A method and system are provided for generating an image from each camera array in a camera array matrix. In one embodiment, the method comprises increasing redundancy between to be captured images from the camera matrix by rotating direction of any cameras disposed in upper and lower rows of said matrix by a 90 degree angle around the roll axis. Then any cameras disposed at the corners of the matrix are rotated in an angle that is less than 90 degrees around the roll axis. Subsequently, the location of central cameras are determined and analysed so that they can be rotated and disposed in a manner that provides both horizontal and vertical compensation for any redundancies.

A method is proposed for detecting occlusions in an image captured by a light field capturing system, comprising, for at least one reference image belonging to a matrix of images captured by the light field capturing system: —calculating a depth map and a visibility map for pixels in the reference image; —determining at least one candidate area in the reference image in which the potential occlusion may occur based at least on a segmentation of the depth map; —determining an information representative of an occlusion state in the at least one candidate area based at least on visibility values of the visibility map associated with at least two neighborhoods of the at least one candidate area.

The 4D light field data corresponds to data acquired by either several cameras or by a plenoptic device. The method comprises: obtaining a volume in front of said 2D display device in which no disocclusions are present, said volume being defined according to optical and geometry parameters of an acquisition device that has acquired said 4D light field data, a size of a screen of said 2D display device, and an anchor plane in said content, said anchor plane being perceived as static in case of movement of a user relative to said 2D display device; determining a modified volume from said volume, comprising modifying a size of said volume, for modifying possible movements of a user positioned within the modified volume compared to movements of said user within said volume; providing means for guiding said user within said modified volume according to said viewing position of said user.

A method and device for filtering a content menu. A list including two or more content items to be filtered is displayed. One or more selectable filters associated to a first hierarchy of filters are displayed. Responsive to detecting a first user input, a first filter in the first hierarchy of filters is selected, the list of content items is automatically filtered, and one or more selectable filters associated to a second hierarchy of filters is automatically provided. Responsive to detecting a second direction user input a second filter in the second hierarchy of filters is selected, the list of content items is automatically filtered according to the first and the second filters; and the filtered list of content items is displayed. The filtered list of content items includes a subset of the content items of the initially displayed list of content items.
