The invention relates to a method for cable condition monitoring of an electric cable. The method comprises inducing a test current in the electric cable, measuring a resulting current in a measurement point of the electric cable by measuring a magnetic nearfield of the electric cable, measuring a resulting voltage in the measurement point of the electric cable by measuring an electric nearfield of the cable, calculating an impedance of the electric cable based on the resulting current and the resulting voltage by a line resonance analysis system, and analysing the impedance by the line resonance analysis system establishing a condition of the electric cable. A coupler arrangement providing a non-galvanic connection to the cable is also disclosed.

A system for communicating over a power cable has a power line connected to a power source at one end, a switch mode transformer connected to the power line at the other end for transforming voltage received from the power source through the power line, modulation of the switch mode transformer, and a receiver situated at the power source end and adapted to detect and process ripple signals from the switch mode transformer propagated on the power line.

The present invention concerns a dynamic pressure sensor unit (A) for a logging tool for hydrocarbon wells with a piezoelectric element () in a sensor sleeve (). The piezoelectric element () is a tubular element with an inner and an outer diameter. The sensor sleeve () has an inner cylindrical area with an inner diameter greater than the outer diameter of the tubular piezoelectric element (). The piezoelectric element is situated in the inner cylindrical area of the sensor sleeve (). A gap () with a gap thickness is formed between the inner cylindrical area of the sensor sleeve (), defining an annular volume. The gap is filled with a noise transmitting liquid.

A method and equipment are provided for determining the level/height, of one or more interfaces between two or more fluid phases of different density that are contained in a vessel, tank or the like. The position of the different interfaces in a tank is determined by measuring the pressure thereby determining the density of the fluid over the height of the tank by using a pressure measuring rod, equipped with pressure sensors, positioned in the tank. A mathematical model or algorithm is used which calculates how the density and hence the pressure vary over the height of the tank as a function of the fluid properties of the respective fluids in the tank, the interface, on the basis of the density being the same within each layer of the respective fluid, as a respective point at which the density changes from one layer to the next in the tank.

Method and equipment for determining the interface between two or more fluid phases

A means for measuring fluid flow through or into a pipe comprises a fluidistor element () arranged in a wall of a pipe splicing piece () inserted between sections of the pipe. A pressure sensor () senses oscillations in the fluidistor element, and delivers a signal to an analyser () for deriving fluid flow rate, density and composition.
