An electronic device having an accessory device such as an AC adapter is constructed so that the part that holds the accessory device is not a dedicated part of the electronic device and allows the easy dissipation of heat. The electronic device has an installation member configured to attach an accessory device to the part of the electronic device that is the bottom when the electronic device is in place for use; and a support member configured discretely from the installation member, and supporting the electronic device on the installation surface when the electronic device is installed for use.

A fiscal board receiving case is provided. A management board receiving case includes a case main body and a lid connected to the case main body and receives a management board on which a memory storing data including fiscal information and a management board-side connector are mounted. A control board receiving case includes a case main body and a lid connected to the case main body and receives a control board on which a controller and a control board-side connector connected to the management board-side connector are mounted. The management board receiving case and the control board receiving case are configured such that one box-like body that receives at least the management board is formed while the management board-side connector and the control board-side connector are connected to each other by engaging the management board receiving case with the control board receiving case through engagement members provided in the cases. The management board receiving case and the control board receiving case are configured such that engagement between the cases and engagement between the case main body and the lid in each of the cases are irreversibly maintained after the cases are engaged with each other.

A data storage device is provided. At least a storage section configured to store information therein and a connection terminal configured to transmit information are mounted on a substrate. A casing accommodates the substrate, the casing is formed with an opening to expose a connection portion of the connection terminal to the outside. A shield plate configured to shield the opening of the casing. A shield plate actuation mechanism is configured to detect a connection state between the connection terminal and a receiving terminal to which the connection terminal is connected and actuate the shield plate. The shield plate actuation mechanism actuates the shield plate to shield the opening when the shield plate actuation mechanism detects that the connection terminal is separated from the receiving terminal.
