using wireless LAN channels for wireless communication is disclosed, comprising: master access point, slave access points, and computing unit. First, the master access point creates a collision record table and a usage time record table. After that, the master access point updates the collision record table and usage time record table based on the usage information, and transmits the collision record table and usage time record table to the slave access points. The computing unit generates the channel collision probability through the number of collisions, and calculates the usage weight of the dynamic frequency selection channel through the channel collision probability. Finally, the wireless communication system automatically selects the wireless LAN channels of the master access point and the slave access points according to the usage weight and usage time record table. As such, the wireless communication system has high efficiency and low delay.

Wireless communication system, group management method and channel selection method thereof

A repeater configured to be connected to a network is provided. The repeater includes an uplink wireless transmission interface, a downlink wireless transmission interface, and a processing unit. The uplink wireless transmission interface is configured to establish an external wireless connection with the network. The downlink wireless transmission interface is configured to perform data transmission with the uplink wireless transmission interface and has an external wireless transmission function. The processing unit is configured to turn off the external wireless transmission function of the downlink wireless transmission interface when the connection between the uplink wireless transmission interface and the network is disconnected.

An optical touch system includes a touch panel and a reading circuit. The touch panel comprises a first touch area including a plurality of image sensing units, where the plurality of image sensing units is arranged to form an array of a plurality of columns and a plurality of rows. The reading circuit is coupled to the plurality of image sensing units, where the plurality of image sensing units includes a first selected image sensing unit and a second selected image sensing unit. The reading circuit reads the first selected image sensing unit in the first touch area in a first touch sensing frame, and the reading circuit reads the second selected image sensing unit in the first touch area in a second touch sensing frame.

Network device and controlling method thereof applicable for mesh networks

A fingerprint detector includes a driving circuit, a sensing array, a gate driving circuit, a reading circuit, a first light emitting structure and a second light emitting structure. The first and the second light emitting structures are isolated from one another. The driving circuit provides power to the first and the second light emitting structures. The sensing array includes a plurality of first light sensing elements disposed under the first light emitting structure and a plurality of second light sensing elements disposed under the second light emitting structure. Each of the light sensing elements generates a light sensing voltage according to scanning light received. The gate driving circuit drives a plurality of rows of the light sensing elements sequentially through a plurality of gate lines. The reading circuit sequentially or synchronously reads the light sensing voltages generated by light sensing elements in different columns of a same row driven by the gate driving circuit.

Fingerprint detector

A counter including a state determination unit and a counter reset unit is provided. The state determination unit is for receiving a current count value to calculate a next count value. The counter reset unit compares a reset counter value and a delay cycle value to determine using a first comparator or a second comparator, and compares the reset counter value and the current count value to output a counter reset signal to the state determination unit to reset the current count value, wherein a bit number of the first comparator is smaller than a bit number of the second comparator.

A driving method for a bistable display device includes setting a first duration and a second duration according to a frame period; applying a first voltage to a light valve layer in the first duration according to display data, so as to transform the light valve layer from a first state to a second state; and applying a second voltage in the second duration to the light valve layer in the second duration for the light valve layer to transform to the first state. Since the light valve layer of the bistable display device is already at the first state prior to displaying the next image, the light valve layer is not required to reset when switching displayed images, hence reducing the total number of frames required to display each image.

Driving method for bistable display

An exemplary method of determining a pointing object position for three-dimensional interactive system, adapted for an interaction between a pointing object and a three-dimensional interaction display with embedded optical sensors. The method includes the steps of: acquiring a two-dimensional detected light intensity distribution caused by the pointing object acting on the three-dimensional interaction display; obtaining two light-shading intensity maximum values according to the two-dimensional detected light intensity distribution; and determining a one-dimensional positional information of the pointing object on a distance direction of the pointing object relative to the three-dimensional interaction display by use of the positional distance between the two light-shading intensity maximum values.

A backlight module for a liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a bottom plate, a plurality light sources, a light-premixing unit, and a light-mixing unit. The light sources are mounted on the bottom frame. The light-premixing unit is located above the bottom frame. The light-premixing unit includes a first diffuser. The light-mixing unit is located at a distance above the light-premixing unit. The light-mixing unit includes a second diffuser. The backlight module can effectively reduce the thickness of and meet the slim-line requirement of the LCD.

A backlight module including a first frame, a light guide plate, and a light source is provided. The inner surface of the first frame has at least a first reflection area. In addition, the light guide plate is disposed in the first frame and located beside the first reflection area, and the light guide plate has a light incident surface. In a method and apparatus for decoding an image data block having multiple data lines compressed into codeword streams, when one of multiple different code types and a line-end code, which are defined by a run-length encoding algorithm, is detected in an N-bit part of an M-bit segment of the codeword streams, the detected one of the code types and the line-end code is interpreted to generate a decompressed output. The N-bit part is further analyzed to find a succeeding one of the code types and the line-end code therein. When an error is detected in the N-bit part, a miss code is outputted to stop interpretation and further generation of the decompressed output. Analysis of the N-bit part is continued until the line-end code is detected. The line-end code is then interpreted so as to complete decompression of one of the data lines.

Method and apparatus for decoding compressed image data and capable of preventing error propagation

A run-length based decoder for decoding compressed image data while allowing error to be contained with the length of a code word. The decoder includes: (a) a shifter for outputing Q&plus;1 number of N-bit data streams; (b) Q&plus;1 code comparators to respectively receive the data streams from the shifter; (c) a code type arbitrator which includes a multiplexer to receive output signals from the Q&plus;1 number of code comparators, and output the data stream received from the code word comparator which also outputs the verification signal; (d) a shift number generator connected to the code arbitrator to receive the N-bit data stream from the code arbitrator and generate a new_shift_number to the shifter according to the number of bits associated with the code word pattern of the N-bit data stream; and (e) a code interpreter which is also connected to the code arbitrator to receive to decode the N-bit data stream into pixels. The Q&plus;1 number of comparators include (i) a comparator which does not make any assumption of the data stream, and (ii) Q number of comparators each assuming a respective code word pattern for the data stream and compares it with a predetermined code word table to see whether the data stream conforms to the assumed code word pattern. If yes, then the comparator outputs a verification signal along with the data stream which has been reset to conform to the assumed code word pattern.

Run-length decoder with error concealment capability

A method and device for decompressing a compressed video image and capable of enlarging or contracting the image at the same time. The method utilizes an enhancement/contraction pre-processor to perform enlargement or contraction processing on the compressed data in the vertical direction. Then, at a later stage, an enhancement/contraction post-processor is used to perform enlargement or contraction processing on the decompressed data in the horizontal direction. By dividing the whole video image into a number of rows and dealing with each row sequentially, memory for storing a single row of video data is only required. Therefore, a whole image can be decompressed without using large amount of memory for storing the decompressed data; a large amount of memory is saved.
