A light emitting device includes light emission units, a voltage generator, a lighting selector, and a drive control unit. Each light emission unit includes light emitting component groups each of which includes a light emitting component array and a drive switch. The light emitting component array includes light emitting components that are connected in series. The drive switch is connected in series to the light emitting component array to drive the light emitting component array. The lighting selector selects the light emitting component group that is to be lit on according to brightness intensity required for each light emission unit. The drive control unit controls each drive switch independently according to the selection by the lighting selector and controls to light on each light emitting component group independently and controls the voltage generator to generate a common drive voltage.

Light emitting device, display device and method of driving light emitting device

A light emitting device includes light emitting component sets, a voltage measurement circuit, a voltage generator, and a drive controller. The voltage measurement circuit is configured to measure voltages at connecting points between light emitting component lines and drive switches. The voltage generator includes a plurality of smoothing capacitors for the light emitting component sets, respectively. The voltage generator is configured to generate a drive voltage applied to the light emitting component sets using one of the smoothing capacitors. The drive controller is configured to select the smoothing capacitor corresponding to the light emitting component set, the measured voltage of which is the lowest among the light emitting component sets on which lighting control is performed to alter the drive voltage according to alteration of the lighting control. The drive controller is configured to control the voltage generator to generate the drive voltage using the selected smoothing capacitor.

The ionizer includes a nozzle having a discharge electrode for inducing corona discharge by application of high voltage to eject ions, an emission port for emitting supplied gas together with the ejected ions, and a gas channel for guiding supplied gas to the emission port. Ionizer and static elimination method

The present invention relates to suppressing wear and contamination of the electrode needle as well as effectively removing the electricity from a charged body. An electricity removal mode in which the electrode needle is applied with a high voltage to produce ions and a halt mode in which the electrode needle is halted are provided, that are alternatively selected based on a selection of a user. The halt mode includes a halt period during which the high voltage is not basically applied on the electrode needle. When a self discharge occurs by approach of a charged body in this halt period and an absolute value of current that flows through the resistance exceeds the first threshold value, the electricity removal operation is initiated in which the high voltage is applied on the electrode needle to produce ions. Subsequently, after a predetermined time period passes, for example, the electricity removal operation is terminated and the halt period is resumed.

Electricity removal apparatus

A static eliminator generates ions by applying positive and negative high voltages to a discharge electrode of a discharge head. The static eliminator includes a high voltage power supply unit including a high voltage power supply circuit and a high voltage cable for supplying a high voltage generated in the high voltage power supply unit to the discharge head. The discharge head includes a tubular insulator disposed surrounding the discharge electrode, and a tubular ground electrode placed on an outer periphery side of the insulator. Further, the discharge head includes an electrode holding part for supporting the discharge electrode with the discharge electrode piercing in a deep part of the tubular insulator.

Static eliminator

A corona discharge apparatus includes a control unit and a discharge unit. The control unit has a baseboard with a main power source circuit located thereon. A CPU, a memory as well as other elements such as an attachment for a gas supply source are&rsqb; installed in a housing of the control unit. The discharge unit has a high voltage generation circuit including a high-frequency step-up transformer installed in a housing of the discharge unit. A cable including a power line and a signal communication line is detachably connectable to the control unit and the discharge unit to electrically couple the units together through connectors secured to the respective housings. A gas guide tube is also detachably connectable to the discharge unit housing to feed a gas from the gas supply source into the discharge unit.
