An electrochemical cell includes an all-solid-state electrode body in which a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer are laminated together through a solid electrolyte and an exterior body having a cavity in which the electrode body is stored. The exterior body has a first case and a second case which sandwich the electrode body and a sealing member that defines the cavity together with the first case and the second case by joining the first case and the second. The thermal expansion coefficients of the electrode body, the first case, the second case, and the sealing member are all 10&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or lower.

A battery includes: an electrode body; and an external body which is formed by overlapping a first sheet and a second sheet, and in which the electrode body is accommodated. The external body includes an accommodation portion which is formed in the first sheet, and which accommodates the electrode body therein, and a circumferential edge portion in which the first sheet and the second sheet overlap each other around the accommodation portion. The inside of the accommodation portion is sealed in a state where the first sheet and the second sheet are welded to each other in the circumferential edge portion.

An electrochemical cell includes an electrode body which includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode and an outer package which is formed by overlapping a first member and a second member. The outer package includes: a housing portion which houses the electrode body; and a sealing portion which is formed along an outer circumference of the housing portion, by fusing and bending the first member and the second member, at a portion corresponding to the outer circumference of the housing portion.

Electrochemical cell and manufacturing method of the electrochemical cell

A battery includes an electrode body including a positive electrode body and a negative electrode body and an exterior body in which the electrode body is housed. The exterior body includes a first container formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape and including a first circumferential wall section, a second container formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape and including a second circumferential wall section surrounding the first circumferential wall section, the second container housing the electrode body between the second container and the first container, and a fusing member interposed between the first circumferential wall section and the second circumferential wall section and fused to the first circumferential wall section and the second circumferential wall section.

The present invention provides an electrochemical cell including: an electrode body; an exterior packaging body in which a plurality of substrates including a first substrate formed from a ceramic material are stacked in the first direction, and a cavity in which the electrode body is accommodated is formed; a first electrode connection wiring that is formed in the exterior packaging body and connects a first electrode layer and an external substrate to each other; and a second electrode connection wiring that is forming in the exterior packaging body and connects a second electrode layer and the external substrate to each other. At least the first electrode connection wiring is formed in the first substrate, and an attachment portion, to which a fastening member configured to mount at least the first electrode connection wiring to the external substrate is attached, is formed in the first substrate.

The present invention is an all-solid-state electrode body including: a positive electrode via that is formed in a negative electrode connection layer, and connects a plurality of a positive electrode connection layers adjacent to each other in a first direction; a negative electrode via that is formed in the positive electrode connection layer, and connects a plurality of the negative electrode connection layers adjacent to each other in the first direction; a positive electrode current collector layer which is exposed on a first surface that faces one side of the first direction in a stacked body, and is connected to the positive electrode connection layer via the positive electrode via; and a negative electrode current collector layer which is exposed on the first surface in the stacked body, and is connected to the negative electrode connection layer via the negative electrode via.

All-solid-state electrode body and electrochemical cell

A fuel cell has a membrane electrode assembly (MEA), a supply member for supplying an anode fluid to the MEA, and a gas diffusion layer provide between the supply member and the MEA. The MEA has an electrolyte membrane and an anode catalyst. The supply member has at least one anode fluid flow path for supplying the anode fluid toward the MEA. The anode fluid flow path has an opening provided on a discharge side thereof for the anode fluid. A space for storing a gas pushed by the supply of the anode fluid is disposed between the opening of the anode fluid flow path and the gas diffusion layer so that the opening of the anode fluid flow path and the gas diffusion layer are not in direct contact with one another.

A fuel cell has a membrane electrode assembly and a supply member for supplying an anode fluid to the membrane electrode assembly. The membrane electrode assembly has an electrolyte membrane and an anode catalyst. The supply member has at least one anode fluid flow path for supplying the anode fluid toward the membrane electrode assembly. A gas diffusion layer is provided between the supply member and the membrane electrode assembly. An opening of the at least one anode fluid flow path on a discharge side thereof for the anode fluid is disposed in contact with a side of the gas diffusion layer facing the supply member. The side of the gas diffusion layer includes a region that stores a gas pushed by the supply of the anode fluid.

