An electrical connector assembly is provided for electrically connecting a plurality of coaxial cables to a circuit board. The assembly includes a housing having a mounting side portion configured to be mounted to the circuit board and a mating side portion opposite the mounting side portion. A plurality of coaxial cable connectors are held by the housing. Each coaxial cable connector includes an outer electrical contact and an inner electrical contact extending generally coaxially with each other. Each outer and inner electrical contact extends from a mating end portion on the mating side portion of the housing to a mounting end portion. The mounting end portion of each of the outer and inner electrical contacts is configured to be electrically connected to a corresponding electrical contact on the circuit board. The mating end portion of each of the outer and inner electrical contacts is configured to be electrically connected to an electrical contact of a corresponding one of the coaxial cables.

Coaxial cable connector assembly

A high performance coaxial connector used to terminate a coaxial cable and provide an electrical connection to a mating coaxial connector is disclosed. The coaxial connector is formed with few individual parts and may be configured to provide enhanced electrical performance greater than or equal to 4 GHz.

High performance coaxial connector

An electrical connector including a housing having a mating interface and a contact interface configured to receive an end of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) having at least one row of FPC contacts, and contacts received in the housing and extending between the mating interface and the contact interface. Each of the contacts being configured to engage a corresponding one of the FPC contacts. An insert member is received within the housing. The insert member includes individual fingers moving independently with respect to one another, and the insert member is configured to be loaded into the housing to a mated position at which each of the fingers separately engage the FPC.

Electrical connector

A heat sink assembly includes a circuit board, a first integrated circuit package and a second integrated circuit package mounted to the circuit board in a stacked relation to one another. A first heat sink is engaged to and is in thermal communication with the first integrated circuit package, and a second heat sink is engaged to and is in thermal communication with the second integrated circuit package, wherein each of the first and second heat sinks are positioned over the first and second integrated circuit packages on a single side of the circuit board. Optionally, the first heat sink may include an opening extending therethrough and exposing the second integrated circuit package. The second heat sink may extend through the opening and engage the second integrated circuit package.

Modular heat sink assembly

An electrical socket is provided that holds an array of contacts. Each contact includes first and second contact elements that are configured to be joined in an electrically common manner. The first and second contact elements have first and second contact beams, respectively, that are oriented to project toward one another and to overlap. The first and second contact elements each have base portions that are formed separate from one another and are configured to be joined to a common conductive path on the circuit board.

Contact having multiple contact beams

A memory module electrical connector is comprised of an insulative housing and a plurality of electrical terminals. The terminals are stamped and formed from conductive material to include resilient contact portions for interconnection to the module, and compliant pin portions for interconnection to the printed circuit board. The compliant pin portions of the connector are laterally staggered, with some compliant pin portions being positioned adjacent to a slot in the housing for receiving the memory module, and alternate contacts are positioned distant from the slot, thereby staggering the compliant pin portions. The compliant pin sections include an upstanding, rigidifying section to rigidify the compliant pin portion during the insertion of the electrical connector and the plurality of compliant pin portions into the printed circuit board.

Electrical connector for memory modules

A hybrid electrical connector includes both signal and power contacts in the same connector housing. The housing includes a plurality of axially extending passageways for receipt of the signal contacts and a plurality of axially extending cavities for receipt of the power contacts. The connector housing further includes a plurality of transversely extending slots extending through the connector housing intersecting with individual power contact cavities. Moreover, the housing includes a protrusion extending across the lower surface thereof. A Y-shaped terminal retaining member is insertable in the slots and is resiliently held in place in the slots. The power terminals include an opening therethrough forming a locking shoulder for receipt of the transversely extending locking member. In addition, the power terminals include notches for mating with the protrusion. The combination of the notches and the protrusion ensure the terminal is properly positioned within the housing.

Terminal locking mechanism for hybrid electrical connector

A socket connector including a socket base having a slot oriented at a first angle with respect to a bottom surface of the socket base. The socket connector also includes a contact having a base beam and a retention portion. The retention portion forms an initial angle with the base beam before the contact is assembled with the socket base that differs from the first angle. The socket base receives the contact with the retention portion held in the slot such that an angle between the base beam and the retention portion is changed from the initial angle.

