The invention aims at providing an NRD guide transceiver not requiring a change-over switch for transmission and reception, a download system being of a simple structure and capable of downloading large-capacity data such as video data and the like in a short time using this transceiver and a download memory used in this system, said NRD guide transceiver comprising a pair of dielectric strips () disposed between a pair of conductor plates () arranged in parallel with each other at a specified interval, wherein Schottky barrier diodes () are connected to the respective ends of both of said pair of dielectric strips, a low pass filter () is connected to a signal input terminal and a high pass filter () is connected to an IF output terminal.

An LSE mode, which is a parasitic mode, can be effectively suppressed by a simple structure, and a reduction in size and weight can be thereby facilitated. Further, a metal bodyis arranged in the vicinity of a dielectric waveguideof an NRD guide to suppress the LSE mode, the NRD guide being configured to propagate electromagnetic waves through the dielectric waveguidewhich is sandwiched between parallel conductor plates with a gap of less than a &#xbd; wavelength. This metal bodyhas an arbitrary shape, and may have a discoid shape, an elliptic shape or a prismatic shape. Furthermore, an even distance d is maintained between the metal bodyand the dielectric waveguide, and a phase constant difference can be suppressed by changing this distance d.

In order to realize with a low loss a hybrid structure in which an NRD guide is used for a transmission part and a microstrip line is used for a circuit element loading part, the present device includes: a dielectric waveguide () which is sandwiched between parallel conductor plates and has a gap which is less than a &#xbd; wavelength; a microstrip line () which is provided on a side surface of a metal rod () opposite to the dielectric waveguide (), the metal rod () being adjacently arranged in parallel with the dielectric waveguide (); and a coaxial line () which pierces the metal rod () and connects the dielectric waveguide () with the microstrip line ().

A leakage dielectric waveguide includes a housing made of plane-shaped electrical conductors located parallel to each other, and a dielectric strip for propagating a high-frequency wave between the parallel electrical conductors, wherein the dielectric strip is provided within the housing. The housing is arranged to be asymmetrical, thereby leaking and radiating a high-frequency wave propagating through the dielectric strip. The housing is preferably further composed of the plane-shaped parallel electrical conductors and a side wall. A plane antenna includes the above-mentioned leakage dielectric waveguide, and a projecting device for projecting the high-frequency wave toward a free space in response to a high-frequency wave being projected from the dielectric waveguide. A dielectric waveguide consists of dielectric strips sandwiched between two parallel conductive plates whose inner surfaces are covered with thin dielectric layers. The other space of the waveguide is filled with an appropriate dielectric medium which can be air or any other low loss dielectric material whose dielectric constant is smaller than that of the dielectric strips.
