A method is provided. The method includes determining a set of beam indexes including a first beam index and a second beam index; and determining a set of candidate matching networks. The method further includes performing an assigning step, where the assigning step includes: (a1) assigning a first matching network from the set of candidate matching networks to a first beam index; and (a2) assigning a second matching network from the set of candidate matching networks to a second beam index. The first matching network is different from the second matching network.

Beam management with matching networks

It is presented a method for controlling uplink contribution from a plurality of remote radio heads in a combiner. The method is performed in a remote radio head controller and comprises the steps of: determining a first set of at least one remote radio head; determining a second set of at least one remote radio head, wherein the first set and the second set are disjoint; selecting a first uplink carrier for a first wireless device; selecting a second uplink carrier for a second wireless device; and applying a configuration such that the at least one remote radio head of the first set refrains from contributing on a first channel with uplink signals on the second uplink carrier and that the at least one remote radio head of the second set refrains from contributing on the first channel with uplink signals on the first uplink carrier.

Combining uplink radio signals

A method for inserting control data in a modulator comprising a plurality of frequency component inputs and a modulator output. The method is performed in the modulator and comprises receiving primary data subcarriers on respective frequency component inputs which are assigned for receiving primary data, receiving at least one control data subcarrier on a respective frequency component input which is not assigned to primary data, combining all frequency component inputs to one output signal, and providing the output signal on the output for transmission to a demodulator over a point-to-point medium.

A method is provided to determine radio channel metrics for radio communication between a plurality of remote radio heads and a wireless device. The method is performed in a remote radio head controller and comprising: selecting a first set of at least one remote radio head; selecting a second set of at least one remote radio head; configuring at least one switch such that only the remote radio heads of the first set communicate radio signals using a first radio branch; configuring at least one switch such that only the remote radio heads of the second set communicate radio signals using a second radio branch; determining a first radio channel metric for radio communication with the wireless device using the first radio branch; and determining a second radio channel metric for radio communication with the wireless device using the second radio branch.

Determining radio channel metrics

It is presented a method for controlling remote radio head contribution by a plurality of remote radio heads in at least one combiner. The method is comprises: obtaining a number of available baseband processor devices for uplink processing; connecting uplink signals from a set of remote radio heads in each one of the combiners; determining a respective radio channel measurement for uplink radio communication from a first wireless device; repeating the connecting and determining until radio channel measurements have been determined for all of the plurality of remote radio heads; selecting a first subset of at least one remote radio head from the plurality of remote radio heads for receiving radio communication from the first wireless device; and reducing an uplink contribution from at least one remote radio head, of the plurality of remote radio heads, which is not part of the first subset.

A method in a first base station for assisting a third base station in scheduling a user equipment. The first base station obtains a first parameter associated to a first cell, or an indication of the first parameter, and identifier of the first cell. The first parameter comprises a first protected subframe pattern. The first base station obtains a second parameter associated to a second cell, or indication of the second parameter, and an identifier of the second cell. The second parameter comprises a second protected subframe pattern. Method for assisting scheduling of a user equipment in a heterogeneous network

Radio base station, method in a radio base station, relay station and method in a relay station

A method is described performed by a network node for supporting cell selection of user equipments, UEs, in a wireless communication network. The wireless communication network comprises low power nodes, LPN (), and high power nodes, HPN (). The LPNs and the HPNs are arranged to transmit signals wirelessly to UEs (-). The method comprises identifying () cell range expansion, CRE, areas of a group of LPNs, which CRE areas experience interference from a group of HPNs. Method performed by a network node, network node and computer program for supporting cell selection of user equipments in a wireless communication network

A method for performing inter cell interference coordination between a first cell A and a second cell B of a communication network, wherein at least the first cell comprises a plurality of distributed transmission points. The method in the first cell comprises individually controlling the transmit power of the plurality of distributed transmission points within the first cell A. By being able to individually control the transmit power of each distributed transmission point to perform inter cell interference coordination, this has the advantage of improving the performance of victim UEs in the second cell B, while not impacting the performance in most UEs connected to the first cell A (e.g. the aggressor cell).