The electrochemical cell of the present invention is provided with a hermetic container having a base member, a jointing material fixed to the base member, and a lid member welded on the base member via the jointing material, and in which a housing space sealed between the base member and the lid member is defined, and an electrochemical element which is housed inside the housing space and which is available to effect charging and discharging, wherein the lid member is made of stainless steel.

An electric double layer capacitor with a low resistance value is disclosed. The electric double layer capacitor includes an electrochemical device in the inside of a housing container and capable of achieving charge and discharge via external terminals, wherein the electrochemical device includes a pair of electrodes, a separator disposed between the pair of electrodes, and an electrolytic solution with which the pair of electrodes and the separator are impregnated; when a volume between the pair of electrodes is designated as Ve, and a volume of a void in an inter-electrode part of the separator disposed between the pair of electrodes is designated as Se, an inter-electrode part void ratio Re is defined as Re=Se/Ve&#xd7;100 (%); and when a thickness of the inter-electrode part is designated as L2 (&#x3bc;m), and a separator evaluation index Ie is defined as Ie=L2/Re (&#x3bc;m/%), a relation of Ie&#x2266;1.0 (&#x3bc;m/%) is satisfied.

An electric double-layer capacitor is provided in which an upper end portion of a recessed container is sealed by a sealing plate. An electrode and an electrode are accommodated in a hollow portion formed by a recessed portion and the sealing plate. One step portion is formed in the middle of one inner peripheral surface of the recessed portion, and another step portion is formed in the middle of the other opposing inner peripheral surface. The one step portion and said another step portion are formed at the same height, and upper surfaces of those step portions exist on the same plane.

A power supply apparatus has a combined power source with power cells configured electrically independently. A switch arbitrarily changes connection paths of the power cells by selectively connecting terminals of the power cells through switching elements. A detector detects differences in electrical potentials between power cell terminals. An output detector detects a power consumption in a load and/or an output power of the power source. ON-OFF states of the switching elements are controlled by a control signal generated based on voltage signals representing detected differences in electrical potentials, power consumption, and output power. A connection status of each power cell is controlled so as to halt outputting of the power cell having the lowest output voltage if it is detected that a detected power value is equal to or lower than an output power preset based on a power generating capacity of the power source.

Power supply apparatus

A power supply apparatus has a combined power source with power cells configured electrically independently. A switch arbitrarily changes connection paths of the power cells by selectively connecting power cell terminals through switching elements. A voltage detector detects differences in electrical potentials between the power cell terminals. A controller controls ON-OFF states of the switching elements by controlling the switch by a control signal generated based on voltage signals representing the differences in electrical potentials detected by the voltage detector so as to isolate one of the power cells to stop a supply of electric power therefrom when a voltage generated in the power cell has dropped to a specified voltage or lower. The controller restarts the supply of electric power from the power cell whose power supply has been stopped when the duration of a down time of the power cell has reached a predetermined time or longer.

A hydrogen generator has a reaction chamber that contains a complex hydride capable of reacting with an aqueous acid solution to generate hydrogen. A storage chamber contains an aqueous acid solution that is supplied through a supply pipe to the reaction chamber to react with the complex hydride to generate hydrogen. The total weight of water contained in the aqueous acid solution is 0.2 times or more, but 3 times or less, than the weight of the complex hydride. A control device controls the supplying of the aqueous acid solution through the supply pipe to the reaction chamber based on a reference pressure such that the aqueous acid solution is repeatedly supplied to the reaction chamber when the reference pressure is greater than the internal pressure within the reaction chamber and not supplied to the reaction chamber when the reference pressure is less than the reaction chamber internal pressure.
