An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing defining a cylindrical terminal cavity, an electrical terminal having a cylindrical portion, and an electrical terminal seal. The electrical terminal seal includes a base formed of a compliant material and a cylindrical protrusion integrally formed with the base and extending from a major surface of the base. The electrical terminal seal defines a cylindrical aperture extending through the protrusion. The protrusion includes a first circumferential rib that is integrally formed with the protrusion. The first circumferential rib extends into the aperture from an inner surface of the protrusion.

An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing defining a cavity in which an electrical busbar is disposed. The connector housing defines an opening to the cavity. The electrical connector assembly also includes a cover configured to enclose the cavity. The cover has an inlet port, an outlet port, and a coolant channel that is in fluidic communication with the inlet port and the outlet port. A portion of the cover is in intimate thermal contact with the electrical busbar.

Electrical connector assembly with liquid cooling features

A wire cable assembly, such as those used in electric or hybrid electric vehicles, having a plurality of shielded wire cables that are spliced together is presented. The assembly. A resilient shield clip electrically interconnects the shield conductors of at least a portion of the plurality of shielded wire cables. The shield clip defines a first wire receiving portion that is characterized as being omega-shaped in cross section. A first shield conductor portion is received within the first wire receiving portion. The shield clip further defines second and third wire receiving portions in which the second and third shield conductor portions are received respectively. A conductive shield sleeve is in electrical contact with the shield clip and encloses the first, second, and third shield conductor portions. A method of splicing shielded wire cables using such a shield clip is also presented herein.

Device and method for splicing shielded wire cables

A wire harness assembly includes a housing defining an interior volume which extends into the housing along an axis and also defines an outer surface having a retention protuberance extending outward therefrom. A seal is received within the interior volume and a wire extends through the seal into the interior volume. A seal includes skirt segments which extend from the seal retainer wall such that each of the skirt segments is positioned laterally to the outer surface and such that one of the skirt segments is a lock arm having a lock aperture which captures the retention protuberance therein, thereby retaining the seal retainer to the housing. A flex limiting strap joins the lock arm to an adjacent one of the skirt segments and limits the extent to which the lock arm flexes away from the axis.

Wire harness assembly and seal retainer therefore

A wire cable assembly, such as those used in electric or hybrid electric vehicles, having a plurality of shielded wire cables that are spliced together is presented. The assembly includes a splicing device having a generally planar bus bar formed of a conductive material, wherein the exposed core conductors of the shielded wire cables are welded to the bus bar, thereby electrically interconnecting the exposed core conductors. A conductive sleeve encloses bus bar and interconnects the shield conductors of the shielded wire cables, providing shielding for the exposed core conductors and continuity for the shield conductors. An outer insulator enclosing the conductive sleeve. A method of splicing shielded wire cables using such a device is also presented herein.

An electrical connector system having a male and female connector. The male connector includes a U-shaped shroud axially surrounding a male terminal having an opening generally perpendicular to the male terminal's longitudinal axis. The female connector includes a female terminal having two openings, one generally parallel with the female terminal's longitudinal axis and another generally perpendicular to that axis. The male and female terminals mate in a parallel configuration having the male terminal axis generally parallel to the female terminal axis or in a perpendicular configuration having the male terminal axis generally perpendicular to the female terminal axis. A connector body holds the female terminal. The connector body defines a locking means that releasably secures the connector body to the shroud in both the parallel and perpendicular mating configurations. The locking means may include a triangular shaped lock tab that engages a similarly shaped lock aperture.

Electrical connector system connectable in a straight or right angle configuration

A shielded, or coaxial, electrical cable assembly including a female shield connected to the outer conductor, or shield, of the cable. The female shield is configured to mate with a male shield to maintain the continuity of the shield in a connection. The male shield includes a flexible protrusion that is designed to align with and snap into an aperture defined in the female shield, thereby providing a mechanical connection between the male and female shields. The male shield also defines a flexible contact adapted to closely engage an interior surface of the female exterior shield, thereby providing an electrical connection between the male and female shields. The flexible protrusion and the flexible contact flex along axes that are generally orthogonal to one another so the flexible contact interacts with the female exterior shield substantially independently of the flexible protrusion.
