A plurality of heat transfer tubes are disposed at certain intervals, in-tube operating fluid (such as coolant) passes therethrough, and a plurality of small-gage wires are used as a heating fin. One small-gage wire is wound at a pair of heat transfer tubes,and,in a spiral manner, and another small-gage wire is wound at a pair of heat transfer tubes,and,in the spiral manner, and still another small-gage wire is wound at a pair of heat transfer tubes,and,in the spiral manner. Thereby, while higher heat transfer coefficient can be achieved, and a heating surface area is ensured, clogging can be avoided even when moisture in air condenses on a surface of a heat exchanger. As a result, it is possible to realize a high-performance and compact heat exchanger used for air conditioning.

Heat exchanger, refrigeration system, air conditioner, and method and apparatus for fabricating heat exchanger

A heat exchanger for an air conditioner comprises a plurality of heat-transfer tubes arranged in parallel to each other at predetermined intervals, and heat-transfer fins formed by helically winding a plurality of fine wires around the plurality of heat-transfer tubes. Preferably, the heat-transfer tubes are divided into groups of two adjacent heat-transfer tubes (1a, 1b), (1b, 1c), (1c, 1d), . . . , and at least one fine wire fin is wound helically around the two adjacent heat-transfer tubes of each group so that the fine wire fin does not cross other portions of the fine wire fin as viewed along a direction perpendicular to a plane including the axes of the plurality of heat-transfer tubes. When fabricating the heat exchanger, at least either the outer circumferences of the heat-transfer tubes or the outer circumferences of the fine wires are coated with a metal film formed by plating, and then the heat-transfer tubes and the fine wires are interlaced to form a heat exchanging structure. Then, the heat exchanging structure is heated to the melting point of the metal film so that the metal film is melted and the heat-transfer tubes and the fine wires are bonded together by the molten metal film.

A heat exchanger for an air conditioner includes a plurality of heat-transfer tubes arranged in parallel to each other at predetermined intervals, and heat-transfer fins formed by helically winding a plurality of fine wires around the plurality of heat-transfer tubes. A heat exchanger mounted in an air condition is constructed such that at least one row of heat conduction pipe groups are arranged across an air passage. Each heat conduction pipe group is constructed such that a plurality of heat conduction pipes 22 are arranged in parallel with each other and a fine wire 23 made of a metallic material having excellent heat conductivity is spirally wound around each adjacent heat conduction pipe 22. Thus, the performance of the heat exchanger can be improved without the air conditioner being designed with larger dimensions. In addition, the heat exchanger includes a plurality of heat conduction pipes 39 arranged in the form of at least one row with a constant distance between adjacent pipes, and a plurality of twisted wires 40. The twisted wires 40 are arranged so as to alternately come in contact with one side and opposite side of each heat conduction pipe 39 extending at a right angle relative to the row direction of each heat conduction pipe 39, and moreover, alternately come in contact with one side and opposite other side of each heat conduction pipe 39 extending in the longitudinal direction. With this construction, high heat conductivity can be realized, and an occurrence of clogging with dew droplets can be prevented while maintaining a heat transfer surface area.

An exothermic heat generating apparatus is preferably used as a heat source for rapidly heating in a vehicle or the like, to enable repetition of stable exothermic reaction for long terms. In the apparatus, a closed cycle includes a reactor filled with alkali earth oxide, a water tank, a water supply pipe to supply water from the water tank into the reactor, and a reflux pipe to return the water from the reactor to the water tank. Reversible reaction between the alkali earth oxide and the water is carried out in the closed system. A pump supplies the reactor with water, and a solenoid valve controls a water supply. The exothermic heat generating apparatus uses heat generated by hydration reaction of the alkali earth oxide to rapidly heat a catalytic section, a cooling water section, an air intake section and the like at a time of engine start-up.

A heat and mass transfer device for transmitting heat between a fluid flowing within a pipe and a solution flowing on the outside of the pipe. The device comprises at least one vertically upright tubular pipe and a U-shaped folded metal fin strip twisted helically around the periphery of the pipe. The spacing of the fins on the pipe is such that a pulsating flow of the solution flowing on the outside of the pipe is achieved.

Heat and mass transfer device

An improved mass transfer heat exchanger in which heat transmission surfaces are more effectively used and having excellent mass transmission characteristics. Heat transmission pipes are arranged vertically in a tank, extending through a partition board dividing the tank into upper and lower chambers. A solution lead-in pipe supplies a high-density solution to be subjected to heat exchange to the upper chamber, and a pump draws a low-density solution obtained by mass exchange out of the lower chamber and delivers a part thereof to the upper chamber. The upper and lower chambers are communicated through a return pipe which delivers to the lower chamber an intermediate-density solution obtained by mixing the high-density solution and a surplus of the low-density solution in the upper chamber. A vapor lead-in pipe supplies vapor to the lower chamber. The intermediate-density solution flows down the heat transmission pipes, passing through gaps between the partition boards and heat transmission pipes.

Mass transfer heat exchanger

A steam generating and condensing apparatus having a steam generating chamber in which a diluted solution flowing from an absorption device and containing a refrigerant absorbed therein flows outside of the pipes of a steam generating heat exchanger to evaporate the refrigerant from the diluted solution with a hot fluid flowing through the pipes of the steam generating heat exchanger, and a steam condensing chamber in which the refrigerant steam supplied through a partition from the steam generating chamber is condensed by a steam condensing heat exchanger. A double-cylinder assembly is provided composed of outer and inner cylinders, with the inner cylinder being divided by a dispersing end plate into upper and lower chambers serving as a dispersing diluted solution chamber and the steam generating chamber, respectively. The inner and outer cylinders jointly define a space in which the steam condensing chamber is disposed. The partition has eliminators on an upper portion thereof. The dispersing diluted solution pool is provided with a diluted solution inlet pipe. The steam generating chamber has a concentrated solution outlet pipe in a lower portion thereof.
