An automotive waterproof switch has a flange member integral to the switch. A screw is used to attach the switch to a car body. A protective cap is attached to the circumference of the flange member to cover the switch and the screw. There is an opening in the cap above the screw to access the screw for assembly. The edges of the opening comprise thin portions that are of a smaller diameter than the screw and retain the screw prior to final assembly.

Automotive waterproof push switch

The body and the cover of the conventional automotive lamp assembly used to be made of hard synthetic resin such as polypropylene or polycarbonate having a low Izod impact value. As a result, the strong impact by a human body on the body or the cover of the lamp assembly in a collision accident can create a problem that the lamp assembly is broken into smithereens and recycling thereof was impossible. A push button support structure for a push switch is provided with a housing, a push switch secured to the housing which has an actuator thereon, and a push button reciprocally moveable between on and off positions so as to responsively engage the actuator and thereby perform on and off switching actions, respectively. A pair of first elongate engagement posts is provided on one of the push button or housing which defines a circular cross-sectional geometry. Each elongate engagement post is positioned on a respective side of the push switch so that the push switch is disposed between the pair of first elongate engagement posts. A pair of second elongate engagement posts, in alignment with the pair of first elongate engagement posts, is also provided on the other of the push button or housing and defines a square cross-sectional geometry. Respective ones of the first and second pairs of elongate engagement posts are coaxially mated with one another for relative slidable movement therebetween, and are sized and configured so as to establish orthogonally oriented pairs of diametrically opposed linear contact regions therebetween. As a result, frictional resistance is minimized during reciprocal movement of the push button.

Push button support structure for push switch

Switch mounting structures have a generally rectangular body switch with oppositely extending planar base extensions, and a housing which defines a pair of spaced-apart slotted mounting entries to receive respective terminal edge portions of a respective one of the base extensions. The terminal edge portions of the base extensions include diagonally opposed pairs of coved portions and recesses, while the housing includes a pair of diagonally opposed proturbences. These proturbences are engaged with said diagonally opposed pair of recesses when said base extensions are rotated relative to said housing from an initial insertion position, where the base extensions are in a slanted orientation relative to the mounting entries, and a mounted position, where the base extensions are in a non-slanted orientation relative to the mounting entries. In such a manner, the switch body and the housing are brought lockable engagement with one another.

Switch mounting structure

A switch connecting structure comprising: a switch in which at least two facing terminal plates are formed within recesses formed in a portion of a housing; bus bars having blade terminals rising from an insulated base; and, connection terminals in which are formed a pair of first resilient clamps that are inserted into said housing recesses and resiliently fit onto said terminal plates, and a pair of second resilient clamps that resiliently fit onto the blade terminals of said bus bars.

Switch connecting structure

A switch includes a resilient contact plate that slides by operating an operating lever such as a pushing lever protruding from a housing. Terminal plates over which the resilient contact plate slides are attached so that the ends protrude into recesses formed in the bottom of the housing. Contact and, contact terminals fit into the recesses of the housing have resilient clamps that resiliently clamp the ends of the terminal plates extending into the recesses and blade terminals of bus bars rising from an insulated base.

Switch

A slide switch includes a moving contact contained within a slider that moves between a plurality of desired stationary contacts. A clicking thruster provided with resiliency by a resilient member such as a spring produces a clicking sensation during switching by engaging with clicking thruster recesses. A through hole is provided in the slider, and the moving contact is positioned within the through hole in opposition to the stationary contacts. The clicking thruster is positioned in opposition to the clicking thruster recesses, and the resilient member is fit in between the moving contact and the clicking thruster.

Slide switch

Switch connecting structures include a housing having an insertion hole, and an operation lever slidably mounted in the housing. The operation lever includes a push member protruding from said housing. A resilient contact plate is carried by the operation lever so as to be slidable therewith. A connection terminal is provided having a resilient clamp portion and a contact plate portion. The contact plate portion is inserted into the insertion hole of the housing and extending therewithin over a range of slidable movement of the operation lever so as to be in contact with the resilient contact plate. In such a manner, the clamp portion is connectable to a bus bar for electrical connection of the switch to a circuit.

A connector for a wedge-base electrical component (e.g., a wedge-base bulb) includes an electrically insulative base and an electrically insulative holder attached to the base and defining an interior socket space therewithin for receiving the wedge-base of the electrical component. A pair of U-shaped electrically conductive clamp elements is positioned in the interior socket space of the holder. The U-shaped clamps resiliently hold the wedge-base of the electrical component and establish an electrical connection therebetween. Each of the clamp elements includes a connection piece for connection to a bus bar so as to establish an electrical circuit connection with the electrical component resiliently held by the clamp elements. The insulative holder includes a pair of opposed resilient support tabs extending upwardly from the holder so as to engage the electrical component at a location above the wedge-base of the electrical component. In such a manner, lateral support is provided to the electrical component when held within the holder by the support tabs.

