An aqueous coating film-forming composition is provided that can be coated uniformly on a silicone rubber surface without causing repelling or coating failure even when applied to the silicone rubber surface at a film thickness of 30 μm or less, and forms an antifriction dry coating film that reduces friction and/or blocking of the substrate surface on the surface. The composition comprises (A) a solid lubricant, (B) a thickener, and (C) a silicone binder in the form of an oil-in-water silicone emulsion comprising (c1) an ionic emulsifier and (c2) a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymerized nonionic emulsifier. Water content is removed from the composition to form an antifriction dry coating film comprising 40 to 80 mass % of component (A), 0.50 to 10 mass % of component (B), 0.60 to 5 mass % of component (c2), and 5 to 49.5 mass % of component (C) (solid fraction). Applications thereof are also provided, e.g. airbag coatings.

Aqueous coating-film-forming composition for forming lubricating coating film, and air bag using said composition

An oil-in-water type silicone emulsion composition is provided that can be uniformly coated onto a substrate and can, upon removing water content, form a cured film with low surface tackiness and excellent adhesive properties to a substrate and film strength. The oil in water type silicone emulsion composition comprises: (A) 100 parts by mass of polyorganosiloxane having at least two hydroxyl groups or hydrolyzable groups bonded to a silicon atom in one molecule, where the viscosity at 25° C. is within a range of 100,000 mPa-s to 20,000,000 mPa-s; (B) 45 to 120 parts by mass of colloidal silica (based on solid fraction); (C1) 1 to 100 parts by mass of an ionic emulsifier; and (D) 0 to 500 parts by mass of water (excluding water content in component (B), if any). Optionally, the composition further comprises (C2) a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymerized nonionic emulsifier. The composition can be used as a surface treating agent.

Oil-in-water silicone emulsion composition and use thereof

A heat resistant reinforcing cloth for an airbag is provided. The heat resistant reinforcing cloth can be disposed on an airbag part which contacts expansion gas in an airbag. The airbag can be deployed and expanded by expansion gas ejected from an inflator. The heat resistant reinforcing cloth comprises: a base fabric of natural fibers selected from the group consisting of cotton, hemp, flax, and combinations thereof; and a silicone rubber layer on both sides of the base fabric.

Heat resistant reinforcing cloth for airbag

A sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition is provided. The composition generally maintains a stable emulsified state, can form a low-density silicone rubber sponge having a uniform and fine open-cell foam structure even when a coating or molding method involving shearing force and thin layer formation is used, is less likely to contract during curing, and that forms a silicone rubber sponge having a density close to the density designed on the basis of water content. A low-density silicone rubber sponge material using the sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition is also provided. The sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition comprises (A) an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane, (B) an organopolysiloxane having a silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atom, (C) a mixture of water and an inorganic thickener, (D) an emulsifier, and (E) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. The contained amount of the component (C) in the entire composition is 70 mass % or more.

Sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition and silicone rubber sponge

A silicone rubber composition for textile coating is disclosed. The silicone rubber composition comprises: (A) an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups in a molecule and having a viscosity at 25&#xb0; C. of from 100 to 1000000 mPa&#xb7;s; (B) an organopolysiloxane represented by an average unit formula described herein; (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst; (D) a reinforcing silica fine powder; (E) an organotitanium compound and/or an organozirconium compound; and (F) an alkoxysilane having an epoxy group and/or an alkoxysilane having a methacryl group or an acryl group. The silicone rubber composition generally reduces formation and/or expansion of openings even when a large tension is applied to a textile coated with the silicone rubber composition. A silicone rubber-coated textile and method of formation are also disclosed.

A silicone-rubber composition for coating textile fabrics characterized in that the silicone-rubber composition comprises the following components: an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane (A) that comprises a mixture of an organopolysiloxane (A-1) that contains in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups in the amount not exceeding 2 mass % and an organopolysiloxane (A-2) that contains in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups in amount of 5 mass % or more; an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B) that comprises a mixture of an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B-1) that has in one molecule on average three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms and an organohydrogenpolysiloxane (B-2) that has in one molecule on average two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms; a hydrosilylation catalyst (C); and a reinforcement fine silica powder (D); and elongation according to JIS K6251 of the cured product of the composition is equal to or greater than 800%.

Multi-component sponge-forming liquid silicone rubber composition and silicone rubber sponge manufacturing method

The present invention relates to a process for producing a molded silicone rubber sponge by filling a sponge-forming silicone rubber composition into a cavity of a mold, wherein after the aforementioned sponge-forming silicone rubber composition is cured, and before mold opening of the aforementioned mold, gas present in the aforementioned cavity is discharged. Thereby, a molded silicone rubber sponge without damage such as chips or the like can be effectively produced.

A curable coating composition that exhibits improved cure and adhesion to various substrates, especially synthetic textiles used in the manufacture of air bags, comprises a composition curable by a hydrosilylation reaction, an acryloxy functional alkoxysilane or a methacryloxy functional alkoxysilane, an alkenyl functional silanol terminated organopolysiloxane, and an epoxy functional alkoxysilane. The curable coating composition is especially useful for application to synthetic textiles such as automotive air bags.

A curable coating composition that exhibits improved cure and adhesion to various substrates, especially synthetic textiles used in the manufacture of air bags, comprises a composition curable by a hydrosilylation reaction, and includes a silicone resin, a hydrosilylation reaction inhibitor; and an adhesion promoting additive which comprises (i) an acryloxy functional alkoxysilane or a methacryloxy functional alkoxysilane, (ii) an alkenylsilanol, (iii) an organotitanium compound, (iv) a metal chelate compound, and (v) an epoxy functional alkoxysilane. A method for fabricating foam gaskets is characterized in that during the separate transport and subsequent mixing in an enclosed chamber of the base and curing agent portions of a two part foamable and curable organosiloxane composition an inert gas is injected in the amount of from 1 to 50 mL per 100 g of the total curable organosiloxane composition. The gas is injected into either the base portion, the curing agent or during or immediately after mixing of the two portions, and the resultant foamable composition is then extruded from a nozzle onto the seal region of the substrate and cured while foaming.
