Example implementations relate to an electronic port of an electronic device, having a locking assembly to secure an electronic plug within the electronic device. The electronic port includes a receptacle, and the locking assembly including a rocker switch, a bracket, and an elastic arm. The receptacle is releasably connectable to a connector of the electronic plug. The rocker switch is pivotably connected to an enclosure of the electronic device. The bracket extends from the rocker switch, and disposed around a first end portion of the receptacle. The elastic arm includes a locking tab engaged with the bracket, and a seating tab seated on a second end portion of the receptacle. Where, in relaxed state of the elastic arm, lock features of the locking tab protrudes into the receptacle, and where the elastic arm is deformable from relaxed state to biased state to pull the lock features out of the receptacle.

A technique and corresponding device to provide for a floating heat sink is disclosed. The technique includes a method that allows for insertion of an electronic component (e.g., an optical transceiver) into a cage that has a pre-installed heatsink. At the beginning phases of insertion, no friction is present between the electronic component and the heatsink. At or very near an insertion end phase (the electronic component is almost fully inserted), an actuator (e.g., roller or button) is impacted to impart a pivot motion via a lever arm to cause lowering of the heatsink toward the electronic component. A thermal interface material (TIM) may therefore be present to establish a thermal coupling between the heatsink and the electronic component. The TIM and heatsink contact the electronic component via a downward motion (caused by the pivot) to provide a nearly frictionless sliding impact to the TIM.

Example implementations relate to an electronic plug having a locking assembly for securing within an electronic port having a receptacle. The locking assembly includes a cantilever beam, a deformable arm, and an axle rotatably coupled to a connector of the electronic plug. The cantilever beam extends from the axle, where a free end of the cantilever beam includes a locking tab aligned to a recess of the connector. The deformable arm extends from the axle, where an open end of the deformable arm is rested on the connector. In a biased state of the deformable arm, the locking tab is positioned below the recess to allow movement of the connector in and out of the receptacle. In a relaxed state of the deformable arm, the locking tab protrudes above the recess to allow movement of the connector into the receptacle and prevent movement of the connector out of the receptacle.

Example implementations relate to an electronic port of a computing system, having a locking assembly to secure an electronic plug within the electronic port. The electronic port includes a receptacle, a bracket, a biasing member, and a fastener. The receptacle includes a plurality of retainers to releasably hold a connector of the electronic plug, when the electronic plug is detachably coupled to the electronic port. The bracket is disposed around the receptacle. The bracket has a plurality of locking elements and a pillar having a counter bore. The plurality of locking elements is aligned with the plurality of retainers. The fastener is projected into the pillar through an enclosure, where the fastener is fastened into the counter bore of the pillar to allow a vertical movement of the bracket along a first direction for engaging the plurality of locking elements with the plurality of retainers.

A cooling apparatus is disclosed for cooling an electronic device, the apparatus including a conductive mounting bracket to couple with an electronic device housing and a heat sink integrated with the conductive mounting bracket. The cooling apparatus further includes a heat pipe coupled with the conductive mounting bracket on a first side of the heat pipe, the heat pipe to be directly coupled with a targeted electronic component within the electronic device, on a second side of the heat pipe. The apparatus may further include a conductive mounting interface attached to the electronic device housing to attach to the conductive mounting bracket. A mounting receptacle deployed within the conductive mounting interface may be used to expose the targeted electronic component.

In some examples, an enclosure can include a lever to interact with an asset wall when the enclosure is coupled to the asset wall, an actuator coupled to a switch to interact with the lever, and an aperture to allow the actuator to move with the lever when the enclosure is removed from the asset wall, wherein the actuator provides a signal to the switch when the actuator moves beyond a threshold angle.

An example device can include a circuit assembly, an infrared sensor coupled to the circuit assembly, a switch coupled to the circuit assembly, an infrared lens coupled to a resistive element to alter a state of the switch when the infrared lens alters a position of the resistive element, and a light pipe ring positioned around the infrared lens to allow visible light to pass between an exterior and interior portion of an enclosure.

An example mounting system for attaching an electronic device, such as a wireless access point, to a structure, such as a drop ceiling rail. The mounting system includes a bracket assembly and a device brace. The bracket assembly includes a first bracket and a second bracket that are separate from one another, each including a bottom flange and a top flange that forms a groove, the first bracket including a retention clip. The device brace is attachable to the electronic device and includes two grooves. The mounting system is tool-lessly attachable to the rail by: sliding the grooves of the first and second brackets onto flanges of the rail, sliding the second bracket into engagement with the retention clip such that the retention clip holds the first and second brackets together on the rail, and sliding the grooves of the device brace onto the bottom flanges of the first and second brackets such that the bracket assembly supports the device brace.

A chassis may include a front section that contains a first electronic circuit board oriented in a first plane, a rear section that contains a second electronic circuit board oriented in a second plane, where the first plane and the second plane are substantially orthogonal, a midplane dividing the front and the rear sections, and a fan tray assembly including a plurality of fans to cool both the first electronic circuit board of the front section and the second electronic circuit board of the rear section.

A reversible fan tray device is provided for a power supply unit. The fan tray device includes a mounting panel to be removably mounted to the power supply, a fan unit secured to the mounting panel to provide airflow through the electronic device, and an interconnection board secured to the mounting panel to provide an electrical connection between the fan unit and the power supply unit. The mounting panel can be positioned in either of two orientations, the first orientation to draw external air into the power supply unit and the second orientation to force internal air out of the power supply unit. The interconnection board mates with a connector on the power supply unit when the fan tray cassette is in either of the two orientations. The interconnection board provides an airflow direction indication to the power supply unit for an existing orientation of the two orientations.
