Disclosed herein is an information input/output system including an indication operation device, and an information processing device including a sensor. The indication operation device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a signal generation circuit which generates a signal to be transmitted to the information processing device, a first transmission circuit which transmits the signal from the signal generation circuit to the sensor of the information processing device through the first electrode or the second electrode, a reception circuit which receives information from the information processing device through the first electrode or the second electrode, an information storage device which stores the information received by the reception circuit, and a transmitter which transmits the information stored in the information storage device to an outside of the indication operation device. The information processing device includes a processor, an acquisition circuit, and a second transmission circuit.

A data communication a system including: a stylus including a pen point electrode; a sensor controller; and a host processor. The stylus of data communication system is configured to transmit a pen signal with an electric field by capacitive coupling between the pen point electrode and a sensor electrode group; report, by the sensor controller, a position of the stylus in an operation surface to the host processor in response to detection of the pen signal by the sensor electrode group; supply, by the host processor, data to the sensor controller; and transmit, by the sensor controller, the data to the stylus in a stylus detection period in which the pen signal that is detected by the sensor electrode group indicates that the stylus is present within a predetermined distance from the operation surface.

Disclosed herein is a coordinate output device that outputs absolute coordinates indicating a position in a predetermined region or relative coordinates, according to a position indicated by a position indicator. The coordinate output device continues to output the relative coordinates while the absolute coordinates are not acquired, and starts output of the absolute coordinates and stops the output of the relative coordinates in response to acquisition of the absolute coordinates.

A digital ink processing system, method, and program are provided that are capable of presenting, to a user, useful and highly relevant information as a search result when a search is performed using digital ink. A processor included in a tablet enables a pointing operation of an electronic pen relative to a stroke or strokes. The processor, after enabling the pointing operation of the electronic pen, performs a search for content related to a semantic attribute of the stroke or strokes pointed at, or requests an external server to perform the search. The processor performs control so as to display the related content retrieved by the search on a display with the stroke or strokes.

Provided is a display system including a position indicating device and an information processing apparatus having a display screen and a sensor that detects a position indicated by the position indicating device. The position indicating device includes a casing, an interaction circuit disposed inside the casing, where the interaction circuit exchanges a signal with the sensor, and a securing member that secures the casing to the display screen. The information processing apparatus includes a position detection circuit that detects the position indicated by the position indicating device that is secured to the display screen through the securing member, based on the signal exchanged by the interaction circuit, and a control circuit that performs control to display a given display image on the display screen with the position indicated by the position indicating device and detected by the position detection circuit used as a reference.
