This intermittent connection-type optical fiber tape core is configured in a manner such that in a state where a plurality of optical fiber cores are arranged in parallel in a direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of said plurality of optical fiber cores, some or all of the intervals between the plurality of optical fiber cores are intermittently provided in the lengthwise direction with connected sections where the intervals between adjacent optical fiber cores are connected and non-connected sections where the intervals between adjacent optical fiber cores are not connected. The outer diameter of each of the plurality of optical fiber cores is 160-220 μm, inclusive. The catenary amount of the tip end of the intermittent connection-type optical fiber tape core projecting from the held location is 0.1-2 mm, inclusive, in a given state.

An optical fiber ribbon that includes 16-48 parallel optical fiber core wires and a connecting resin that connects adjacent optical fiber core wires. The outer diameter D of the optical fiber core wires is 160-220 μm, and when N is the number of optical fiber core wires and S is the bending strain of the optical fiber core wires, S=0.167×N/2(%) or less.

An optical fiber cable includes: a plurality of optical fibers or a plurality of optical fiber ribbons; a cable sheath inside which a plurality of the optical fibers or a plurality of the optical fiber ribbons are housed; and four or more tensile strength member units which are provided so as to be embedded inside the cable sheath, and in which two or more tensile strength members are paired with each other, in which the four or more tensile strength member units are respectively provided at locations facing each other with a center of the optical fiber cable interposed therebetween in a cross section in a radial direction of the optical fiber cable, and in which a cable outer diameter of the optical fiber cable is 6 mm or more and 16 mm or less.

Provided is an intermittently coupled-type optical fiber ribbon in which, in a state where a plurality of optical fibers are arranged in parallel, coupling portions at which adjacent optical fibers are coupled by a coupling resin and non-coupling portions at which the adjacent optical fibers are not coupled are intermittently provided in a longitudinal direction, the coupling portions and the on-coupling portions being provided between some or all of the plurality of optical fibers, in which at least some of the non-coupling portions include a convex portion of the coupling resin, a tip end of the convex portion having an acute angle in a cross-sectional view in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction.
