According to one embodiment, a reading system includes a processing device. The processing device includes an extractor, a line thinner, a setter, and an identifier. The extractor extracts a partial image from an input image. A character of a segment display is imaged in the partial image. The segment display includes a plurality of segments. The line thinner thins a cluster of pixels representing a character in the partial image. The setter sets, in the partial image, a plurality of determination regions corresponding respectively to the plurality of segments. The identifier detects a number of pixels included in the thinned cluster for each of the plurality of determination regions, and identifies the character based on a detection result.

According to one embodiment, a reading system includes a calculator and a determiner. The calculator calculates a total value of luminances and fluctuation of the luminances in at least a portion of a second direction at each of a plurality of points in a first direction for at least a portion of an image subjected to a polar transformation. A meter is imaged in the image and includes a pointer, a display panel, and graduations. The pointer rotates around a rotation axis. The graduations are arranged along a circumferential direction around the rotation axis on the display panel. The polar transformation is referenced to a center of the meter. The first direction corresponds to the circumferential direction. The second direction corresponds to a diametrical direction from the center toward the graduations. The determiner uses the total value and the fluctuation to determine a position at which the pointer exists.

Reading system, reading method, and storage medium

According to one embodiment, a reading system includes an extractor, a generator, a corrector, and a reader. The extractor extracts a first candidate region from an input image. The first candidate region is of a candidate of a region in which a meter is imaged. The generator generates a rectangle around the first candidate region when an exterior form of the first candidate region is circular. The rectangle corresponds to the exterior form of the first candidate region. The corrector generates a second candidate region by using the generated rectangle to correct the exterior form of the first candidate region to approach a perfect circle. The reader reads, from the second candidate region, a numerical value indicated by the meter.

According to an embodiment, a reading system includes a reader and a calculator. The reader reads, from a character image, a character that is displayed by a segment display. The calculator performs one of first, second, third, or fourth processing. In the first processing, the calculator calculates a first score based on a state of pixels of the character. In the second processing, the calculator calculates a second score based on a match ratio between the pixels and the extracted pixels. In the third processing, the calculator calculates a third score based on a ratio of a length of the character image in first and second direction. In the fourth processing, the calculator calculates a fourth score based on a comparison result between the detected result and preset patterns. The calculator calculates a certainty of the reading by using one of the first, second, third, or fourth score.

According to one embodiment, a data collection system includes an event data collector, a state machine generator, a state machine list, and a state machine driver. The event data collector collects sense signals respectively as a plurality of event data. The state machine generator generates a state machine as a model corresponding to the workpiece. One of the sense signals is acquired when the workpiece is fed into the processing system. The state machine generator generates the state machine and generates an ID for the state machine when the event data collector collects one of the plurality of event data corresponding to the one of the sense signals. The state machine driver drives the state machine retained in the state machine list by sending, to the state machine retained in the state machine list, an event corresponding to another one of the sense signals.

In one embodiment, an optical device having a convex lens, a concave lens and a mirror member is provided. The convex lens is arranged on an axis and has a convex surface at one side in a direction of the axis. The convex lens reflects a first wavelength light and transmits a second wavelength light. The concave lens is arranged on the axis and at the other side in a direction of the axis and having a concave surface. The mirror member has a reflective surface opposing the convex surface and is arranged apart from an outer circumference of the convex lens.

An processing apparatus comprises a laser oscillator, an overall control device which controls an operation of the laser oscillator, and a plurality of processing units. The processing unit comprises a holding part which movably holds a processed object, an optical system which guides the laser beam, oscillated from the laser oscillator, toward the processed object, a shutter which selectively prevents the laser beam from reaching the processed object, and an individual control device which controls an operation of the holding part, and transmits a laser request signal to the overall control device. When at least one of the plurality of individual control devices transmits the request signal, the overall control device controls the shutter of the processing unit, which has transmitted the laser request signal, to enable the laser beam to reach the processed object, and drives the laser oscillator to allow the laser oscillator to oscillate the laser beam.
