A branched organosilicon compound ('compound') is provided having the general formula: (R)Si—X—NRR, where X is a divalent linking group; Ris H or R; Rcomprises an acryloxy moiety; each Ris selected from R and —OSi(R), with the proviso that at least one Ris —OSi(R); where each Ris selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]mOSiR; where each Ris selected from R, —OSi(R), and —[OSiR]OSiR; and where each Ris selected from R and —[OSiR]OSiR, with the proviso that at least one of R, Rand Ris —[OSiR]OSiR; 0≤m≤100; and each R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group. Also provided is a method of preparing the compound, a copolymer comprising the reaction product of the compound and a second compound reactive with the compound, a method of forming the copolymer, and a composition including at least one of the compound and the copolymer.

Branched organosilicon compound, method of preparing same, and copolymer formed therewith

Provided is a silicone anti-foaming agent composition that not only has superior anti-foaming speed but also in which anti-foaming performance is not reduced even when used repeatedly or over a long period. The composition comprises: a polyorganosiloxane polymer crosslinked product having a polyoxyalkylene group, which includes: moiety structure (I): -R-(RSiO)-R(where Rrepresents an alkylene group bonded to a silicon atom on the polysiloxane chain, Rrepresents a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and d is 200 to 1000); and moiety structure (II): —(CH)—O—(EO)-(PO)-(BO)-R(where a single bond on the left end is bonded to a silicon atom on the polysiloxane chain, Rrepresents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an acyl group, e is 2 to 10, (x+y+z) is 40 to 100, x is 15 to 50, y is 15 to 50, and z is 0 to 50).

Silicone-based defoamer composition

Provided is a silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound that has not only superior anti-foaming speed but also anti-foaming performance that does not degrade with repeated use or use over a long period. The silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound comprises: (A) an essentially hydrophobic organopolysiloxane with a viscosity at 25° C. of 2,500 to 50,000 mPa·s: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (B) a hydrophobic organopolysiloxane or cyclic organopolysiloxane having silanol groups at least at both terminals: 20 to 80 parts by mass; (C) a silane or silane condensation product: 1 to 10 parts by mass; and (D) a fine powder silica with a specific surface area of 50 m/g or more: 2 to 10 parts by mass; where the total amount of (A) and (B) combined is 100 parts by mass. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the silicone based anti-foaming agent oil compound.

A composition comprises: a branched organosilicon compound; an acrylate-functional compound other than the branched organosilicon compound; and optionally a carrier vehicle. The branched organosilicon compound has the following general formula (I): (R)Si&#x2014;X (I); where X comprises a acryloxy-functional moiety, and each Ris selected from &#x2014;OSi(R)and R, with the proviso that at least one Ris &#x2014;OSi(R); where each R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group; where each Ris selected from R, &#x2014;OSi(R), and &#x2014;[OSiR]OSiR; where each Ris selected from R, &#x2014;OSi(R), and &#x2014;[OSiR]OSiR; where each Ris selected from R and &#x2014;[OSiR]OSiR; with the proviso that at least one of R, Rand Ris &#x2014;[OSiR]OSiR; and where 0&#x2264;m&#x2264;100. A method of preparing a copolymer is further provided.

Composition, method of preparing copolymer, and methods and end uses thereof

A detergent composition comprises a trisiloxane having at least one carbinol functional group. The trisiloxane comprises the reaction product of (A) an initial trisiloxane and (B) an organic compound. Component (A) has a pendant silicon-bonded functional group selected from a hydrogen atom, an epoxy-containing group, an ethylenically unsaturated group, and an amine group. Typically, component (A) is free of certain terminal silicon-bonded functional groups and is free of polyoxyalkylene groups. Component (B) has a functional group reactive with the pendant silicon-bonded functional group of component (A), and has at least one hydroxyl functional group. The trisiloxane may be of the following general formula (I): (RSiO)(RRSiO)(RSiO) (I). In formula (I), each Ris an independently selected hydrocarbyl group. Rmay be selected from the groups (i) to (x) described herein, each of the groups having at least one carbinol group. Typically, the trisiloxane has 1-6 carbinol groups.

Detergent composition comprising a carbinol functional trisiloxane

The present invention relates to a monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative with purity of not less than 92% and electrical conductivity of not greater than 50 &#x3bc;S/cm. The monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative can be manufactured by a manufacturing method comprising a step (A): a step of reacting a ketalized glycerin derivative and a monoalkenyl glycidyl ether in the presence of an inorganic base to obtain a ketal of monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative; a step (B): a step of purifying the ketal of monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative obtained in the step (A) by distillation; and a step (C): a step of hydrolyzing the ketal of monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative obtained in the step (B). The present invention is able to provide a high-purity monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative that was difficult in the past. It is further able to provide a glycerin derivative-modified silicone, and applications therefor, that is chemically stable, and further has excellent utility for its emulsifiability, and the like, and excellent formulation stability.

High-purity monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative and method of manufacturing same

A phenol-modified polyorganosiloxane suitable as a modifier for an organic resin, in which a platinum metal content is reduced, and the yellowing is reduced, a method for preparing the same, and a modifier for an organic resin containing the same are provided. The phenol-modified polyorganosiloxane is a compound of formula (I), having a platinum metal content of 0.9 ppm or less. The phenol-modified polyorganosiloxane can be prepared by subjecting a phenol compound substituted with an alkenyl group of formula (IV) and a polyorganohydrogen siloxane of formula (V) to a hydrosilation reaction in the presence of a platinum-based catalyst applicable to a homogenous system, and subsequently, reducing the platinum metal content of the resulting product to 0.9 ppm or less by conducting one or more filtration procedures selected from the group consisting of filtration conducted where activated carbon is added, filtration conducted by using a filter comprising activated carbon, and filtration conducted by using a filter capable of adsorbing cations, alone or in combination.

Phenol-modified polyorganosiloxane with reduced platinum content, method for preparing the same, and modifier for organic resin containing the same

The present invention relates to a use of an acid in a manufacture of an organopolysiloxane through a condensation reaction of a silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded hydroxyl group and a silicon-containing compound containing a silicon-bonded aminoxy group. Particularly, the present invention relates to a low-odor composition including such an organopolysiloxane. The composition according to the present invention can have little odor caused by a by-product produced via the condensation reaction described above.

Use of acid in the manufacture of organopolysiloxane

[Problem to be Solved] To provide a non-curable coating composition which is used for preventing or reducing the adhesion of various sticky substances to the surfaces of substrates and is stable at elevated temperature, by using modified silicones having functional groups. [Means to Solve the Problem] A non-curable coating composition characterized by containing a carboxy-modified silicone with a carboxy group at a side chain thereof, and an epoxy/oxyalkylene-modified silicone with an epoxy group and an oxyalkylene group at a side chain thereof in a weight ratio ranging from 1:2 to 1:30, and further comprising an oxyalkylene-modified silicone having an HLB of 10 or more with an oxyalkylene group at a side chain thereof.

Non-curable coating composition

A non-curable coating composition which uses a modified silicone having a functional group and can effectively prevent or reduce adhesion of sticky contamination substances to the surface of a substrate is provided. The non-curable coating composition contains a carboxy-modified silicone having carboxy-containing groups at side chains, and an epoxy/oxyalkylene-modified silicone having an epoxy-containing group and an oxyethylene-containing group at side chains, in a weight ratio ranging from 1:2 to 1:30.
