A sheet processing apparatus includes a tray, a first binder, a second binder, a feeder, and circuitry. The tray receives and stores a sheet bundle. The first binder presses the sheet bundle to bind the sheet bundle. The second binder penetrates the sheet bundle with a needle to bind the sheet bundle. The feeder feeds the sheet bundle in a first direction, and moves the sheet bundle in a second direction. The circuitry causes the feeder to move the sheet bundle on the tray in the second direction, moves the first binder from a binding position to a home position different from the binding position, and moves the second binder to the binding position in the width direction to bind the sheet bundle by the second binder after the sheet bundle is moved in the second direction and the first binder is moved to the home position.

A binding apparatus to bind sheets includes a binding device, a non-volatile memory, and control circuitry. The binding device is configured to bind a plurality of stacked sheets with a binding member. The non-volatile memory is configured to store a quantity of binding members in the binding device. The control circuitry is configured to control operation of the binding device. The control circuitry outputs an alert when the quantity of binding members stored in the non-volatile memory is equal to or less than a first predetermined value and cancels the alert when the quantity of binding members is equal to or less than a second predetermined value.

Binding apparatus and image forming system including the same

A sheet conveying apparatus includes: a first sheet conveying unit that conveys a sheet by a driving force of an asynchronous motor; a second sheet conveying unit that conveys a sheet by a driving force of a synchronous motor, wherein a sheet is transferred from one of the first sheet conveying unit and the second sheet conveying unit to the other one to convey the sheet; and an asynchronous-motor control unit that starts drive of the asynchronous motor at a drive start timing determined according to rotation information at a time of acceleration of the synchronous motor, at a time of starting sheet conveyance when a same sheet is conveyed by both the first sheet conveying unit and the second sheet conveying unit.
