A medical instrument includes a handpiece, a tank portion for housing a fluid, a plunger that changes a volume or pressure of an inside of the tank portion to suction the fluid into the tank portion or discharge the fluid from the tank portion, and an operating unit for operating the plunger. The handpiece includes a grip portion at the front end, and an operation member of the operating unit is disposed on a side of the grip portion.

A retinal function measurement apparatus capable of measuring a retinal function accurately and precisely. The apparatus has a first image obtaining optical system for obtaining a tomographic image of a fundus by optical coherence tomography using low coherent light, the optical system including a light source emitting the low coherent light, a scanning unit scanning measurement light being a part of the emitted low coherent light on the fundus, an interference optical system for synthesizing the measurement light reflected from the fundus and reference light being a part of the emitted low coherent light to interfere, and a first photodetector photo-receiving the interfered light, a stimulating light irradiation optical system for performing irradiation of stimulating light onto the fundus, and an image processing unit obtaining information on a retinal function by performing processing on a first tomographic image and a second tomographic image before/after the irradiation of the stimulating light.

Retinal function measurement apparatus

A fundus camera having a function of measuring a retinal function, capable of picking up (obtaining) a sharp color image of a fundus suitable for a fundus examination and measuring a retinal function with high accuracy comprises an illumination optical system comprising a visible light source, an image-pickup optical system comprising an image-pickup element, a mode selection switch for performing switching between a fundus photographing mode and a retinal function measurement mode based on variance of an intrinsic signal of a retina made by retinal stimulation, and a control unit which controls the optical systems, wherein the unit lowers, when the retinal function measurement mode is selected, illumination intensity of the illumination optical system per unit time in illuminating the fundus than that in picking up the color fundus image, and controls the element to pick up first and second visible fundus images at different points in time.

Fundus camera

A fundus camera includes a first illumination optical system for illuminating the fundus of the eye with infrared light, a second illumination optical system for illuminating the fundus of the eye with visible light used for photography that shares a part of the optical path with the first illumination optical system. A target projection optical system projects a target for focusing on the fundus. An observation optical system is provided with a focusing lens and a photographic element sensitive to infrared, thereby allowing the fundus to be observed. A display mechanism is provided to display an image obtained by the observational optical system. In addition, a mechanism is provided to move the target plate on the optical axis by interlocking the movement of the focusing lens with the observational optical system.

A fundus camera capable of obtaining a fundus image while keeping a fixed field angle even if an eye is not emmetropia, and advantageously utilizing a photographed image for diagnosis. The camera includes a photographing optical system having a photographing optical axis, a focusing lens arranged movable along the axis in an optical-axis direction, and a first element which picks up a fundus image illuminated with illumination light for photographing via the lens, a unit which moves the lens, a unit which detects a position of the lens, a display, and a display control unit which synthesizes the fundus image picked up by the element within an opening of a display frame figure, a size of the opening determined by a detection result of the detecting unit, to display as an image keeping a fixed field angle regardless of visibility of the eye, and displays on the display.

An ophthalmic photographing apparatus capable of photographing a fundus and a slit-sectioned anterior segment of an eye in non-mydriatic conditions. The apparatus is provided with a light source unit including an infrared light source optical system for observation and a visible light source optical system for photographing, a hand-held photographing unit including a first illumination optical system with an illumination lens, and an observation/photographing optical system with an objective lens, and being separated from the light source unit, a slit light illumination unit including a second illumination optical system with a slit plate and an illumination lens, and being removably attached to the photographing unit, and a photoconductive tube connecting the light source unit to the photographing or illumination unit and transmitting infrared light for observation and visible light for photographing from the light source unit to the first or second illumination optical system.

Ophthalmic photographing apparatus

A fundus photographing device for conducting infrared fluorescence photography on a fundus of an examinee's eye after intravenously injecting a fluorescent agent which emits fluorescence of an infrared region into veins is disclosed. This device includes an illumination optical system for illuminating the fundus with exciting light, thereby exciting the injected fluorescent agent, the exciting light being of wavelengths in a wavelength region of not maximum absorption but maximum fluorescent intensity of the fluorescent agent.

Fundus photographing device

A method for analyzing a stereoscopic image of a fundus to detect and analyze an optic disk part on the basis of the stereoscopic image of the fundus, which can provide highly reliable results of analysis even if the fundus is inclined. The method includes: a first step of designating a disk line in the stereoscopic image of the fundus; a second step of determining a lowest point in a disk region which is determined by the designated disk line; a third step of determining a cross section of the disk region at each predetermined angle centering on the lowest point; a fourth step of determining highest points at both ends of a line of longitude on each cross section of the disk region; a fifth step of setting as a cup point a level which is lower from the highest points by a predetermined depth; and a sixth step of forming a cup rim by consecutively connecting the cup points in the cross sections of the disk region determined in the fifth step.

Method for analyzing a stereoscopic image of a fundus, and an apparatus

In an ophthalmic measurement apparatus providing optical systems for focusing-and-projecting a laser beam for use in measuring onto an anterior portion of an eye to be examined, and for receiving a scattered light by the internal tissues of the anterior portion of the eye by a scattered laser beam by guiding the scattered light to a photoelectric transducing element, and for measuring tissues and components in the internal parts of the anterior portion of the eye based on an output signal transmitted from the photoelectric transducing element, alignment is performed by advancing a cylindrical shaped lens for forming a laser beam to be a slit-shaped light bundle in a light path in laser beam projecting optical system with observing an image of a section of the anterior portion of the eye which is light-sectioned by a slit-shaped laser beam, or by scanning a laser beam by laser beam scanning device with observing an image of a section of the anterior portion of the eye which is light-sectioned by the scanned laser beam through observation optical system.
