A device, system, and method are provided for inspecting, activating or voiding scratch-off instant lottery tickets. A remote point-of-sale device has a detector system that detects tampering with the coating placed over concealed game play information on the tickets, and reads coded identification and authentication information on the tickets. The device automatically communicates the coded identification and tampering data to a central computer system of a lottery. The central computer system provides activation signals back to the point of sale on a ticket-by-ticket basis. The device, method and system provide automated generation and communication of ticket-by-ticket tampering, activation, and voiding data between the remote device and a central computer system of a lottery.

Validation of the identity of the user is performed with the use of a card associated with intelligence that identifies the user. Validation of the document involves one or more of: validating the presence of a signature; validating the amount of the monetary transaction document including a manual entry of the amount by the user; validating CAR against the LAR; and validating the banking system parameters and rules for the customer and/or the transaction. To assist in the automatic analysis of data on monetary transactional documents or on remittance documents, the user is prompted to provide a bounding box about the data. An image touch screen may be touched by the user to locate the bounding box and the user may magnify the data to fill the boundary box to exclude other data from analysis. After document and person validation, the system will dispense money or transfer monies to a savings account, a checking account, a smart card, or the like. The system will also write money orders or wire transfer money.

Automated document cashing system

A training device for inline roller skates includes a training wheel bracket, a training wheel mounted upon the bracket, and means for adjustably mounting the device upon the inline skate. The training wheel is adapted to engage upon the travel surface to compensate for any unbalance of the trainee and to enable the trainee to travel in a desired direction. The training wheel is adapted to provide a braking action to the roller wheels if the trainee loses balance or the trainee's ankle collapses. The training device serves the dual purpose of providing a means of balancing the skater as well as slowing and braking the forward movement of the skater to control and limit the speed of the skater.

A transport that is manually powered for transporting an injured or disabled person from one location to another. The chair is particularly useful for transporting an injured or disabled person (who is of a heavy weight) up or down a flight of stairs. The chair lift is manually driven by reciprocating hand levers operated by an attendant. A ratchet and pawl mechanism in combination with a brake system, which is continuously set/locked, allows movement of the chair only when the chair is being propelled up a flight of stairs and when an attendant purposefully actuates a hand lever to release the brakes and allow movement of the transporter.

The location of the O-ring () relative to the filter element () and the plug () being tapered enables the filter housing () to be drained of any water during removal of the hatch cover and before the watertight seal is broken to eliminate leakage of drain water out of the housing () when the hatch () is completely opened. The filter () bends out of the way of a plumber's auger ().

A storage apparatus is disclosed. The storage apparatus comprises a mounting mechanism, a hoist system and a storage member. The hoist system, which is attached to the mounting mechanism, comprises at least one pulley. A hoist wire is disposed within each of the at least one pulleys. A hoist wire mount receives a first end of each of the hoist wires and also includes a power source. Finally, the storage member is affixed to a second end of each of the hoist wires.

A method of making a metal snow guard is disclosed. The snow guard has a solid layer of soldering material on its base to be heated and melted with application of heat to the upper side of the snow guard to solder the base to an underlying metal roof. The soldering material may be applied as spaced spots or projections providing a rough surface on the underside of the snow guard. The amount of solder and/or flux in the solid layer is limited so that the solder and/or flux does not flow outwardly from the snow guard and run down the metal roof thereby damaging or marring the metal roof surface. The snow guards may be formed of a few pieces of sheet metal. The projections of soldering material may be formed by forcing a paste of solder and flux through spaced holes in a plate or screen onto the base.
