A pulse burner includes: a combustion chamber provided in a liquid vat capable of storing liquid; a tail pipe that is connected to the combustion chamber and has a heat exchanging portion located in the liquid vat and bent in a predetermined shape; and a mixing chamber which communicates with the combustion chamber and to which fuel gas and combustion air is allowed to be supplied. When mixed gas including the fuel gas and the combustion gas is exploded and combusted, the combustion exhaust gas is exhausted through the tail pipe to allow heat exchange with the liquid, and the mixed gas is inhaled from the mixing chamber into the combustion chamber. At least the heat exchanging portion of the tail pipe is bent on a substantially horizontal plane.

Pulse burner and liquid heating cooker

A fryer, having respective tail pipes of a pulse combustor including: a forward pipe that extends outward and obliquely upward from a left or right side surface of a combustion chamber to reach an inside of a cooking zone, and bends in a C-shape along an inner surface of an oil bath, which is divided into left and right halves, with a return pipe mutually connected to the forward pipe in a U-shape in the back side center of the oil bath. The pipe then bends in a C-shape parallel to the forward pipe along the inner surface, which is divided into left and right halves, and from the upper left or right of the combustion chamber to reach an air chamber whereby in the oil bath, a cooking zone in which cooking oil is heated by the surrounding tail pipes is formed.

Fryer

A fryer includes: a housing; an oil vat; a combusting and heating unit; an operational panel provided at a front face of the housing; and an exhaust pipe provided at a rear of the oil vat. A cooling path is defined at a rear of the operational panel in the housing. An external pipe is provided at a rear of the housing to surround the exhaust pipe and has an exhaust port of which the sectional opening area is narrowed at an upper end of the exhaust pipe. An air passage is defined by the housing and through which the cooling path and the external pipe are connected.

A fryer is provided where an oil fire caused by overheating is accurately and rapidly extinguished and the oil can then be reused after extinguishing the fire. A housing includes a slide cover capable of sliding between a housing position and a shielding position, wherein the housing position is to open an upper face of an oil vat and the slide cover is housed on the side of the housing, and the shielding position is to close the upper face of the oil vat. When oil catches fire due to overheating, the fire can be extinguished by closing the upper face of the oil vat with the slide cover.

The invention provides a fryer that can prevent problems such as poorly cooked food when operation of an oil discharge valve is started and cooking oil is discharged, for example, to adjust the liquid level of the cooking oil within an oil vat. The fryer includes oil vats ( ) and ( ) for containing cooking oil, a burning device ( ) for heating the cooking oil within the oil vats, an oil discharge pipe ( ) that extends from the bottom of the oil vat and that discharges the cooking oil from a discharge opening at its end into a tank, and an oil discharge valve ( ) that is disposed in the oil discharge pipe and that opens and closes the oil discharge pipe. Furthermore, the fryer is provided with a micro switch ( ) and a contact piece ( ) for detecting the open state of the oil discharge valve, and alarms ( ) and ( ) for giving a warning in accordance with the results of the detection by the micro switch ( ) regarding the open state of the oil discharge valve. When the micro switch ( ) detects that the oil discharge valve has continuously remained in an open state and a predetermined time has passed, heating by the burning device ( ) is stopped by controls from control devices ( A) and ( B).

The invention provides a valve opening/closing device for a fryer, in which the operation of opening/closing the oil discharge valve is easy, and with which it is possible to recognize with one glance whether it is in an open state or a closed state. In the valve opening/closing device ( ), by opening and closing an oil discharge valve ( ) placed in an oil discharge pipe ( ), which extends from the bottom of an oil vat containing cooking oil, the oil discharge pipe opens and closes. The valve opening/closing device is provided with a long bar-shaped fixed link portion ( ), which is fixed at one end to the oil discharge valve and which extends substantially perpendicular to the rotating shaft of the oil discharge valve; a first short bar-shaped rotating link portion ( ) fixed at one end to the rotating shaft; a second rotating link portion ( ) that is of a similar length to the first rotating link portion and disposed parallel thereto, and that is rotatably attached at one end to the other end of the fixed link portion; a long bar-shaped coupling link portion ( ) rotatably fixed at both ends to the other ends of the first and second rotating link portions; and a rotating lever ( ) fixed to the other end of the second link portion and extending therefrom.

Valve opening/closing device of a fryer

In a pulse combustor in which a mixture of air and fuel gas is supplied into a combustion chamber and subjected to pulse combustion, a flame trap is provided at the inlet of the combustion chamber to prevent back fires. The flame trap is formed as follows: A first tape of metal foil such as stainless steel foil is welded to one side of a second tape of metal foil, for instance, by blazing in such a manner that the first tape is corrugated, thus forming cells between them. Next, the first and second tapes thus welded together are spirally wound and combined with each other, for instance, by blazing.

