An engine () includes an engine body, an injector (), and an engine controller (). The engine body includes a piston () inside a cylinder (), and a combustion chamber () defined by the cylinder () and the piston (). The injector () injects fuel containing at least gasoline into the combustion chamber () via a nozzle port (). The engine controller () allows the injector () to inject the fuel in at least a second half of a compression stroke, and controls an injection condition of the injector (). The injector () has a parameter for adjusting spread of fuel spray. The engine controller () adjusts the parameter to increase the spread of fuel spray with an increase in pressure in the combustion chamber ().

Device for controlling direct-injection gasoline engine

A control device for direct injection gasoline engines includes a fuel injection control part (engine control device) composed to control a fuel injection aspect of an injector. The fuel injection control part changes an injection mode of the injector by changing the lift amount of the injector and the injection interval of the fuel respectively. The fuel injection control part switches between a first injection mode, which includes multiple times of the fuel injection with the small lift amount of the injector and the small interval of the fuel injection, and a second injection mode, which includes multiple times of the fuel injection with the bigger lift amount of the injector and the larger interval of the fuel injection than those of the first injection mode, according to an operating state of the engine body.

Control device for direct injection gasoline engines

Disclosed is a bumper structure adapted to be attached to a front end of a vehicle, which is capable of preventing a fine member from being bent downward by its own weight after integrally forming a bumper body and a grill portion together, and avoiding a problem about deterioration in appearance of the grill portion which would otherwise be caused by the fin support remaining within the grill portion, so as to provide drastically enhanced appearance of the grill portion. A fin support () is formed to allow an distal end thereof to extend toward an open zone on the upper side of an opening (X), and folded about a thin-wall portion () in such a manner as to be engaged with an engagement pin (, - - - ,) at an edge of the opening (X) to support the fin member (). After resin is cooled, thin-wall portion () is cut off to remove the fin support () from the inside of the opening (X).

Bumper structure for vehicle

A combustion chamber structure including a cylinder head having a bottom surface for defining an upper portion of a combustion chamber, a piston having a top surface for defining a lower portion of the combustion chamber, an intake recess formed in the cylinder head for an intake port of the combustion chamber to define a part the chamber, an exhaust recess formed in the cylinder head for an exhaust port to define a part of the chamber. The intake recess is smaller than the exhaust recess in volume. An extended wall portion is formed at a boundary portion between the intake and exhaust recess in the cylinder head to extend along the intake port and project into the exhaust recess. An ignition plug is arranged in the vicinity of a tip end of the extended wall portion. A compact structure of the combustion chamber can be obtained with an improved combustion property.

A fuel supply control system for an automobile engine comprises a detector for detecting change in engine operating condition, a fuel adjuster for variably controlling the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine, an A/F ratio setting device for setting the lower or higher A/F ratio of a combustible mixture than the critical A/F ratio to a higher or lower A/F ratio than a critical A/F ratio at which the engine can produce substantially the same or intermediate torque as that produced by the same engine with the supply of such combustible mixture, and a control operable in response to an output from the detector to control the fuel adjuster in such a way that, at the time the engine is desired or required to be switched from one engine operating condition to another, the A/F ratio lower or higher than the critical A/F ratio can be rapidly adjusted to the higher or lower A/F ratio set by the A/F ratio setting device and, thereafter, the A/F ratio can be progressively adjusted to a target or desired value.
