Drying section of a machine for producing a material web. The drying section includes a support roll with an associated impingement dryer, and at least one straight or curved section forming at least a part of a closed path between a last nip of a press section adjacent the drying section and the support roll. The support roll and the impingement dryer are arranged to guide the material web over the support roll, and, thereby, to subject the material web to at least one of hot air and hot steam impingement. The at least one straight or slightly curved section is structured and arranged to form at least one of an impingement drying section and a transfer foil section.

Drying section

Drying end of a machine for the production of a material web such as paper or cardboard. The drying end includes at least one impact flow drier configured to bombard at least one surface of the material web with hot air or hot steam impact flow. Also provided is a method for drying a material web including bombarding the material web on at least one surface with hot air or hot steam impact flow, via at least one impact flow drier.

Drying end of a machine for the production of a material web and method of drying a material web

Dryer section of a machine for manufacturing a material sheet. The dryer section may include at least one dryer cylinder, a plurality of sheet guide rolls, a transport belt for guiding the material sheet in a meandering manner around the at least one dryer cylinder and the plurality of sheet guide rolls, and threads surrounding at least one of the at least one dryer cylinder and the plurality of sheet guide rolls. The threads may be positioned between the material sheet and a surface of the at least one of the at least one dryer cylinder and the plurality of sheet guide rolls.

Dryer section

A machine and method for producing a material web, e.g., a paper or cardboard web. The machine includes a dryer group having a plurality of dryer cylinders and web guide rolls. A dryer (or guide) belt may guide the material web around the dryer cylinders and web guide rolls in a meandering or winding path. The dryer group may include a cooling device that cools the dryer belt by exerting an air current on the dryer belt after separation from the material web. The method may include drying the material web in a region of the dryer group in which the material web is held and guided between the dryer belt and each drying cylinder, and substantially preventing drying of the material web in a region of the dryer group in which the material web is transferred from one drying cylinder onto a subsequent one.

Machine and method for producing a material web

Machine for manufacturing a material sheet and method of guiding the material sheet through the machine. The machine may include a dryer section including at least one dryer group having a plurality of dryer cylinders. Centers of a first plurality of the plurality of dryer cylinders may be arranged on an upper level and centers of a second plurality of the plurality of dryer cylinders may be arranged on a lower level spaced a distance from the upper level. A top felt may be associated with at least one of the first plurality of dryer cylinders and a bottom felt associated with at least one of the second plurality of dryer cylinders. The machine may also include a meandering run path for the material sheet through the at least one dryer group, the material sheet being guided in the meandering run path by the top and bottom felts, and at least one transition area between the plurality of dryer cylinders. The top and bottom felts may be positioned to guide the material sheet therebetween in the at least one transition area between the dryer cylinders.

Machine for manufacturing a material sheet

Machine for producing a material web, e.g., paper or cardboard, that may include a dryer section with at least one dryer group and the at least one dryer group may have at least one dryer cylinder, a dryer screen, and a metal belt. The machine may also include a cooling device associated with the metal belt. The material web, the dryer screen and the metal belt may be guided in a meandering path around an outside of the at least one dryer cylinder, and the dryer screen may be positioned between the material web and the metal belt. Further, at least one of the metal belt and the dryer screen may be intensely prestressed.

Machine for producing a material web

Device for producing a material web in a dryer part that includes at least one dryer section having a plurality of cylinders including heated cylinders and cooled cylinders. The device may also include a porous dryer screen and a metal belt that may be guided with the material web in a meandering path alternatingly around the heated and cooled cylinders. At least one of the metal belt and the dryer screen being highly prestressed and the device may also include at least one of a heating installation and a cooling installation assigned to act on an area of a circumference of the plurality of cylinders in which the material web may be supported by the dryer screen and the metal belt.

Device for drying a material web with heated and cooled cylinders

A drying section for drying a traveling web of paper, which has successive drying groups each having drying cylinders, a felt or wire belt supporting the traveling web and resting against the drying cylinders, and guide rolls serving for the guiding of the web to be dried and of the felt or wire belt. The guide rolls are so arranged that the traveling web is guided in meandering form in the transfer region between two successive drying cylinders associated with different felt or wire belts. The transfer region is between the felts of two successive drying groups or the transfer region is between two felts in the two rows of a two tier drying group.

Guide roll arrangement for paper machine drying section

A dryer section of a paper or board making machine has a plurality of dryers. In a first group of dryers, each dryer heats the web somewhat more, but not to the level of the maximum evaporation rate of the moisture contained in the web. As the web is passing the end of the first group, the web is heated to such a high temperature that it reaches the maximum evaporation rate of the moisture in the web. The dryers in the first group have smaller diameters, which may gradually increase up to the region of the maximum evaporation rate, or they may all be of one smaller size. The dryer section has a second group of dryers in which each dryer heats the web to the maximum evaporation rate of the moisture contained in the web. The dryer at the beginning of the second group has the largest diameter. The following dryers in that group can have a smaller diameter. The dryers in the second group may be grouped in groups of decreasing size, or may gradually decrease in size. Advantageously, each group of dryers (A,B) is divided into subgroups (A.sub.1 ; A.sub.2 ; B.sub.1 ; B.sub.2 ; B.sub.3 ; B.sub.4) wherein first, one side of the web contacts all the dryers of one subgroup (for example A.sub.1), and then the other side of the web contacts all the dryers in the next subgroup (for example A.sub.2), and each subgroup is associated with one and only one fabric belt such as a felt or wire.

Process and dryer section for drying a running web in a paper or board

An apparatus in the dryer section of a paper or board making machine, wherein the section has a plurality of dryers. There is an initial region of dryers, each of which heats the web somewhat more, but not to the level of the maximum evaporation rate of the moisture contained in the web. It is not until the web is passing the end of said initial region that the web is heated to such a high temperature that it reaches the maximum evaporation rate of moisture in the web. The dryers of the initial region have smaller diameters, which may gradually increase up to the region of maximum evaporation rate, or they may all be of one smaller size. Following the initial region the dryer section has a region of dryers in which each dryer heats the web to the maximum evaporation rate of the moisture contained in the web. The dryer at the beginning of that regions has the largest diameter. The following dryers in that region may have a small diameter, because with less remaining moisture in the web, the web needs to contact each succeeding dryer for a decreasing length of time to still reach the maximum evaporation rate of moisture. The dryers in the region of maximum evaporation rate may gradually decrease in size, or may be grouped in groups of decreasing size.