Connector attachment component

A lever switch includes an insulating substrate formed from a plastics material which has opposed substrate walls protruding from a surface thereof. An operating lever is positioned between and hingedly connected to the opposed substrate walls so as to be pivotally movable between at least first and second positions. A movable contact piece, which has a pair of contact regions, is positioned at a lower end of the operating lever so as to be movable therewith between said first and second positions. A pair of fixed contact piece supporting walls each extend from a respective one of the opposed substrate walls. First and second conductive fixed contact pieces are positioned on respective inner surfaces of one and another of the fixed contact piece supporting walls such that the movable contact piece is positioned therebetween and is capable of contact therewith when the lever is pivoted between the first and second positions. The first and second fixed contact pieces each have a portion which extends to an exterior of the fixed contact piece supporting walls. The first contact piece has a depression in an inner surface thereof and the second fixed contact piece is positioned in opposition to the depression. In such a manner, the contact regions of the movable contact make electrical contact with the depression and the second fixed contact piece when the lever is in one of its first and second positions.

Lever switch

A slide switch includes an electrically insulated support housing having an interior cavity and having an upper wall which defines an opening in communication with the interior cavity. An electrically insulated slide body is slidably disposed within the interior cavity of the support housing so as to be slidably movable reciprocally in an operation direction between first and second positions. The slide body has a knob which projects through the opening defined in the upper wall of the support housing to allow manual movement of the slide body between the first and second positions At least one pair of fixed contacts is disposed parallel, but spaced apart relative, to one another substantially transverse to the operation direction of the slide body The slide body also includes a movable contact sized and configured to be in contact with the pair of fixed conductors when the slide body is in the first position so as to make an electrical circuit therebetween, and to be disengaged from at least one of the fixed conductors when the slide body is in the second position so as to break electrical contact therebetween. The movable contact includes a main elongate contact strip and an auxiliary elongate contact strip disposed in parallel side-by-side relationship to one another in the operation direction of the slide body. The main contact strip includes a main protrusion for contacting the pair of fixed contacts when the slide body is in the first position thereof. The auxiliary contact strip includes an auxiliary protrusion spaced from the main protrusion in the operation direction of the slide body. The auxiliary protrusion thereby contacts one of the fixed contacts when the slide body is being moved from the first position and into the second position to thereby maintain the electrical circuit until the slide body reaches the second position.

A connector component for a wedge-base lamp includes an electrically insulative base having an upright inverted T-shaped electrically insulated frame member which defines a central interior rectangular space for receiving a wedge-base of a lamp. The insulated frame member also has an opposed pair of lateral shoulder pockets which open into a lower portion of the central interior rectangular space. A pair of opposed bulb guides integral with the frame member are disposed substantially midway of the interior rectangular space. The opposed bulb guides each define a respective arcuate concavity for receiving a portion of the wedge-base of the lamp therein so as to provide a holder for the wedge-base lamp. The bulb guides further define a pair of lateral socket spaces within the interior rectangular space of the frame member and each have a projection member extending into the socket space. A pair of U-shaped electrically conductive clamp elements are positioned in a respective one of the lateral socket spaces. Each clamp element has (i) an attachment aperture which receives a projection member of a respective socket space to positionally restrain the clamp element therewithin, and (ii) a lateral connection piece positioned within a respective lateral shoulder pocket for connection to a bus bar.

A connector attachment component for a lamp is provided with a bulb holder which includes an electrically insulative base member defining a central interior rectangular space for receiving a lamp base therewithin. A pair of electrically conductive bulb connectors have resilient generally U-shaped clamp elements for resiliently holding the lamp base, and a connection piece for connection to an electrical circuit. The pair of connectors are positioned parallel to one another within the central interior rectangular space such that each of the clamp elements forwardly extends to receive the lamp base of a lamp when inserted thereinto. An electrically conductive reflecting plate forwardly extends from an upper surface of the bulb holder so as to be in covering relationship to the lamp when the lamp base thereof is resiliently held by the clamp elements of the connectors. The reflecting plate includes an electrically conductive projecting piece which is inserted into a connection piece of one of the connectors to allow electrical current to flow through the reflecting plate to the connector and illuminate the lamp held thereby.

The object of the present invention is to enable a power source line and load to be connected in a single operation via a plug-in jack by operating a switch, and reliably support the bases of plugs while protecting the plugs with a plug cover formed into a single structure with a switch cover. In the present invention, a slide switch is described comprising: a knob facing to the outside from a slot continuous with a recess of an insulating base, movably providing a sliding body within the above-mentioned recess of the above-mentioned insulating base, arranging in parallel a plurality of fixed contacts that make sliding contact with a movable contact resiliently provided on the sliding body by means of a resilient spring, and covering its outside surface with an insulating plate; wherein, at least one of the above-mentioned fixed contacts is bent to compose a plug, and a guiding member, which guides the insertion of a plug-in jack J that attaches to the plugs, is formed into a single structure with the above-mentioned insulating plate.

A connector assembly for electrical components includes an electrically insulative base member having a generally square tubular form so as to establish a lengthwise interior space having open forward and rearward ends. The base member has a rearward constricted portion with a lesser widthwise dimension as compared to a forward base portion so as to establish at least one lateral recess rearwardly of the forward base portion of the base member. At least one electrically conductive connector having a pair of opposed forwardly projecting resilient conducting clamps is inserted into the rearward end of, and positioned within, the interior space of the base member so that a connection end of an electrical component may be inserted into the forward end of the interior space and held between the conducting clamps of the connector. The connector includes an insertion connection piece integrally connected, and laterally positioned relative, to the connector so that the insertion connection piece of the connector is disposed within the established recess rearwardly of the forward base portion.
