The present document describes a camera module with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. In particular, the camera module includes a lightning rod structure, which guides an ESD current to a safe location (e.g., system ground) when a lens retainer of the camera module is hit by an ESD spark. Due to the impact on camera focus tuning and the risk of audio rub and buzz, the lightning rod structure does not physically touch the lens retainer. As such, a gap separates the lightning rod structure from the lens retainer. When the lens retainer is stressed by an ESD spark, the gap is broken down and a conductive path is established to guide the ESD current to the safe location through the lightning rod structure. In this way, the ESD current flows along a controlled path instead of jumping to arbitrary locations, which protects nearby susceptible circuitry.

This document describes systems and techniques directed at an external wide-angle lens for imagers in electronic devices. An imager is disclosed that includes an image sensor and a lens stack, the lens stack including an external wide-angle lens, an internal lens, and four or more intermediate lenses. The imager has a first ratio of a projection at a vertex of the external wide-angle lens divided by a maximum focused dimension of the focal area being less than or equal to 0.15, a second ratio of a total length of the lens stack divided by the maximum focused dimension being less than or equal to 7.0, or a third ratio of a total transmission length of the imager divided by an entrance pupil diameter of the external wide-angle lens being between 1.2 and 2.6.

The disclosure provides a surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrate, including: a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrate; a patterned hydrophilic region and a patterned hydrophobic region formed on the SERS-active substrate, wherein a water contact angle difference between the patterned hydrophilic region and the patterned hydrophobic region is in a range from about 29 degrees to about 90 degrees.

A photo-electric device including a photoelectric conversion layer and a plurality of electrodes is provided. The photoelectric conversion layer includes a plurality of inversed pyramid shaped recesses and a plurality of a pyramids, wherein each of the inversed pyramid shaped recesses has at least three first reflection sidewalls, each of the pyramids is located in one of the inversed pyramid shaped recesses respectively, each of the pyramids has at least three second reflection sidewalls, and none of the first reflection sidewall and the second reflection sidewall is located in a same plane. The electrodes are electrically connected to the photoelectric conversion layer.

A package structure and a solar cell with the same are provided. The package structure includes a transparent package bulk and at least one structure capable of changing a direction of light. The structure is disposed within the transparent package bulk and at a distance from a surface of the transparent package bulk. When applied to a solar cell, the package structure can reduce gridline shading.

The invention provides a surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrate and a trace detection method of a biological and chemical analyte using the same. The substrate includes: a substrate having a periodic nanostructure; a reflection layer formed on the substrate; a dielectric layer formed on the reflection layer; and a metal thin film layer formed on the dielectric layer.

A multi-reflection structure including a substrate and pyramid is provided. The substrate includes an inversed pyramid shaped recess having at least three first reflection sidewalls. The pyramid is disposed on the substrate and located in the inversed pyramid shaped recess. The pyramid has at least three second reflection sidewalls, wherein the normal of each of the second reflection sidewalls and the normal of each of the first reflection sidewalls are not located in the same plane. Furthermore, a photo-electric device is also provided in the present application.

Multi-reflection structure and photo-electric device

A micro optical head is provided, which provides sub-wavelength focusing spot and very long depth of focus. The optical head includes a transparent substrate, an opaque film, and at least one sub-wavelength annular channel. After coherent light transmits the transparent substrate supporting the optical head and passes through the appropriately designed sub-wavelength annular channel, the transmitted light can overcome the diffraction limit, and the transmission energy is improved efficiently. The transmitted light converges after a certain distance behind the optical head and forms a sub-wavelength-scale beam that maintains a very long distance without divergence.
