The steering apparatus in which at least part of the transmission lines (L, L) which transmit the control quantity of steering from the steering wheel () to the rudder () is constituted from a steering cable such as wire so as to steer the rudder by transmitting the control quantity of operating the steering wheel to the rudder through reciprocal motion of the transmission line. The assisting force supplying means () is additionally installed and the intermediate linkage rod () is installed to interpose in the transmission line, with the transmission line (L) for transmitting the assisting force supplied from the assisting force supplying means being connected to said intermediate linkage rod in addition to the transmission lines described above, so that the intermediate linkage rod is moved back and forth by the sum of the manual force from said steering wheel and the assisting force from the assisting force supplying means, thereby to steer the rudder.

Steering device

A helm pump ( ) rotated either in forward or reverse direction by operating a steering wheel ( ) and discharges a liquid of a quantity proportional to the rotating angle, and a double action cylinder moves a rudder ( ) and is provided on rudder ( ) side of the ship, helm pump ( ) and the double action cylinder being connected with the hydraulic circuit of fully closed construction, to move the rudder ( ) by an amount corresponding to the amount of liquid discharged from the helm pump ( ). A second pump generates discharging pressure in the same direction as the discharging direction from helm pump ( ) against resistive pressure generated by the rotation of helm pump ( ) due to the operation of steering wheel ( ) is installed in series in part of the fully closed hydraulic circuit, so the steering resistance of steering wheel ( ) is automatically reduced by the action of the second pump.

A modular construction which is suitable for use as a pen holder is fabricated from a plurality of flat board members detachably connected to each other by connecting members having a plurality of wing pieces disposed at a suitable angle relative to each other and provided with board member receiving grooves. The board members and connecting members may be assembled into a holder having at least one tubular compartment having a bottom member detachably secured therein. The shape of the various compartments can be varied by changing the angle between the wing pieces of the connecting members and some connecting members may be provided with upwardly and downwardly opening grooves for assembling a two tiered structure of board members.

A rack assembly apparatus assembled by fitting panels and transverse beams to connection members, said apparatus characterized in that panel fitting plates consisting of two parallel panel fitting support plates are formed at the base of each of said connection members so as to project vertically from both surfaces and to define a panel fitting groove between said panel fitting support plates, an engaging protuberance is formed at the bottom of each of said panel fitting grooves, a transverse fitting groove is defined along the outer surface of said panel fitting plate, an engaging protuberance is also formed at the bottom of said transverse beam fitting groove, said panel and said transverse beam are equipped with engaging notches, respectively, said panel is fitted into said panel fitting groove of said connection member while said transverse beam is fitted into said transverse beam fitting groove, said engaging notches of said panel and said transverse beam are engaged with said protuberances of said connection member, respectively and rack plates are placed on said transverse beams.

There is disclosed a device for fixedly connecting panels for use in building of structures, in making of furniture or fittings, in which two sheets of panel are clamped by shaped materials for edge frame and pressing frame made of a hard synthetic resin or a metallic material such as aluminium or the like, said shaped material for edge frame being provided with recesses; a plug is fitted in each recess, said plug being made of a resilient synthetic resin or rubber and having a hole; and a wedge is inserted in said plug through said hole, thus two sheets of panel being firmly connected and retained in place.

Device for fixedly connecting panels for use in building

A frame is comprised of a plurality of channel-shaped members each having an inwardly extending flange for supporting a display panel. A L-shaped member is inserted in each channel with one leg thereof extending inwardly in parallel spaced relation to the flange for gripping a display panel therebetween. The other leg of the L-shaped member and one wall of the channel are provided with corregations and a plug is inserted into the channel to dispose the corregation in interfitting relation thereby securing the L-shaped member to the channel-shaped member. The plug is provided with a hole and a wedge is forced into the hole to expand the plug into tight frictional engagement with the channel and the L-shaped member.