Flame trap for use in a pulse combustor

In a pulse combustion device including a housing forming therein a combustion chamber, a cylindrical support member joined to the housing to form a mixing chamber in open communication with the combustion chamber, an annular perforated flange member coupled with an opene end of the support member and having a cylindrical portion provided at its center to form a gas passage in communication with the mixing chamber, an air inlet valve assembly mounted within the flange member to allow inward flow of air passing therethrough into the mixing chamber, and a gas inlet valve assembly disposed within the cylindrical portion to allow inward flow of gaseous fuel passing therethrough into the mixing chamber, an annular heat-blocking plate is arranged to oppose an aperature between the mixing chamber and the combustion chamber and mounted on the cylindrical portion of the flange member between the air inlet valve assembly and the aperture to block radiant heat of combustion products applied thereto from the combustion chamber for protecting the air inlet valve assembly.

Pulse combustion device

A check-valve mechanism of a pulse combustion apparatus for passing air into a mixing chamber includes (i) a partition wall separating an air inlet chamber and the mixing chamber from each other, (ii) a plurality of rear discs of relatively small diameters spaced apart from the partition wall and located inside the mixing chamber, and (iii) a plurality of front discs, or valve members, located between said partition wall and said rear discs; respectively. The circular portions of the partition wall which overlies the respective valve members (as viewed from the side of the air inlet chamber) each have a plurality of radially-extended elongate openings for passing air into the mixing chamber. Each rear disc has a plurality of small circular openings. Each valve member is axially movable between the partition wall and the associated rear disc, thereby opening and closing the elongate openings. A check-valve mechanism for passing fuel gas into a gas distributing chamber includes (i) an outlet-side wall of a fuel gas intlet chamber, (ii) a rear disc spaced apart from the outlet-side wall in a downstream direction and located outside the gas inlet chamber, and (iii) a front disc, or valve member, located between the foregoing outlet-side wall and the rear disc. The outlet-side wall of the gas inlet chamber has a plurality of radially-extended elongate openings for passing fuel gas into the gas distributing chamber.

Check-valve mechanisms for a pulse combustion apparatus

A gas distributor in the fuel gas supply system of a pulse combustion apparatus comprises a cylindrical wall having one end connected to the rest of the fuel gas supply system and another end defining an end wall facing a flame trap and spaced apart therefrom. The distributor is removably connected to the rest of the fuel gas supply system and its end wall has an adjustable distance from the flame trap. The distributor has a plurality of nozzle openings which may be provided through its cylindrical or end wall, or through both of its cylindrical and end walls.

Pulse combustion apparatus

A combustion chamber for a pulse combustion apparatus has a generally circular cross section as viewed from a direction which is perpendicular, in a horizontal plane, to a direction of flow of an air/fuel mixture into the chamber. The chamber includes an inlet from which the air/fuel mixture flows into the chamber and outlet from which burned gas comes out of the chamber. The inlet is located on an upstream side. Also, the inlet is located within an upper half of the foregoing cross section of the chamber as viewed from the foregoing perpendicular direction. The outlet is located at the center of the foregoing cross section of the chamber as viewed from the foregoing perpendicular direction. The outlet has an axial centerline which cuts an axial centerline of the inlet at right angles, as viewed from above or below, if the axial centerline of the outlet is extended inwardly of the chamber while extending the axial centerline of the inlet in a downstream direction. The inlet has a front space and a rear, cylindrical space which communicate with each other. The front space is tapered in the downstream direction and has a termination with a diameter smaller than a diameter of the rear space.

Combustion chamber for a pulse combustion apparatus

In a pulse combustion device including a housing forming therein a combustion chamber, a cylindrical support member joined to the housing to form a mixing chamber in open communication with the combustion chamber, an annular perforated flange member coupled with an open end of the support member, a cylindrical member mounted in the center of the flange member to form a gas passage in open communication with the mixing chamber, a flapper-type air inlet valve assembly mounted on the flange member, and a flapper-type gas inlet valve assembly disposed within the cylindrical member. The air inlet valve assembly includes an annular valve plate formed with a plurality of circumferentially equi-spaced circular air ports and being secured to annular end surfaces of the flange member and the cylindrical member, and a plurality of circumferentially equi-spaced air inlet valve units mounted on the valve plate on a common circular path concentric with the gas passage. The air inlet valve units each includes a circular perforated backer plate arranged within the mixing chamber to oppose each of the air ports and fixed to the valve plate through a spacer, and a circular air flapper movable between the valve plate and the backer plate.