Socket connector carrying flexible contacts

A socket for retaining a module includes a base extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite first and second ends. The base includes a slot extending along the longitudinal axis. The slot is configured to receive a contact mating edge of a module. The slot defines a module retention plane along which a module is inserted into the slot. An end bracket is joined to the base and extends along the module retention plane. At least one locking member is disposed on the end bracket. The locking member is configured to engage the module to prevent removal of the module once the module is fully inserted into the base.

Socket for retaining in-line modules

A cover for an electrical socket includes multiple walls joined with one another and configured to overlay an electrical socket. A latch element is provided with at least one of the walls to securely retain the walls against the electrical socket. A rigid member is secured to the walls and retains the walls in a predefined relation with respect to one another. The rigid member includes a heat resistant plate rigidly mounted to the walls of the cover which include lower edges and upper edges aligned in a common plane. The upper and lower edges are configured to abut against and retain the electrical socket in a common planar relation with one another. Brackets extending from the walls slidably receive the rigid member.

An electrical contact is provided that includes a body configured to be held on a circuit board. The body of the contact is movable relative to the circuit board along at least a first axis of motion. The contact includes a contact portion joined with the body that is configured to engage an electrical component. The contact portion may include one or more contact beams. The contact further includes a termination lead joined to the body and having an outer end that is configured to be soldered to the circuit board. The termination lead extends from the body at an acute or right angle to the first axis of motion. The termination lead flexes about an arcuate path as the body of the contact shifts along the first axis of motion with respect to the circuit board.

A multi-beam power contact is provided including a main body and a plurality of at least three beams, which may be grouped in beam pairs, extending from the main body. The beams are adapted for mating with a mating connector, and the beams comprise contact areas adapted for electrical connection with the mating connector. Additionally, the multi-beam power contact may optionally include at least one initial contact beam and at least one non-initial contact beam. The initial contact beam is arranged to electrically connect to the mating connector before the non-initial contact beam electrically connects while the multi-beam power contact is being mated.

An electrical connector is provided including an electrical connector having a housing with a front end configured to receive a circuit board and a rear end configured to receive at least one flexible cable. The electrical connector includes top and bottom contacts retained in alignment along a vertical axis in corresponding channels in the housing. At least one of the top and bottom contacts has a first contact prong configured to engage the circuit board and a second contact prong configured to engage the at least one flexible cable. The electrical connector includes a stuffer received at the second end of the housing that is configured to retain the at least one flexible cable in contact with the second contact prong.

Electrical connector for connecting circuit boards to flat flexible cables

A connector assembly is provided with a floatable mounting apparatus formed thereon to enable the connector assembly to correct for misalignment between mounting structures. The connector assembly includes a connector housing having peripheral surfaces with an outer contour shaped to loosely fit in an inner contour of a mounting structure, such as a card, panel, circuit board, bulk head, rack assembly and the like. The connector housing is slidably inserted into the opening through the mounting structure. A chamber is provided in the connector housing adapted to securely retain contacts. At least one latch beam is formed with the connector housing and aligned to engage the mounting structure. A float gap is located between the inner contour of the opening through the mounting structure and the outer contour of the connector housing to enable relative movement therebetween. Guide pins are provided on a receptacle connector and guide pockets are provided on a plug connector to facilitate alignment therebetween during a mating operation. At least one of the receptacle and plug connectors are provided with a pattern of contact receiving cavities therein, in which the cavities are formed in staggered overlapping rows to afford a compact connector envelope while enabling large blades and large wire gauges to be used.

An electrical connector having improved cooling is provided. The electrical connector has a housing having at least one mating surface defined on a first plane and a surface defined on a second plane, where the first and second plane are perpendicular to each other. At least one passageway is defined by the mating surface and adapted to receive at least one contact. At least one vent is defined by the surface and adapted to create turbulent airflow in an interior chamber.
