A temperature sensor includes a thermo-sensitive element, a pair of element electrode wires electrically connected to the thermo-sensitive element, a sealing body covering the thermo-sensitive element and part of the pair of the element electrode wires, and a tablet formed with a pair of insertion holes through which the pair of the element electrode wires pass. An air bubble is formed at a position within the glass sealing body on a distal end side opposite to the tablet. The center of the air bubble is located within the outline of the thermo-sensitive element when viewed in the axial direction of the pair of the element electrode wires.

Temperature sensor

A temperature sensor includes a thermo-sensitive element, a pair of element electrode wires electrically connected to the thermo-sensitive element, a glass sealing body that covers the thermo-sensitive element and part of the pair of the element electrode wires, and a tablet formed with a pair of insertion holes extending in an axial direction thereof, through which the pair of the element electrode wires pass respectively. The glass sealing body includes a sealing part formed so as to extend from an element side end surface thereof located on a side of the thermo-sensitive element toward the thermo-sensitive element, and a sagging part formed in each of the pair of the insertion holes so as to extend integrally from the sealing part. The length of the sagging part in the axial direction being smaller than or equal to 1.5 mm.

A temperature sensor has a thermosensitive element that detects temperature, a pair of element electrode wires electrically connected to the thermosensitive element, and a glass sealing body that has a sealing portion covering the thermosensitive element and a part of the element electrode wires. Further, the temperature sensor has a tablet that has an interface and a pair of insertion holes into which the element electrode wires are inserted, the tablet being joined to the glass sealing body through the interface. Further, the temperature sensor has a low Young's modulus layer provided in the glass sealing body, made of a material having lower low Young's modulus than that of a material forming the sealing portion, and at least partially connecting the sealing portion and the interface of the tablet.

A temperature sensorincludes: a thermosensitive elementcomposed of a low-thermal expansion ceramics having a coefficient of linear expansion of 3&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. to 5&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. and of which electrical characteristics change depending on temperature; a pair of electrode filmsprovided on the surfaces of the thermosensitive element; and a pair of lead wires having a coefficient of linear expansion of 15&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or less and bonded to the electrode films. When the coefficients of linear expansion of the thermosensitive element, the electrode film, and the lead wireare respectively T(/&#xb0; C.), T(/&#xb0; C.), and T(/&#xb0; C.), the temperature sensorsatisfies a relationship T&#x2266;T&#x2266;T.

Temperature sensor including thermosensitive element

A paired temperature sensor includes two temperature sensors having electrical characteristics substantially equivalent at the same temperature range, each of the temperature sensor having a thermosensitive element therein that changes its electrical characteristics according to temperature, and a pair of lead wires, and a single connectorto which the two temperature sensors are connected via the lead wires. The two temperature sensors have electrical characteristics substantially equivalent at the same temperature range. The connector has positioning portions for allowing the connector to be connected in a predetermined orientation relative to a counterpart connector. There is provided at least one distinguishing difference between the two temperature sensors.

Paired temperature sensor and method of manufacturing the same

The temperature sensor includes a thermo-sensitive element, first and second electrode wires electrically connected to the thermo-sensitive element, first and second signal wires partially overlapped with and connected to the first and second electrode wires, respectively. The first and second electrode wires are made of a first metal material consisting primarily of Pt. The first and second signal wires are made of a second metal material containing Al and having a linear thermal expansion coefficient larger than that of the first metal material. Each of an overlap portion of the first electrode wire and the first signal wire and an overlap portion of the second electrode wire and the second signal wire includes a junction part formed by melting and thereafter coagulating the first or second electrode wire and the first or second signal wire. The junction part includes an oxidation film containing Al formed on a surface thereof.

A temperature sensing element includes a thermistor composed of Si-base ceramics and a pair of metal electrodes bonded onto the surfaces of the thermistor. The metal electrodes contain Cr and a metal element &#x3b1; having a Si diffusion coefficient higher than that of Cr. A diffusion layer is formed in a bonding interface between the thermistor and each metal electrode, the diffusion layer including a silicide of the metal element &#x3b1; in a crystal grain boundary of the Si-base ceramics. A temperature sensor including the diffusion layers is provided. Owing to the diffusion layers, the temperature sensor ensures heat resistance and bonding reliability and enables temperature detection with high accuracy in a temperature range, in particular, of from &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. to 1050&#xb0; C.

Temperature sensor element, method for manufacturing same, and temperature sensor

A temperature sensor including a temperature sensitive device which is disposed in a flow path through which fluid flows and whose electric characteristic changes as a function of temperature of the fluid in the flow path, signal lines connected at top end sides thereof to said temperature sensitive device through electrode wires and at base end sides thereof to lead wires for connection with an external circuit, a sheath member retaining the signal lines therein, and a holding member which holds an outer circumferential surface of said sheath member directly or indirectly through another member. The resonance (primary) frequency at a top end of the temperature sensor against acceleration in a radius direction of the temperature sensor is 480 Hz or less, thereby reducing the transmission of vibration to the top end of the temperature sensor to avoid the breakage of the temperature sensitive device and the disconnection of the electrode wires 502102 even when the temperature sensor resonates.

A protruding length Lthat is a distance between an inner circumference of a flow path through which fluid flows on an axis of a temperature sensor disposed in the flow path and the center of said temperature sensitive device is 50 mm or more. A protruding location that is a distance between an inner circumferential surface of the flow path and the center of said temperature sensitive device on a cross section extending perpendicular to the axis of said flow path through the center of said temperature sensitive device is defined as L'. A flow path width that is a distance between intersections of the axis of the temperature sensor with the inner circumferential surface of said flow path when the temperature sensor is projected onto said cross section is defined as D. Spark plug for internal-combustion engine and method for manufacturing the same

A spark plug for an internal combustion engine is disclosed having a metal shell having an outer periphery formed with a mounting thread, a porcelain insulator fixedly secured to the metal shell on a central axis thereof, a center electrode retained within the porcelain insulator along a central axis thereof with a distal end located outside the porcelain insulator, and a ground electrode joined to the metal shell and having an end associated with the distal end of the center electrode to define therebetween a spark discharge gap. The ground electrode includes a facing surface intersecting the central axis of the center electrode and having a width equal to or less than 1.6 mm.

Spark plug for internal combustion engine

A small-sized spark plug is provided which ensures the stability in the location of production of sparks between center and ground electrodes. The center and ground electrodes have joined thereon cylindrical members such as noble metal chips which are opposed to each other through a spark gap. The cylindrical members are so oriented to have longitudinal center lines extend parallel in misalignment with each other. This orientation results in shorter and longer intervals between end surfaces of the cylindrical members. The sparks are concentrated between portions of edges of cylindrical members located apart the shorter interval, thereby resulting in the stability in the location of production of the sparks.

Structure of spark plug ensuring stability in location of production of sparks

A spark plug according to the invention includes a metal shell, a hollow insulator, a center electrode, and a ground electrode. The insulator has a first end protruding into a combustion chamber of an engine and a second end opposite to the first end in the lengthwise direction of the insulator. The insulator increases in outer diameter from the edge of the inner surface thereof at the first end to a reference plane that is defined to extend perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the insulator and away 0.1 mm from the edge of the inner surface of the insulator toward the second end of the same in the lengthwise direction. Further, a first volume V, which is the volume of a portion of the insulator between the edge of the inner surface of the insulator and the reference plane, is in the range of 0.15 to 0.38 mm.
