A wrapping material is provided comprising a plurality of wrapping units, each said wrapping unit having a leading edge at one of thereof and a tail edge at an opposing edge thereof, where each one of said plurality of wrapping units is serially connected to at least one other of said plurality of wrapping units at the corresponding leading edge, tail edge, or both. In a further embodiment, discrete adhesive areas are disposed on the first surface of said plurality of wrapping units. In a still further embodiment, the discrete adhesive areas are covered by a protective cover, wherein the protective cover is attached to the first surface of the next said serially connected wrapping unit.

One embodiment of the present invention includes an apparatus for securing a wrapping material around an item, such as a baled agricultural item, the apparatus including a main plate and at least one projection, the projection including a heating element and a height adjustment mechanism, wherein the height adjustment mechanism controls a force applied to the wrapping material by the projection and provides a force for moving the projection.

Method and apparatus for securing baled items

A composite netting is used for wrapping bales with a baling machine. The composite netting includes a continuous netting component, and a discontinuous, breathable material component. The breathable material component is partially attached to the netting material. In some embodiments, the breathable material is attached only along the leading edge of each breathable material panel. As a result of the attaching technique the stretching properties of the netting are not transferred to the breathable material. Thus, each component of the netting retains its individual properties. Each bale is initially wrapped with about one wrapping of netting material, followed by about one wrapping of breathable material and a partially attached net that is continuous from the first section. After this, one or more additional netting layers may be applied if desired.

Method and material for wrapping items using a wrapping material made up of separate wrapping portions of a predetermined length. The wrapping portions are attached and released at their ends using a Z-lock system including a discrete laminate. The discrete laminate of the Z-lock system holds the wrapping portions together during manufacturing but can also easily release or separate the wrapping portions at a desired point in the wrapping process. The separating of the wrapping portions exposes an adhesive that is use to securely bond at least one wrapping portion to the item being wrapped at the end of a wrapping cycle.

The Z-lock system holds the wrapping portions together during manufacturing but can also easily release or separate the wrapping portions at a desired point in the wrapping process. The separating of the wrapping portions exposes an adhesive that is use to securely bond at least one wrapping portion to the item being wrapped at the end of a wrapping cycle.
