A remote services architecture which includes a remote services proxy, an intermediate mid level manager, an applications mid level manager, and an application server coupled to the remote services proxy. The remote services proxy provides communications flow management. The intermediate mid level manager provides data queue management, transaction integrity and redundancy. The intermediate mid level manager is scalable to a customer location or a service provider location based upon the needs of the customer. The applications mid level manager provides data normalization and integration with a mail server data flow. The application server provides persistent storage of remote services infrastructure information.

Remote services system relocatable mid level manager

The invention relates to a remote services communication module which includes: a communication protocol and a communication encryption module. The communication protocol module provides support for an application level protocol used in a remote services system. The communication encryption module supports plug-in encryption modules.

Remote services system communication module

The invention relates to an apparatus for interfacing between a plurality of service modules and a remote services system which includes a service module application program interface. The service module application program interface provides an interface between the plurality of service modules and a remote services infrastructure. The service module application program interface is distributed within the remote services infrastructure.

The system for managing bandwidth in a remote services system provides an infrastructure that enables a customer to control bandwidth utilization in accordance with specified network performance criteria. The architecture is broadly comprised of a bandwidth management system that operates in conjunction with aggregation Mid-level Manager and application Mid-level Managers controlled by the service provider. The customer deployment can be implemented using a single proxy or a plurality of proxies. Customer access to system resources is controlled by a service provider web-access portal controlled by the service provider.
